Akira Toriyama "Dragonball" Film Edit
[edit]Hello I just wanted to know why you took out the section of him and his relation to the 2009 film. I'm new at Wiki so I just wanted to also know if I broke a guideline at Wiki as well. Please respond, Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.227.165.163 (talk • contribs) 03:47, 29 July 2008
- You you need to cite a reliable source (like a news website, etc.) to add this kind of information to an article. Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability. Kariteh (talk) 08:11, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I think we've had consensus to merge this article to the two FFIII games for over a year, so let's do it. I'm a little overwhelmed with how to do it, and where to redirect this article to. Probably the original game, right? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 00:10, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, the original game. I think I had said something about the Nintendo DS version article but it was before it became GA (there were no Characters section yet, not there is). The Characters article can probably just be merged/redirected to the original game article now. I think the less important characters should be mentioned in the Story section rather than the Characters section though. Kariteh (talk) 07:24, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey apparently your the person who called me on the ffIII change so I've just come to justify that change. Both the final fantasy I and II articles say nintendo entertainment system but in the final fantasy III article nintendo family computer is used instead. I believed this inconsistency was confusing and so changed it and had no intention on vandalising the article. If you feel the nintendo family computer is the more accurate term being it the name of the japanese version of the console may I suggest you modify the final fantasy I and II articles just for the purposes of clarity as I was some what confused when I saw the change in name of the platform in the final fantasy III article, such a modification I feel is necessary to avoid this confusion to either the final fantasy III article or the final fantasy I and final fantasy II articles. --Hybrid360 (talk) 21:35, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- The Famicom (full name Nintendo Family Computer) is the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since this is the English language Wikipedia, "Nintendo Entertainment System" can be used as a general name when we're speaking about all versions of the console. But when an article refers to the Japanese version of the console exclusively, we're kind of forced to use Famicom. Kariteh (talk) 21:29, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
I thought this might be the case as to why it would be more accurate but if thats the case for the final fantasy III article shouldn't the final fantasy II article be edited as like ffIII the game was never originally released outside japan on the nintendo entertainment system but the article still states it was released on the nintendo entertainment system. So as in final fantasy III's case wouldn't nintendo family computer be more accurate? --Hybrid360 (talk) 21:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Good catch, I didn't notice it. I've changed Nintendo Entertainment System to Nintendo Family Computer in the Final Fantasy II article now. Kariteh (talk) 21:44, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok thanks, it's good to know that that has got sorted out then --Hybrid360 (talk) 21:50, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:World Destruction logo.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:World Destruction logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. The delisting procedures say that anyone can delist an article if it is clear that the article does not meet the Good Article criteria anymore. Sending it to GAR is not required before a delisting. If you disagree, you can take it to GAR for relisting. To clarify this, I've also left a note at Wikipedia talk:Good article reassessment#Delisting about the situation, as I'm curious as to whether people are allowed to just revert a delisting if they disagree, and to confirm that I followed the correct procedures. Until they say otherwise, however, please let the delistings stand. AnmaFinotera (talk) 00:39, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I won't take it to GAR for relisting since from the start I agreed with you. It's just that I saw Juhachi's edits on Air (visual novel) and I thought the reviewing and discussion were mandatory procedures; apparently they're not. Sorry about that. Kariteh (talk) 07:53, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
On the Okami Wii image..
[edit]You tagged it with {{watermark}} which implies that the image was taken from site with the watermark added by the site. In this case, while there is a watermark on the image, this is the image on the actual cover (the cover image I got being from Amazon); the IGN watermark was a snafu that is discussed on the article itself in that an image from IGN (with its watermark) was pulled into the cover image, leaving the IGN watermark in place. The intent of the watermark tag is for a very different use, and in this case, it does not apply here (while Capcom is releasing a IGN -watermark free cover image, the IGN watermark-containing version of the cover is necessary to keep per this event). --MASEM 06:03, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia anyone can edit! I noticed that you have been having an 'edit war' over at the Koopa Troopa article. Wikipedia values your contributions to this one-of-a-kind project, but we have strict rules that we take very seriously to ensure that the quality of the project is not diminished by individual users. Reverting an article (that is, changing the article from the present version to an older version) is at times needed and appreciated, but other times can be dangerous. The dangerous times comes after the same article has been reverted three times by the same user in a short amount of time. As evident from the history at Koopa Troopa, you have been participating in an 'edit war' by reverting the article constantly. Please stop reverting the article and discuss your proposed changes on the article's talk page instead of 'bullying' your point of view with reversion. Thank you, Ask D.N.A.- Peter Napkin (talk) 23:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC) p.s. If you have any questions regarding how Wikipedia works and the many rules involved in editing, feel free to drop me a message at my talk page.

[edit]Pretty much all there is about the character's design influences in there has been mentioned there, short of comparing the character to the band and Roxy to a nightclub reference related to them, but that'd be pain enough to work in. Capcom just doesn't publish much material at all regarding character design process in even the All About books. As for the forum post, last I check if a designer himself is being referenced and is the original poster of material (thus serving as an official source) such as the case with that thread, can't it count as a valid reference? (Also to note the article itself only uses the one reference of this sort...as far as I know).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 08:31, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not wikistalk me as you did when you noticed my creation of the tromboner redirect. Also, please assume good faith, a tried and true wikipedia concept. Tromboner is a simple typo of trombone, and has been referenced as one in many televisions show. As you have undoubtedly seen from my edit history, I have been making multiple redirects to articles based upon typos of the article's name. So, in the future, please assume good faith before you get all crazy and accuse me of vandalism. I know you spend a lot of time patrolling video game articles and deal with a lot of new editors, but I know what I'm doing and it has a purpose. Thank you. The reason I removed that link was because the information that was citing it was not actually supported by it. TP page
[edit]Okay, the anon's I keep having to revert on the TP page keep claiming that the source is Nintendoview, but won't give me the link that I asked for. However, I can't find any possible results for the page through a google search, or even searching the interview text they quoted. Have you ever heard of "NintendoView"?Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 21:51, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Never heard of it. Seems like it's a dead Dutch fansite or something, and I can't find any information at the IA Wayback Machine. The information is either bogus or somehow managed to be exclusive to that non-reliable source, but the IP doesn't seem to understand that we can't do anything without a link... Kariteh (talk) 22:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Since at one point they tried to claim that "Ok severall of the poeple against you said Nintendosview as the source i mean its a well known site and has every interview for every Nintendo game.", when it's fairly obvious it's just the one person changing their IP, are we allowed to report them for alleged sockpuppetry? Or at the very least, get a temporary semi-protect? - Sorry, I don't really know what's best. Sockpuppetry cases often take several weeks to get even a first reply though, so it's probably not ideal. You might want to contact an admin if the disruption continues. Kariteh (talk) 10:51, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree but kariteh one thing i dont get....y do u keep erasing the stuff that one guy keeps putting on the Midna and Ilia page? Sounds fair and right "Many Zelda fans belive that Midna/Ilia and Link are in love this however has not been decided." Ya it doesnt have a website source but you dont need a website source for this type of thing a website wont show unless you count as he said youtube videos. I think we can all agree that there are people who think Midna and Link are in love and people who think Ilia and Link are in love. plz answerThetriforcehero (talk) 23:59, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Austin
- All contents must be sourced with a reliable source (and YouTube isn't considered "reliable" since everyone can do anything one it), that's not even my fault if it's that way, Erik. Kariteh (talk) 05:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
M8 im not any of those guys notice im against the Midna stuff they say. - I'm really being tempted to say that TTH is another sockpuppet, as he's using the same method, basically the same arguments, and is inserting the same "information" on both this and the TP game page (Oh, and he, like Darkest Link and the IP's, signs his post's as "Austin"). However, since such accusations are quite serious, and as it looks like he'll just get blocked for the same behavior, I wonder if I should formally say anything. What do you think? Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 04:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Mmh, he'll get blocked but he openly stated in an edit summary that he won't stop... The evidence for him using sockpuppets is quite solid, and it's getting very disruptive so yeah filing a sockpuppettry case could be efficient (might still take a long time though). Salut. Regarding this edit: {{'}}'s purpose is to replace <nowiki>'</nowiki>
and &39;
for conciseness and readability in the source code, as its documentation states. Because the template is just a five-character string, the subroutine would consume a negligible amount of time (i.e. the template is so small, using it has virtually no effect on loading time). Also, if you check Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:', you'll see that other featured articles (e.g. Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII, Super Mario 64) transclude the template, so it seems to be standard. —LOL (talk) 09:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Aerith Gainsborough
[edit]The article itself is Aerith Gainsborough. Wikipedia policy states to use the official spelling, which in this case is Aerith. Consensus among editors doesn't change that fact, nor does it make sense to use two different spellings throughout the article. While you may see it as a coup de'tat, it's merely following the established policies put in place. Not only is Aeris incorrect, it was always incorrect, and the current official spelling should be used. Nezu Chiza (talk) 22:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't own the article; the people who watch the article and principally Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy are the ones who should be convinced. Whether you think a consensus is valid or not, ignoring it and brutally changing the page like that without any proper discussion is not a good process. Kariteh (talk) 22:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I disagree. Ignoring an invalid consensus is precisely what should be done, and I shouldn't have to convince anyone to follow established policy. The article name itself shows exactly what her name is, or it wouldn't have been moved TO that name. In addition, the article mentions the naming change, and that should be more than enough information, especially with redirects. Fan decisions should have little to no effect on that. However, in the sense of fairness, I'll gladly start up another debate, even if you wrongly assumed bad faith on my part in your edit summary. My advice is to not make this personal, assuming I was trying to take over the article was bad faith on your part, as was assuming I had used severe bad faith in reverting your change. Nezu Chiza (talk) 22:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Response
[edit]First let me thank you for being by far one of the nicer people who control this site. At least you were not offensive in your post to me as I have so often come across people who I think just come to this site to pick fights. With that said however I actually was expecting my edit to get deleted. I always here about how people can come to this site and leave information about topics but to date, every single time I do so, it gets deleted. That is fine with me, I am not one of you guys and maybe this is all really just an inside club. Yet, everything from the meaning of my last name to the correct spelling of a Japanese politician gets deleted whenever I post it. Friends of mine constantly tell me not to even come to this site at all because of what they see as an extreme anti-Catholic bias here but I don't mind coming to pull a bit of information. I know that the writers are not professionals so I don't take the info here too far. However I do continue to find it strange that if I ever actually post something myself it will always get deleted. No way around it. Your deletion of my writing was actually some of the fastest that I have seen, I discovered the deletion in less then two hours. Certainly you would want to give a guy some time to dig his referances up for the things that actually need referencing. Many of the things that I posted about I suppose do need to have a redirect to a source but for others, the film itself seems to be the source that is best and I certainly can't up a link up to an illegal site that is showing the film.
Still, I don't really mind that you deleted my writing. Thems the breaks posting on a site you don't own. However, considering the depth of the film, cultural impact and extensive use of symbols from different cultures to assist in the story telling, it seems to me that a GOOD article about this movie should mention THEMES and other "closer look" information as it is relavant. An article about the Matrix would not dare leave this kind of stuff out so I don't see why a movie that is even higher on the "art" scale in my opinion should not. Sure, you guys just don't like my writing, maybe my friends are right and you guys have a way to know that a Catholic is writing so you automatically delete it, buy someone should put this kind of stuff in.
As to the comment about beig verifiable, please look up the Han system in Japan, and any good biography of Sakaguchi Hironobu should mention the passing of his mother as the inspiration for Final Fantasy VII, he always mentions it in almost every interview. Currently Japan has very strict anti-gun laws and it is expected that the only people with a gun will be the cops or the yakuza. No normal person here owns or has ever even seen a gun. Honestly, besides that, I can't think of what I wrote that isn't self referanced in the actual Final Fantasy games and film. There just isn't any way to put a link redirectin people to that information but seeing as how there is a plot secion in the article I can see that this rule is appled in a rather flexible manner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.47.46.195 (talk) 15:54, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of characters in Star Ocean: The Second Story. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ct-schala.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ct-schala.jpg.
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Ehrgeiz Original Characters
[edit]Prince Naseem="Prince" Naseem Hamed
Dasher Inoba=Antonio Inoki
What do you mean, "cite a source"? Its blatantly obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.86.144 (talk) 04:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please read WP:V. Kariteh (talk) 07:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Look, the Prince Naseem character being based off of a boxer named Prince Naseem (who is popular in Japan) is not a stretch, do you really need a source? Many Japanese games pay homage to real fighters while altering they're names slightly to avoid legal troubles (i.e. M.Bison in Street Fighter). If you really need proof here are links to the Japanese wiki pages about both the character and the real boxer: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%A8%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AC%E3%82%A4%E3%83%84 and http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%8A%E3%82%B8%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0%E3%83%BB%E3%83%8F%E3%83%A1%E3%83%89.
As for Dasher Inoba being based on Antonio Inoki, here is a page where they discuss that: http://mobile.seisyun.net/cgi/read.cgi/anime2/anime2_csaloon_1189887693 It's in Japanese but it explains similarities in the first post there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.86.144 (talk) 06:13, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Project Sylpheed for FA drive
[edit]Hi, I think we can co-nom it if we get it to FA standards. However, do note that I wrote the article and got it to GA in October 2007. I was not very aware of the criteria for reliable sites (and neither do the GA assessors, I believe). Off the top of my head, we have to find out if the following site are accepted as reliable. We might also have to defend their reliability to any reviewers.
- Gaming Excellence
- Not good. Nothing indicating an editorial process or information on their staff.[4][5] Trying to go on a corporate backer route may be useless, as Auracore MediaWorks seems to be a startup by Gaming Excellence (founded 1999 vs started 2004, plus the less than <20 Google hits). We may have to drop this one. Since this site's review provided a contrary opinion in the Reception, this might alter the content quite a bit.
- GamesAreFun
- Nothing on its site worth trying for reliability.[6] I doubt we can get anything on their staff as well. However, external searches on the Sylpheed's writer, Justin Fassino, does yield good information. He is now with G4,[7] which could help enforce him as an industry expert (the review being written at the starting of his career). Furthermore, he is a prolific journalist in his university days,[8][9], which could help the case more.
- ZeroTolerance
- Being part of the N4G network does nothing to make it reliable, especially since N4G itself is an unreliable source.[10] It does provide a unique opinion on the game's characters, so that will change the Reception section...
- The A.V. Club
- Whoa, this could be good. Turns out the A.V. Club is an offshoot of The Onion.[11] They do not accept user submissions, so it could be a plus. Their staff has some jounalistic experience and degrees, which could help. It is also printed in The Onion's free paper. Overall, it is very likely we can use and defend this site.
- AtomicGamer
- Totally unreliable as in no information to help establish its reliability. It is only used once to reference gameplay, so we could substitute it with the game manual. Its mention in the Reception could also be taken out without harm.
- GamersHell
- Bleak for this site. Nothing about editorial processes nor their staff's experience. It did receive a small mention in Marketing Violent Entertainment to Children by Russell O. Jones, but I am afraid it is of no consequence. It is very likely that we have to dump this site. However, since it is only used to cite one opinion in the article, which can be found in other reviews, we could remove it without ill effects.
- Siliconera
- No way this site is going to be accepted as reliable... Should be no big loss for us, as its information seems to be backed by 3 other sites (have to check).
Failing that, we have to check more reliable sites if they have the same information, so that we can reduce information loss from removing unreliable sources. Jappalang (talk) 00:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- I hope you do not mind me using your talk page to chronicle the investigations of the sites. Jappalang (talk) 03:03, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- So out of the seven sites, two are likely keepers. Jappalang (talk) 05:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. The article standards did change a bit since 2007 so I'll look into it. Kariteh (talk) 07:44, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- So out of the seven sites, two are likely keepers. Jappalang (talk) 05:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Here is another source we might have to think about or defend:
- Hooked Gamers
- Nothing on their site for their staff experience,[12] but their rating system does explicitly state the criteria for their ratings.[13] The article only referenced them for their comments on the ship design. Jappalang (talk) 03:58, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- A heads up to you. On reading the article again, I think I will rewrite some parts a little to improve the flow and tone of the article. Jappalang (talk) 05:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- The images Image:Project Sylpheed Crew.jpg, Image:Project Sylpheed Delta Saber.jpg, and Image:Project Sylpheed Katana Faraway.jpg may have to be dealt with. Strict NFCC reviewers might say that they do not comply with minimal use (the box cover showing the main cast and the Delta Saber). I think we might be able to use the first picture with the rationale of showing the full body design of anime-ish characters (overly endowed women), but I think the other two might have to be deleted in an FAC. Jappalang (talk) 05:34, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Why did you revert my changes to the Donna Noble page? I had brought the page up to date with information on her personality since displayed in episodes broadcast after the previous section had concluded. Why have you marked these edits as vandalism? Skanedog (talk) 18:56, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

"List of PlayStation Network games revision"
[edit]I'd like to know why you reverted my changes to the PlayStation Network PS3 Game Downloads list on List of PlayStation Network games. It seems that all thats done here is irrelevant information has been placed back into the list and actual pertinent information has been omitted.
The titles Astronoka, Einhander, Fighters' Impact, Rakugaki Showtime, RayStorm, and Xenogears are already listed under the correct article List of PSOne Classics with correct information and are not PS3 titles, which is what the list is intended for.
Dark Mist, which has no plans for USA release as confirmed here by SCEA's PlayStation Blog as of Comment #6, has once again recieved a "TBA 2008" listing under the USA column despite this.
My addition of the new title Pachipara Download Hyper Umi in Karipa, which debuted on July 2nd, 2008 in the Japanese regional PlayStation Store, has also been removed despite it being a PlayStation Network downloadable title for PS3. (Valery Faye (talk) 01:42, 3 July 2008 (UTC))

Music of drakengard
[edit]Well, if took me 1 entire year to get to it (User_talk:Kariteh/Archive2#Drakengard), but I finally did it. I opted for the in-page solution in the end, as both games have completely different musical feels, and artists. Also, as you may have noticed, I'd rather stay away from "Music of" articles now, as I think an album without a cover is a sad album. Sur ce, je voulais juste savoir si tu voulais y mettre un petit coup d'œil si tu penses qu'il y a des trucs à changer, genre le genre... Some of the things I put in might seem POV, but I think they are properly referenced. happypal (Talk | contribs) 11:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Game Prices Source Not WP:RS
[edit]You reverted some additions I had made to rare Super Nintendo game pages citing VGPC.com as a source. I read though the WP:RS for self-published sources (WP:V#SELF) and I think the site does qualify to be used as a source on these articles. Here is when wikipedia says they can be used "Self-published material may, in some circumstances, be acceptable such as when produced by an established expert on the topic of the article whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications". The site has been cited as a source on numerous other gaming sites including joystiq, kotaku, racketboy, and digitpress. All video game related sites and the last two specialize in classic games. I think the addition of the prices shows how popular and rare these games are.Jjgames (talk) 16:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Joystiq, Kotaku, Racketboy aren't reliable either (blogs). Dunno about Digitpress. Kariteh (talk) 17:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- What do you consider to be reliable video game publications and websites? A magazine called Video Game Trader uses our price guide for their publication. I would like to know which sites you would consider reliable though so I know for future reference. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjgames (talk • contribs) 21:35, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- The WP:RS page explains it pretty well (no blogs etc.). Kariteh (talk) 21:53, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I can understand the blogs. The 3rd party magazine using the prices is not a WP:RS. That reference would make the vgpc prices a reliable source then as well or at least as source that can be cited in wikipedia. If you still don't think it is a reliable source are you saying there is no reliable source for video game prices? Can they not ever be cited on a wikipedia page because there are other pages that do cite prices. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjgames (talk • contribs) 16:57, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: Final Fantasy X-2
[edit]I believe that the tone and the excessive amount of detail makes the article resemble that of a fan site. The tag is pretty self-explainatory. Besides I did not intend to use it with derogatory implications, I just think that it'll be better for the reader if the article was more succinct.--SilverOrion (talk) 23:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Multiple Game Articles
[edit]I saw many fansite listings in game articles on Wikipedia. I'm aware of the way Wikipedia organizes it's external links and in no way was looking to increase my search engine rankings. When I start a new game, I instantly look for a developed fansite around the game. I wanted to provide this information to others researching the game. I am also aware that Wikipedia is not a collection of links; I thought my contribution had some value to add. NoeJeko (talk) 21:15, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Stalking
[edit]It has come to my attention that I have been making edits on lots of pages you had recently edited. except for this one (your page was on my watchlist that day, due to the drakengard edit, and it caught my curiosity), all the others are complete coincidence. Especially this one, which I hadn't even noticed you had edited a couple hours before (and is kind of the reason I'm writing this). Anyways, I just didn't want to come off as spying your every move or anything.
- On a side note, I made an edit at Talk:Music_of_the_Final_Fantasy_series#Requested_moves you might want to look at, as it is the kind of thing you seemed involved in. I you too are a bit weary of the whole NFCC thing, then that's fine too. happypal (Talk | contribs) 09:09, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I didn't notice it, and your edits are perfectly fine anyway. Incidentally, I removed List of Sega Mega Drive games from my watchlist some time ago. I also removed the WP:NFCC page from my watchlist; the album covers should probably be removed but I prefer not to be the one to do the dirty work since the last time I mass-removed images there was a big clash with the project (it was a long time ago though). Kariteh (talk) 10:10, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I guess whoever does remove those images is going to take a lot of flak. I personally won't do it, because I value nice articles over a common licensed wikipedia (not quite the same as free). I saw you moved the Discography of Final Fantasy Chronicles article today. Seeing articles like this that I worked on stripped of all those things does kind of break my heart, but that's just the way it is. But I'm not here to quarrel. Nice work on the new Music of Final Fantasy article. It totally overwrote my previous edit, but the article is much better now. happypal (Talk | contribs) 10:37, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

I like Guyinblack25's edit with the release dates though (but it wouldn't really be practical to have all rows collapsible IMO). Kariteh (talk) 18:22, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Why are you removing a lot of the infobox information from the Final Fantasy articles? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 20:21, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm converting the old Designers fields into Designers/Writers/Artists/Composers fields as per the discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#Music credits being added to Designer and #Proposal; unfortunately, this involves trimming the red-link designers and not-well-known ones. Kariteh (talk) 20:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

- Would you do me a big favor and look over the references that I put on the Wikiproject Final Fantasy talk page and see which ones are notable and which ones not? I posted them there days ago and haven't heard a peep. I need to remove the bad references from the Final Fantasy (video game) article and add in good ones to keep it's GA status. - Thanks, that helps a ton :) I don't mean to dump this on you, but you seem so active lately that I thought what the heck. I noticed you merged the final fantasy magic article, and I would suggest that at this point, you have free reign to merge the rest into the Common elements article, which would be great, because then we could build it up. I'm going to de-list the character classes article, so there should be no road blocks to quickly merging and redirecting those articles into Common Elements. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 19:08, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, can an individual still de-list good articles, or does it have to go through GA review process? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 19:15, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

- A bit late, but I was lurking here- you can still unilaterally delist articles if they are already GA- GAR is for when either something was failed or delisted and you disagree, or when something was just Ga'd that you disagree with. It's generally only used for the first two, the last one is just in case of an edit war. --PresN (talk) 20:39, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I posted them there days ago and haven't heard a peep. I need to remove the bad references from the Final Fantasy (video game) article and add in good ones to keep it's GA status. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 00:30, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Gotcha, thanks for the heads up. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 21:04, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Chrono music
[edit]Do think that the two albums can reach GA/FA? Just wondering. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 02:58, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Probably. They are more well known than Xenogears and have even more "legacy" potential since they were played live in several tours. I also have a Brink of Time sandbox, though I'm not really sure on this one. Kariteh (talk) 08:20, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:World Destruction.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:World Destruction.jpg.
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Did you propose this change at WPSS? Category:Final Fantasy stubs was upmerged as the result of SFD, and it looks like it's not big enough to warrant a stand-alone category. Pagrashtak 06:50, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Ct-nuumamonjaa.jpg)
[edit]You've uploaded File:Ct-nuumamonjaa.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Image copyright problem with File:Dissidia cast.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dissidia cast.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Notability of The Unsung Heroes
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Unsung Heroes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Unsung Heroes is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Unsung Heroes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Samurai Shodown edit
[edit]Hello, I don't remember exactly what part of the article I edited, so if you could be so kind to tell me that I may back up or otherwise link sources to whatever I changed. I don't typically change more than spelling or the way something is read so the article is more clear, so getting this note is rather surprising.

guideline discussion
[edit]I'm contacting a few people who took an interest in the video games WikiProject guidelines last year, to let them know of a project I'm working on. It's strictly in the interest of collecting information, but I think that information could prove useful for refining our guidelines and policies.
Please check in at this discussion, if you find a moment. Thanks in advance, Randomran (talk) 19:15, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
You were upset when I merged all of the Chrono album/discography articles together, so I'm wondering what you think about the Music of Chrono Trigger article. I left all of the Chrono Trigger albums together, even though I thought the OSV was GA-able, as I didn't think there was enough information to take the "other three" albums to GA by themselves without piggybacking on the OSV album. --PresN 23:32, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Habit, I suppose- since the Final Fantasy music articles are termed "discographies" I always have people getting upset if I have more than one image. You're right though- it's discussed in the article, it's totally fine. I'll add it back in. --PresN 19:18, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I fixed some of the issues you brought up at Wikipedia:Featured article review/Final Fantasy and replied in regard to the others. Any other comments you have about the rest of the article would be appreciated as we've needed a fresh pair of eyes to go over the prose. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:53, 14 May 2009 (UTC))
- Kariteh- Even though the FAR has closed, I'd still appreciate an extra pair of eyes to copy edit the article. If you have the time of course. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC))
Vandalism?
[edit]Hello; I wanted to bring up an edit of mine that was recently reverted by you. A few weeks ago, I was reading through the article for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and I found that someone had changed the information a little bit. It was a simple joke; they changed the last part of the sentence under the "Characters" section to say, "The game will introduce a new type of enemy different from Heartless and Nobodies, known as the Inerts (アンバース ,Anbāsu?), those without balls." So, reading the information about the real name of these new enemies (Unbirths, as I found out), I deleted the joke and replaced it with the real information.
Then, awhile later, I found that I got a message from you saying that my editing was vandalism. I know you were just warning me and there weren't any consequences, but I would like to know how that was vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.85.251.44 (talk) 03:26, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of characters in SaGa Frontier
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of characters in SaGa Frontier. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of characters in SaGa Frontier. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Kariteh! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

I am guessing you are referring to the changes made on the William Oakland Round Barn page. I changed the page due to the incorrect information on the page. I am currently the owner of the barn and the property. The information is incorrect. The subject who designed and built the barn is listed as incorrect also. I changed the article to reflect the correct information. Check your facts before you start changing someone's article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.214.208.147 (talk) 13:55, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Fullmetal Alchemist 1 OST.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel#Audio. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article; so, omitting the file from the article will not be detrimental to the reader's understanding.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:30, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
