Deletion discussion about Carmen Lynch[edit]

Hello, Lhimec,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Carmen Lynch should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Carmen Lynch .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Heilung[edit]

Hello Lhimec,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Heilung for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Notice

The article Ross Mihara has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only primary sources, a search of literature finds no strong secondary sources either.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Elegy for al-Andalus moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Elegy for al-Andalus, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of colleges and universities in California, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alameda (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Presbyterian Church in Korea (Koshin)[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Presbyterian Church in Korea (Koshin) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Kosin Presbyterian Church in Korea. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Elegy for al-Andalus, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:43, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Just a quick note for you about how categorization works on Wikipedia, because I've had to correct your edits to Djalal Ardjoun Khalil twice.

The rule on Wikipedia is that people go in the most specific appropriate categories, not every parent category up the same tree. That is, if a person is already in Category:Government ministers of Chad, then she does not also go in Category:Chadian politicians at the same time; if she is already in Category:Chadian women in politics, then she does not also go in Category:Women in politics at the same time; and if she's in any Chad-specific politicians category, then she does not also go directly into Category:Politicians alongside it. So please don't readd the categories that I've removed, because that's not how we categorize people.

Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 15:21, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A good idea that creates lots of work for others is not a good idea[edit]

When you decided that Cantillation was a broader subject than just Hebrew cantillation you were undoubtedly correct. And the current Cantillation seems to show that.

But when you did not do the work of repairing all the previous uses of Cantillation by updating to the new link Hebrew cantillation, you left a *lot* of work for "someone else" to do. In fact, the instructions tell you to check how a link is used before breaking usages.

There are currently 260 links to Cantillation. Let's see...

After reviewing the list and picking several at random, the overwhelming majority were usages of what is now Hebrew cantillation. Note that there are several occurrences like Cantillation#Names and shapes of the ta'amim, where it is now pure misdirection.

Now lest you think I'm exaggerating, look, I found one, and a second, of the 260 links, that aren't about Hebrew cantillation.

There's another use which I can't figure out what they intended. That's it, three.

So that's 1%? You've messed up 99% of the usages of the original Cantillation. Was this the benefit to Wikipedia you imagined? Shenme (talk) 06:33, 17 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Célestine Olibé Trazéré[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Célestine Olibé Trazéré. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Célestine Trazéré. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Célestine Trazéré. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JTtheOG (talk) 10:12, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
