PragerU RFPP

Hi Kingerikthesecond. As I pointed out, your request to fully protect PragerU seemed problematic. Thanks for removing it, but I hope you don't mind that I restored it and struck out your request instead. Removing others' comments can be problematic per WP:TALK. I'm happy to discuss this further if you'd like. --Ronz (talk) 17:59, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

I removed it again. I don't want it there. No reason for it to exist now that the page isn't going to be protected, and I also rushed the request by not looking at the situation more, as I had little time. I apologize. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 19:18, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the apology. I wish you hadn't chosen to edit-war to remove others' on-topic comments, especially after it was pointed out why. --Ronz (talk) 20:13, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Not edit warring. I am just trying to remove useless edits. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 20:30, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Bordeaux Airport

Hello, I'm going to change the Wikipedia page of the bordeaux airport again. Please don't change it this time. Respects the work of others.

This is real information and not spam! Edouard.saman (talk) 10:40, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Such links are not allowed here; you are a sock and must be reverted. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 11:31, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
You're a specimen yourself... loser like you, it's rare to find one. If you understood what I was doing, maybe you wouldn't do that shit. Edouard.saman (talk) 11:45, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
Maybe not insert spam links in the future? --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 11:45, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Question about the Israeli-Palestinian article blocking

Hello, did you request to block the Israeli-Palestinian article? --Banana19208 (talk) 13:55, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

The Sinai Peninsula one? Yes. It makes enough references to the Arab–Israeli conflict as well as the Israeli–Palestinian conflict to warrant an indefinite extended-confirmed protection. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 14:06, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Please do not move the article again. WP:NCMAC is still in effect and until the new Request for Comment is discussed and agreed, the current rules apply. --Michail (blah) 17:51, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Iran shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sukaphaa

Kindly increase the protection level for the page Sukaphaa as the editor Sairg involved in vandalism is an extended confirmed sock with another account Xishuang. There is an ongoing Sockpupettry investigation against the user. Thank youBarbariankiller456 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:40, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Sadly I am not able to do that since I am not an administrator. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 14:42, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Can you forward the request please as I am not aware of the proper procedure. Thank you Barbariankiller456 (talk) 15:03, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

I could try to make another protection request. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 15:18, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Ah you already made a new one. Good. Hopefully the disruptive editors gets a block. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 15:20, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

I would suggest you should avoid making edits to state-description infoboxes based on the opinions of random journalists in general. Simonm223 (talk) 18:01, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
I try my best to use articles that also have sources in them. If they don't have a source then I still kinda trust them anyways, depending on how much experience the journalist has at writing articles. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 18:06, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Journalism is a POV landmine and WP:NOTNEWS is policy, even if one mostly observed in its absence. Simonm223 (talk) 18:08, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
I understand, and I'll try my best to find better sources next time. I'm still an inexperienced editor, as I have only been here for a few months, so there is still lots for me to learn. Thank you for warning me so I didn't go overboard though. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 18:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Phyllis Chesler revert

Hi Kingerik,

Would you mind undoing your revert at Phyllis Chesler/removing the information? New/IP editors have been adding poorly-sourced information to this WP:BLP, and other IP editors were edit-warring with them, but I don't the information can stay in as its currently written or sourced. Jayjg (talk) 20:39, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Sure. I apologize for this problematic edit. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 20:41, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Alan Walker (music producer)

Are you saying Alan Walker isn't notable for being part English? I mean, come on, both his first and last names are English! — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobThomas15 (talkcontribs) 13:20, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Your edit is disputed, and you don't have the required consensus from the talk page. This has been discussed before, and the result was to state that he's Norwegian, not English-Norwegian, per WP:ETHNICITY, which means that you are possibly violating both the reached consensus and WP:MOS. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 13:23, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Sock tagging

May I ask why you tagged this and this after a checkuser found at least one of them to be unrelated to the master and Bbb23 explicitly said in both cases they were blocking without tags? Also concerned about this as blatant trolls and LTAs who get their joy from racking up hundreds and thousands of accounts don't tend to get tagged. I'd ask that you leave this to clerks, checkusers and patrolling admins, or at the very least, more experienced editors. Praxidicae (talk) 15:10, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Responding to ping, @Kingerikthesecond, I'll make it easier for you. Never tag socks; it's not something you should be doing.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:15, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Gatekeeping? I'll tag socks if they are confirmed to their master, or the edits is similar enough to a banned user. ANI Abuser is clearly a sock of BMX On WheeIs. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 15:28, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
I've reverted you there, again, as per Bbb23's clear instruction that you not tag socks. Praxidicae (talk) 15:30, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:

I only tried my best to help, and I tried to act in good faith. I was trying to learn more of Wikipedia's systems, which is why I experimented with sock tagging, as I like to fight vandalism and illegitimate sockpuppetry. I won't bother tagging socks again, as I am clearly not experienced for that job, to which I apologize. Kingerikthesecond (talk) 15:37, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

That doesn't explain why you continued with the edits you were told to stop after you acknowledged the message telling you to stop. stwalkerster (talk) 17:29, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
I admit I made a major mistake there, and I should have listened to orders. I just got offended because I can't do something I want to do, but I guess I went too far, and thus this punishment is perfectly legitimate. I deeply apologize for any disruption that I have unleashed on this Website, and I will stay away from making suchs edits for an indefinite time-period. I must thank you for this, actually, as noe I have learned that suchs actions by non-experienced users are against the rulebook, and violations of said rules carry hefty, but justifiable punishments. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 18:25, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Bot edit at Cruisers

This edit has been made at Cruiser by User:MusikBot, undoing the pp-sock template you put on the article, claiming it's not edit-protected. RobDuch (talk) 21:16, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Doesn't matter. Just removed the semi-protection template that I added, not thr pp-pc that I also added I think. Nothing to worry about here. :) --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 21:24, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
There's also no reason for you to go around adding the templates to pages. A bot does it eventually. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:04, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Aww, does everything have to be automated these days? :/ I wouldn't say my effort has been wasted though, as I have been thanked numerous times. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 08:39, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
I agree with Tony. Don't do it anymore. There are other things you can do that are more beneficial to the project.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:48, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Such as? I am not good at finding new information. Pretty much the only other things I do on this website are correcting spelling errors and revert vandalism and other disruptive edits. --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 13:52, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
But if you seriously want me to, then I'll stop. Nothing I can do about that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ --Kingerikthesecond (talk) 13:57, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Correcting spelling errors and reverting vandalism are both better uses of your time.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:59, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

April 18 Christian Moeller Revert

Hi Kingerikthesecond

The article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Moeller appears to be in an edit war, to avoid any further edit conflicts I am requesting that you revert the article to the revisions I have posted on the Talk Page[1], and that the changes noted are made for accuracy. These changes are being requested by the UCLA Design Media Arts faculty. Links have been provided for sourcing.

I believe your edits were based on unfounded concerns of sock puppetry that were previously resolved.

Thank you for keeping Wikipedia accurate and your prompt attention to the matter.

Umm...

What does Pearl Harbour have to do with D-Day? And when has Lubbad ever expressed an interest in Japan before? The comments were clearly meant to bait me. Whether or not it's "racist" to bait someone who isn't actually Japanese by randomly talking about those sneaky Japanese out of the blue (the attack on Pearl Harbor happened in December, not June) is frankly irrelevant -- not least because I didn't say it was. Hijiri 88 (やや) 14:37, 4 June 2019 (UTC) Forgive me, I thought you were talking about Pearl Harbour, I must have misread. I rescind my support. --Erik (ここで私と話してください) 14:42, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

We would still like to shine a light on our active medical community, which you are more than welcome to join. As a participant you can ask questions and get help about best practices on editing any health or medical article — on our talk-page. We are a (mostly) collegial bunch, and I do hope you feel welcome to participate. Currently there are two active communities:

Your edit to SwissArmyGuy's talk page

This edit. Please don't do that. Commenting on a blocked user's talk page about their block is considered inappropriate, especially since SwissArmyGuy was blocked for harassing you (yes, even saying "Interesting" is inappropriate since their actions toward you led to the original block). Since you had problematic interactions with that editor, I'd suggest just ignoring them entirely - unwatch their talk page and move on with life. creffett (talk) 12:34, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

India

May I request that you revert you edits to the lead of the India page? India is Wikipedia's oldest FA. The lead was rewritten for the page's second WP:TFA appearance on 2 October 2019, Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. Preparations for the revision began with this announcement in July 2019; the various drafts through the final were completed here in August 2019. The article was then edited by user:TwofingeredTypist, the Coordinator of Wikipedia's League of Copy editors. I understand that you feel very strongly about your changes; but please note that space in the lead is at a premium; the phrasing was chosen with a lost of thought and care. It summarizes what is already in the Ancient India section. Best regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 14:10, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

If you are that adamant about it, sure, but none of those reasons are valid reasons for bad language. I am not to blame here. If I see bad wording, I try to fix that issue. I still believe "periods of migration" flows better, as it does not imply the migrations happened instantly, like the original phrasing does. But so be it; I clearly have no rights to comment on this matter. --KingErikII (Talk page) 14:15, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
With the detailed quotes in place now in each citation, I don't think anyone will comprehend the migrations to be instantanous. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 14:20, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
"Arrived" is stated without much context, and implies there was only a single migration, which is something we both disagree with. "Periods of migration" flows better and makes it easier for the readers to understand that there were several migrations happening over long periods of time, not just a single migration which happened quickly/instantly as the original phrasing implies. --KingErikII (Talk page) 14:23, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
How about: (In the lead) "Modern humans from Africa had arrived on the Indian subcontinent by 55,000 years ago?" Short and sweet.
In the Ancient India section: By 55,000 years ago, modern humans, or Homo sapiens, had arrived on the Indian subcontinent in the first of several waves of migration from Africa, where they had earlier evolved. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 17:02, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
I think that phrasing is better than the current one. Short as sweet, as you said. I do think you made a good point earlier when you mentioned the quotes in the citations, but let's be realistic: How many readers are actually going to read them? Anyway, I will stop commenting on the matter as my opinions hold less weight than yours. --KingErikII (Talk page) 17:12, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Genshin Impact

Why did you revert my edit, the edit i made was officially correct as no such source was mentioned according to what was said? EzeeWiki (talk) 16:17, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

miHoYo wanted to make Genshin Impact different from Honkai Impact 3rd, which is clearly implied in the given source. Honkai Impact 3rd is not directly mentioned in the source, yes, but it is still mentioned in the Development section of the Genshin Impact Article, so readers get a clear understanding of the developer's evolution. The provided source backs up this implication, and for now I see no reason to change it. --KingErikII (Talk page) 16:27, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
You can only use what was said in official sources, miHoYo has never mentioned Honkai Impact 3rd while developing Genshin Impact, the source given had never mentioned Honkai Impact 3rd. so mentioning it is incorrect. EzeeWiki (talk) 16:30, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Plus i have already spoken to admins about this. EzeeWiki (talk) 16:32, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Interesting. I have no arguments when it comes to this, and therefore it would be pointless for me to join the discussion. If a category I established is to be deleted, so be it. I have no rights to object to that decision, and I have no powers to stop it either. Me participating in the discussion is irrelevant because the outcome is already clear. Based on previous rulings, categories like these were deemed to be unhelpful and unnecessary, thus warranting deletion. I must thank you, however, of notifying me of this, so I do not become confused when links in the userboxes I created turn red. --KingErikII (Talk page) 21:56, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Aloy Impact

Page involved: Characters of Genshin Impact

Aloy, which was created by a European game developer has been added to Teyvat as a playable character.

Mind if put her status there as a 'partially playable' character as players on some platforms (likely PlayStation) are currently the ones who claimed her? or just put a note and list her as 'playable' instead. Thanks.

User:Ahthga YramTalk with me! I want to change my name! 12:08, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello there. I see where you are coming from, but I believe "Partially playable" would be redundant, as Aloy will not be exclusive to Playstation players. Players who play Genshin Impact on another device will be able to claim the character in the 2.2 update, which should be around 4 or 5 weeks away at this point. --KingErikII (Talk page) 12:11, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Alongside from the Aloy thing I think characters of the game will unlikely have a stand-alone wiki page, being Venti and Raiden Shogun's chance to have one very unlikely. In the revenue thing on the reception thing the nearest available source of how many dollars they've raked is from Reddit and user-generated content, which is not acceptable under WP:RS unless it will be used as an external link. In terms of character background I find some but most of them, according to search results, are only about how to build that character thing and tips and tricks. The draft may fail notability and source guidelines and may be deleted. User:Ahthga YramTalk with me! I want to change my name! 14:53, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

I do agree that reliable sources are difficult to find, and I doubt the draft will get approved any time soon. IGN is listed as a reliable source, but I am unsure about how much of IGN is considered to be reliable. For now I will continue trying to improve the draft, even if it might not lead anywhere. --KingErikII (Talk page) 15:14, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
....'how much of IGN is considered to be reliable'. How about telling its further reliability at the sources noticeboard or in the Teahouse? User:Ahthga YramTalk with me! I want to change my name! 02:02, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
Good idea. I will open a thread about it later today. --KingErikII (Talk page) 06:58, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

Edit warring on Moldova

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Re: Shogun

The original article had a Nihongo template in there, which is why it got missed for so long. Not a lot of Chinese-video game originating characters on wikipedia as you can imagine. :P Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:19, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Right, that checks out. Thanks for notifying me about it! --KingErikII (Talk page) 01:20, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Your comment on Talk:Donald Trump

Hi, you seem to have accidentally removed many comments when adding to the page. Would you mind fixing it? Thanks Firestar464 (talk) 22:11, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Uh, that is weird. No idea how that happened, and I'm not sure how to revert the changes given the high amount of traffic. A pure mistake. --KingErikII (Talk page) 22:12, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
I genuinely have no idea what happened here, as I did not touch any other parts of the talk page besides the section I was editing. Did a weird edit conflict happen? --KingErikII (Talk page) 22:17, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
Possibly you were viewing an old diff when you clicked "edit", and didn't notice the "You are editing an old revision of this page" warning. It happens. Thanks for cleaning up! Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 22:33, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
Probably, yeah. I did my best, and I'm glad things seem to be fine now. --KingErikII (Talk page) 22:34, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
