No problem[edit]

Wikipedia has a variety of userboxes. Unfourtunately I cannot tell you the link as it's not off the top of my head and I am using PSP to respond to your message-~-~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by KingMorpheus (talkcontribs) 12:44, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, do what I do and rip off other people's designs--KingMorpheus (talk) 16:14, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Answer[edit]

Thanks for asking a question!
Just look at the syntax of these two userboxes by clicking "edit this page" on the userbox's page: Userbox 1 and Userbox 2. They look different, but the result is the same. You may want to try the second userbox option to create one since it looks easier. To create a userbox, the best thing is to copy the entire code, and place it on a new page, preferably in your userspace, so you can mess around with it as much as you want to. Then when you have what you want, you can make a userspace page for it. The userbox may be moved if you dont put it in your userspace, but it will still be on wikipedia. You can also place the userbox in a category, for other wikipedians to enjoy it. For anything else that I cannot think of at the moment, take a look at the userbox guideline here.
Again, thanks for asking, we are glad to help anyone out. Salisbury Steak (complaint dept. - contribs) 18:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AMC Image[edit]

Hi King Gemini,

Sorry for the very late reply; I don't have much time to check my page that often, and I guess there is no e-mail alert system, or if there is, I'm unaware of it. you may use the AMC pic; just let me know which one it is (if it's still relevant, at this point in time!)

Thanks,

Re: Legends of Wrestling game characters[edit]

No problem. I wanted to create a list so the whole lot wasn't just deleted and lost, hopefully this will be enough to keep the information in the public domain.

Please stop trying to push the line that Mo'Nique is the first black woman with a late night talk show. It isn't true. Whoopi Goldberg had one in the early 1990s. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 19:15, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're joking, aren't you? That's not a reliable source. Here's a news article from 1991 that mention's Goldberg's show. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:31, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of current UFC fighters[edit]

This list has a set policy, listed in it's talk page, under which all fighters are listed by their UFC roster names. IN the case of Quinton Jackson this is Rampage. While this may not make much sense for a fighter like him, whose real name is commonly known, for fighters like Cheick Kongo and Gleison Tibau it is necessary, and a consistent policy is more simple than a play it by ear system.Thaddeus Venture (talk) 13:00, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. I have recently gone through your soap opera userboxes and again removed all of the non-free images from them. Their use outside of articles which meet certain particular requirements fails our non-free image policy. Please read up on our Non-free image criteria, in particular point number 9. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. This point has already been referenced multiple times in the edit summaries of previous removals, so I trust it will not be necessary to repeat it again. Please do not add or change content, as you did to Hot for Teacher, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Yworo (talk) 22:51, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(From WP:IPC) Although some references may be plainly verified by primary sources, this does not demonstrate the significance of the reference. Furthermore, when the primary source in question only presents the reference, interpretation of this may constitute original research where the reference itself is ambiguous. If a cultural reference is genuinely significant it should be possible to find a reliable secondary source that supports that judgment. Quoting a respected expert attesting to the importance of a subject as a cultural influence is encouraged. Absence of these secondary sources should be seen as a sign of limited significance, not an invitation to draw inference from primary sources."

October 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Wild 'n Out. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, King Gemini. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Enemies Lists[edit]

Maintaining a list of Wikipedians with whom you are cool is cool. Maintaining a list of Wikipedians whom you don't like is uncool, especially if it is based on minor things that happened one-and-one-half years ago. See user page guidelines. Also, for an example of someone whom you may not remember, who was very good in diplomacy, that is, in dealing with potential real national enemies, but focused too much on personal enemies and was ruined by that, see Richard Nixon. Lucas Roberts -> Lucas Horton[edit]

Hi! Would you like to give your opinion on my proposal to move Lucas Roberts to Lucas Horton?
Talk:Lucas_Roberts#Requested_move_11_May_2017 Aliveness Cascade (talk) 12:52, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I noticed you've tried to move the page to Lucas Horton in the past, which I salute you for! I've had to put forward arguments on the talk page, in the hope of making it stick this time. All my arguments are there - but it just makes sense to me, and the facts back it up. The folks arguing for oppose are not putting forward rational arguments and the facts are not on their side, but they're voting for oppose anyway! So - it needs your vote - if you are still of the same mind. Here's an opportunity to get the change made. Thanks for your interest! Aliveness Cascade (talk) 17:53, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My view in a nutshell: "Lucas Horton" has been the character's name for nine years. It's common sense to locate it at Lucas Horton. It's crazy to have Will at Will Horton but his dad at Lucas Roberts. They should match! It's plain common sense! (And the google hit data says Lucas Horton is now the common name, so the opposition hasn't a leg to stand on). Aliveness Cascade (talk) 18:36, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copying licensed material requires proper attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in the recent addition Vice City (Grand Theft Auto fictional city) you copied material from the Grand Theft Wiki, which is available under a CC-by-SA Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:05, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your recent addition to Music in professional wrestling. A lot of the entries were unsourced or improperly sourced. For example, a link to an item for sale on Amazon. Also, it is impossible to maintain a list of every theme song that every wrestler has ever used. That's the very definition on WP:LISTCRUFT. Nikki311 13:18, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

March 2018[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at WWE Hall of Fame shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. LM2000 (talk) 05:31, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • There's a longstanding consensus that we only list the most prominent titles. Notice how Edge, who won basically everything there is to win, only mentions his world and tag titles, as well as KOTR, MITB and Rumble accomplishments? We don't have the space to list them all.LM2000 (talk) 05:33, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So basically you're saying that the European Championship and the Tag Team Championship are not prominent? What kind of wrestling fan are you? Or are you even a wrestling fan to begin with? If you are a wrestling fan, then you would know that Jeff Jarrett won the European Championship and the Tag Team Championship which should be shown as well. And how the hell can you not have the space to list all of Edge's accomplishments? That some bullshit, for real. The King Gemini (talk) 05:41, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It may be bullshit but that's just how it is. Scroll through the previous entries, most of them omit some titles.LM2000 (talk) 05:59, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And by the way, you listed all of Edge's accomplishments. So if all of his accomplishments can be listed, so can Jeff's, but you just don't want to. You're just like the others: Tenebrae, Nikkimaria, and Robert McClendon. You just don't like the fact that I make articles more truthful and correctly. The King Gemini (talk) 20:30, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to John Tenta, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:19, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:King Gemini.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal photo. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 17:18, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages are strictly for discussing the topic of their associated main pages and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about unrelated topics. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. – 2.O.Boxing 08:24, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
