Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page William Martin (garden designer) has been reverted.
Your edit here to William Martin (garden designer) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.flickr.com/photos/federaltwist/sets/72157641035355594/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an image file on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable image.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:09, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, William Martin (garden designer). While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. — Lauritz Thomsen (talk) 13:38, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?

[edit]

Given that all of your edits to date have been about one topic, William Martin (garden designer), and you have added a photo of Martin taken years ago as your own work, what is your personal connection to Martin? If you know him personally, you should declare that on your User page. If you are being paid or otherwise compensated, then WP:PAID applies. David notMD (talk) 10:14, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia asks for transparency for COI, demands it for paid. If neither apply, just say so. David notMD (talk) 19:14, 31 July 2020 (UTC) not paid[reply]

Kwaizzz (talk) 20:35, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kwaizzz: now that you have disclosed a COI on your user page, please don't edit the page directly. You can use the talk page to request any desired edits.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 03:30, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Kwaizzz! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at William Martin (garden designer) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 07:20, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
