You are responsible for yourself

[edit]

Good Morning It is another beautiful day and beautiful whether, but not beautiful transportation. The jam has increased in Cheras area, the train is supper full than ever before. I had no chance to turn around today in the train. So when we arrived at our destination I asked my friend why it was too crowded today because I have never seen it before. He said; “Because it is Ramadan (fasting month). Most drivers took leave. So I shall expect the same thing for the one month period”. We ended the conversation. But what I want to address is not about transport, it is about “dangerous decision made by Youth”. For the past three years I have study how young adults think! With patience, I did a research. I made friendship with them, read different websites and articles and below is what I found out:

Fear: Maybe the society environment of family teaches us to develop fear. Fear is the result of having doubt. Doubts in our physical look, our financial status then fear of our future. All this imagination affects the decisions we end up making. Culture: Large percent of young adult’s decisions are influenced by culture. For instance academically most of them choose their courses not because they like, but the people in society will laugh at her or him for choosing arts than science. My friend from Oman once told me; “even if I have passion with nursing I have to do engineering otherwise people at home will talk about me” Peer groups: The people around us or we hang out with affect the decisions we make. Sometimes back my cousin wanted to go for driving only because every 18 years old boy drives in town. Question; what happens next? Do we even have time for ourselves? Do we realize that if anything happens we are responsible for? We are who we choose to be, you are responsible for yourself. Khadija Amri.

“If what desirable is not available then make available desirable”

[edit]

Perhaps not so many of us can understand the nature of the things we do, give and receive daily. I am one of them (who) thought I should carry on to what I want even if the situation did not allow that. Or sometimes you have had a plan but you don’t feel like delaying it meanwhile a current situation wants you to delay your plan and work for it. All these are about our desires and availability. Few days ago in the office I learnt that it’s actually called delay gratification. The ability to delay your desires and satisfy it later, to fulfill the present task or circumstance. Some decades ago a group of psychologists from Stanford University conducted an intriguing experiment regarding self-discipline. They gathered a random group of children and assigned them a simple task. They presented them a marshmallow and they had a simple choice. Either they could eat it right away OR they could wait for fifteen minutes and they would get two of them! Most of the children could not wait 15 minutes. Even though they would get two marshmallows instead of just one. Some tried to resist in agony before giving in. But a few of them waited the whole fifteen minutes. The interesting part is, those that waited turned out the be the most successful in life. [Source: http://selfdisciplinehowto.com/self-discipline-howto-delayed-gratification-and-marshmallows/ ]. I believe this concept can help out those who are confused on whether to go for Desires or Availability. Remember there is no right or wrong. Khadija Amri.

A heart, the agent to the eyes

[edit]

If there is something I ever wish for, is the access to science. I wish I could be able to add or reduce whatever I see is missing or exceeds. According to Aristotle who made a huge contribution in both science and arts, He explained sense organs in Animals (including us). There are five sense organs which are Eyes, Nose, Ear, tongue and skin. May be if I was born at that time I could suggest to him to consider Heart as well. Each organ plays an important role in our body and if it is missing human feels some degree of incompleteness. Well today I want to discuss little about heart, an organ that is mostly related to illness. Most of the times when you see or read articles and news about Heart are Heart attack, Heart feeling or heart broken. Why I think heart should be considered as a sense organ? 1. A heart sees more than the eyes. You may recall any situation and think for a moment. You will second my views. Most of the times our hearts see a scenario then tells the eyes after brain interpretation. The eyes can accept or deny it but will always give credit to the heart. Sometimes we see characters in people but if our hearts reject them then the eyes are left with no choice. 2. A heart feels and cries too. I know it sounds crazy but give a second thought. How many times have we pretended in public that we are okay with fake smiles but all the truth is in hearts? Especially emotions, the tears and pains in hearts is more stronger than in the eyes. 3. Detection. The way a tongue detects to a bitter taste, a skin to a texture and a nose to a smell. Similarly, a heart detects in its own way. It detects to a danger or a stranger. So what? Consideration that is all I want. I suggest people should not ignore their hearts message even if their eyes see differently. The heart is the agent to the eyes. Khadija Amri.

Enemies of Africans

[edit]

For the period of 25 years old of my life, I tried to discover who I am and what do I have to offer to other living. The journey was not possible without sacrifice some of my qualities to study others’. A commencement started with me as follows: "I am intelligent, I am beautiful, Creative I am not perfect, I am a very understanding person, in short I am different". When my mind told me all these, the world said not real.... you are not. I know myself better than any other being. I trust myself because it’s me. So the war started between me and the world. In the middle of the fight I met hundreds of other fellow Africans whom few we shared common attitudes but majority were not. Unexpectedly, the war took a new course. The few mates showed no interest in unity. They became against me so I now had to fight with two worlds. The earlier world found no more interest to fight with two members of one family. So the war is now between me and my fellow sister and brother. Towards the end of our intra-war I found out the following, which I called them as the enemies of Africans: Africans do not hold themselves in any standards. We always think that we are Losers, we are always with faults, we are not decent, and have no morals. We are not sure of who we are and what do we want in this life. In general a negative thinking and perception to ourselves are the enemies of Africans. Khadija Amri

About kjournaliste

[edit]

I am the first born in a family of five children. My father is a Finafinancial Analyst by profession and my Mother is a retired nurse.

I love to tell stories, and I believe am excellent at that angle. Writing and Journalism skills started to show up way back in Secondary school. I could Simply make a narration that would drive my teacher to believe it's true.

The talent continued to my university level to the point where, few lectures would asked me; "Where did you get this story"?

I must say I love my *I am different * attitude. I so much believe in myself. It doesn't scare me to see many are following road A and am in the road B, as long as I know it's a correct path for me. This is a site that believes in a "Re-calculation". I believe nothing stays in the same phase forever. Human beings are gifted with intelligence; WE must use it to re-look & re-calculate our daily circumstances.

Welcome to my site and let's Re-calculate together.

When You Fail Yourself

[edit]

Few days, I was talking to my younger brother who is also our last born. Everybody knows how the youngest behave. They like to complain, sleep a lot, play a lot In general too lazy. One thing for sure they are guaranteed is, there will always be someone who will be there for them. Personally how I see it is different. The world is too risk to forget about yourself. If you can't remind yourself, force or attempts self evaluation, Simply you have failed yourself. What happen when you fails your own dreams??? The world will take a control, you will become a victim. Have a tendency of making up for yourself because for sure there is no one for you. Tchao!

WHY I CHOSE MASS COMMUNICATION?

[edit]

FOR MY FELLOW GRADUATES.

Being a graduate is probably the most difficult step in a career journey. It is the moment where the world introduces you with the millions of offers and actually forces you to take them because all the employers know that you are looking for something. It’s always important for a graduate to know what you want. What is your passion! Have you ever recognized it/them? Why did you choose that field? – Have you come across the question “why did you choose [for instance] Mass Communication”? If not; you should have known before even you come to the working place. In one of my Interview which was done through Skype I was asked why I chose Mass Communication. This is very clear and simple question but when you come to think about it….It’s more than what you think it is. I won’t tell you how accurate or incorrect I responded to this question but I will definitely briefly explain why I pointed out offers and something in the above paragraph which I am sure most of graduates misunderstand. Offers: If you are a literate you will second me that the world is the best place to be because it has varieties of offers. We have so many options to utilize before our goals. It is the only place which can give you another means; different from what you were specifically looking for.
