Thanks for the message. A few questions: - Is it sufficient when reverting to leave the Edit Summary box as is? There is already information automatically filled in. - Similarly, when I'm logged in, don't my changes get signed automatically? (i.e. without including the Tildes). Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lightspeedchick (talkcontribs).

No, the system never signs your changes automatically; you have to do that yourself with ~~~~. It looks like you're doing fine with the edit summaries. When you're reverting simple/obvious vandalism, it's not necessary to fill in any details. For content changes, or when the reason for the edit isn't necessarily clear, you should try to explain it in the summary. If you want the system to remind you to always fill in a summary, you can go to "My preferences", click the "Editing" tab, and check on "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 00:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's some advice about how to warn people about their vandalism: Wikipedia:Vandalism. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 00:20, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again...one more suggestion. When you post to talk pages, new comments should go to the bottom of the page, not the top. The easiest way to do that is to add a new message by clicking the "+" button at the top of the page. You can find more talk page suggestions here: WP:TALK. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 03:55, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha. Thanks :) --lightspeedchick 04:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya.

[edit]

Noticed your extremely impressive edit count from looking at Minda's Inky World's history - and a number of them seem to have come from new page patrol/speedy deletion. I recently discovered NPWatcher, and for any NP patroller, it's definitely worth a look. Since you have over 250 edits, you could try it out - you might be interested. Anyway, nice to see some more people keeping up the fight. Regards, --Wooty Woot? contribs 04:50, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

try noobsandwoot@hotmail.com. I haven't touched the Source engine with a 10 foot pole, but I've done plenty of mapping for Q3 engine and Alamo (Empire at War). -Wooty Woot? contribs 01:02, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added you to the list, you should now be able to run the program. If you have questions, feel free to ask me. —— Eagle101 Need help? 21:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edward Catich

[edit]

It seems to me that someone who marks the "Edward Catich" page for deletion due to "notability" has failed to do even a cursory due diligence check on any one of the numerous search engines available to the public, and perhaps ought to take her finger off the bot-trigger and actually do work. → (AllanBz 14:08, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schools

[edit]

Hi LSC -- fyi, articles about schools are not eligible for speedy deletion per db-group. Basically the policy is to put up with a lot of lameness there, for educational purposes. Regards, looie496 (talk) 00:25, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I put in a notability maintenance tag by mistake. I meant to put in an "unsourced" maintenance tag. Tagging now. --lightspeedchick (talk) 00:54, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Little context in Nick Lewis

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Nick Lewis, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Nick Lewis is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Nick Lewis, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Questions

[edit]

I have two questions, both for curiosity's sake: 1) About the above comment regarding the Nick Lewis page: why would this comment have been put here? I didn't create the page or ever edit as far as I remember. 2) For my own information: It seems the new page Handedness and Mathematical Ability doesn't belong on Wikipedia, or should be changed in some way in order to be appropriate for the encyclopedia. However, I can't figure out what guideline it violates. It's essay-like in tone, but it's not really an essay as it doesn't convey an opinion. Can an experienced editor shed some light please? Thanks.lightspeedchick (talk) 00:46, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With Nick Lewis, it seems you tagged it using npwatcher, then it was deleted while you tried to tag it again, resulting in you accidentally recreating it.--Jac16888 (talk) 00:55, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, wrote the URL wrong. Here it is: Handedness and mathematical ability. Thanks for your answers! lightspeedchick (talk) 00:56, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Handedness and mathematical ability

[edit]

Yeah, links are usually case sensitive, that's why it was showing up as a red link. That looks decent as it cites sources. It could use a copy edit and expansion, but I think that one's salvageable. Copyvios

[edit]

{{helpme}} Expressionism in the pantocrator is a pure copy-paste from http://www.public.iastate.edu/~tart/fall2003arth280website/middlelatebyzantine.html. However, the author cites this webpage as a source. Is it therefore copyvio? Thanks.lightspeedchick (talk) 03:11, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was this put up for delation

[edit]

Hello, I was wondering why the article List of Australian Army Cadet units across Australia was deleted. Even though the British one is still going why was this one deleted. As I believe that the article should be up not only for reference but even for people to see and find out.

  • The article shows the diverse locations of Australia
  • It can help people finding a unit they would like to join
  • It can be used for research very well.

If you havent already read the Australian Army Cadets article I suggest you do see what cadets is all about and how important it is to Australia.Pattav2 (talk) 08:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
