Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Leuser500! I am Yousaf465 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Proposed deletion of Leuser Ecosystem[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Leuser Ecosystem, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

I'm not seeing the difference between this and Gunung Leuser National Park.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Please do not[edit]

  • Leaves messages at the article talk page - try Matt's talk page please. If you are going to create new articles - WP:RS, WP:V are important as well as categories, and project tags - without them speedy deletions are that much easier SatuSuro 03:06, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Leuser500,

First, when you're leaving messages on a person's talk page, it's customary to add your comments to the bottom of the page, not the top -- this makes it easier to spot. There's a "new section" tab at the top of the page that makes this that much easier.

Second, concerning the Leuser Ecosystem article, I'm not sure that I agree with your assertions, but I don't have the wherewithal to defend myself on that claim, so I'll leave the article alone for the time being. However, I would ask that you improve the article past the point that it is right now to make it more encyclopedic. Thanks, Matt (talk) 04:12, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hello, Leuser500, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! SatuSuro 04:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Try checking the links[edit]

In both welcome pages - please note that

  1. It is less important to create all the links - more important WP:RS

Best thing is to look around the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Indonesia - Indonesia project for similar articles and see how they are made SatuSuro 04:26, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
