Thanks for the message on my talk page. Yes, Wikipedia's policies, guidelines and practices can be pretty daunting at the start, but you will soon get the hang of it. I am by no means the final authority on anything - we work by consensus here and I am but one of many thousands of editors, as you are. I do appear to be one of very few people who regularly patrol the Requests for feedback page and that's why you will see my signature all over that page. I have responded to your points about this article on its talk page. If you want further assistance, please post at the Requests for Editor Assistance page.
