Hi Lasersharp, thanks for your contributions on the Concerts section. The night after I'd put it up there, I was thinking of adding something about the full feather headdress (so cute!), but by the morning you'd covered it. What did you mean by the "burnt cheek" look, please? As you can tell, the '98 concerts are a gap in my knowledge! Kind regards, Fayenatic london 22:58, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see someone has reverted the character you changed in "tian hou". They only left an IP number; maybe you did it yourself. The original (and reverted) character 後 is the Simplified Chinese character for the same word written 後 in traditional Chinese. I don't know very much Mandarin but am starting to learn a very little! I found a complete list of Simplified characters with Traditional equivalents here but the website is showing the wrong page at the moment -- check back in a few days, as I have reported it to the author. Kind regards, Fayenatic london 23:16, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I note you've been busy on our favourite article today - good work. May I ask why you changed the simplified character to the traditional one within the template:zh-tsl (traditional, simplified, literally) for 天後? If you click on you will see that 后 is the simplified character for the same word. I thought that listing both traditional and simplified would satisfy everyone. The article currently states that the simplified and traditional are the same, which is incorrect. - Fayenatic london (talk) 19:20, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks, I've reverted it now. This was the edit that I was referring to, although the character was then changed a few more times by other editors through the day! Fayenatic london (talk) 21:57, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's done it again! At least I know now that it's not an edit war if I put it back. As for the Olympic story, I found what I think is a better source, and put that sentence back too. - Fayenatic london (talk) 07:30, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, fine. I thought it was odd that sina.com and the one that I quoted both gave CRI as their source, but I could not find the story at CRI - perhaps they withdrew it. The story has been rumoured for a long time (I first read it months ago in French at the Three Divas forum) but perhaps it was nothing more than a rumour. - Fayenatic london (talk) 09:48, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, do you have a source for your latest edit? By the way, you can link to "Wishing We Last Forever". - Fayenatic (talk) 07:33, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. - Lasersharp (talk) 08:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I were you, I'd give up on the "philanthropist" tag. Although she does good work for charity, it's not what Faye is famous for. - Fayenatic (talk) 08:53, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese wikipedia[edit]

Hi again, do you use the Chinese wikipedia enough to be able to propose deletion of zh:虹萱 as non-notable, please? I think the English article should be deleted, but the case would be clearer if the Chinese one had been deleted. - Fayenatic london (talk) 17:46, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Chang[edit]

Hi, I've created a new article on Phil Chang, based on Google and Babelfish translations of zh:張宇. I'd be grateful if you would take a look and correct anything that I got wrong! By all means add to it if you like. Cheers, Fayenatic london (talk) 21:38, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seediq Bale[edit]

Hello, I think Seediq Bale the film should be article Seediq Bale and the album should be Seediq Bale (album). Although the film does not begin its production yet, the trailer of the film was released in 2003. ChthoniC's album was inspired by director Wei's 5-minute trailer.--Fauzty (talk) 00:29, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Taiwan's Facebook penetration[edit]

According to the source you have provided: "Facebook Inc’s penetration rate in Taiwan is higher than in any other Asian market, said Dan Neary, vice president of the social networking giant’s Asia-Pacific marketing team, who arrived in the country on Tuesday... That figure represents the highest penetration rate in Asia, edging out Hong Kong — with about 58 percent — for the top spot. Facebook’s overall penetration rate in the region at the end of last year was 6.5 percent." The source doesn't state that Taiwan has the highest penetration in the world, it only mentions that within Asia, it has the highest penetration. --benlisquareTCE 03:12, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

InFocus phones[edit]

Hi Lasersharp

After having the InFocus page open for a couple days, I went to edit it to add mention of its partnership with FIH Mobile.

Lo and behold, I see in the edit box that the info has already been added, with the same source as I intended to use, to boot!

For a second I thought maybe I had typed it and blacked out. Too funny.

ITN[edit]

LaserSharp, hello,

Could you get involve into this light edit war. I find the point to delete this event quite light:

  • saying I'am a pro-palestinian pushing palestinian propaganda
  • saying "it's not a major news".

I on my side think it's both shocking and worth mentioning, since there are there filmed extra-judicial executions of citizens, claimed to be 15 & 17. Cheer, Yug (talk) 12:48, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hong Kong protests[edit]

I don't believe I've ever come across another editor like you. I've now "expanded" the section with a holding sentence or two, knowing that you objected to the bare refs. Those were doing no harm yet you refused my the courtesy. Please don't go deleting again now, maybe because it's a short section – there's more to come. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 07:17, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've never seen people putting bare links like you've done. Why not add some content along with the refs in the first place? Lasersharp (talk) 07:24, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jot[edit]

Please read MOS:DAB. Disambiguation entries should have only one navigable link, which should go to a page that actually has information on the entry. Entries should be as short as possible, only just enough to identify the correct page to the reader. Nothing else belongs on the page. SpinningSpark 16:59, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Mark II (robot)[edit]

The article Mark II (robot) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not yet notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Opinion needed[edit]

Hello. We have two discussions pending in the capital punishment talk page for which I would like to have your opinion:

  1. On the creation of a section about deterrence (Talk:Capital punishment#Deterrence).
  2. On the deletion of a section about the Tang Dynasty (Talk:Capital punishment#Tang Dynasty).

I believe your opinion would be wise on these two issues, because you are Taiwanese, and because you made last year a contribution about deterrence in the same article.

But that's only a proposal, don't feel compelled to intervene. I would perfectly understand you decline to do so.

Thank you.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:03, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Getac[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Getac, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
