I just joined the site today, I don't know what I'm doing. I should have read the material that was posted on my talk page instead of continuing to vandalize an article. I'd like to be given a chance before a year block is put in place. This is not fair for a new user to wikipedia, I want to learn how to use it properly. I understand I can't mess with articles, I need some help on how to make constructive edits before doing so. I should have looked at this before editing. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. 4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from [[exact Name of Article]]; see that article's history for attribution."
5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: {{reflist-talk}}. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
- If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

I have provided you with a process above through which you can take the time to learn more about Wikipedia and then demonstrate a substantive edit you would make(more than fixing spelling or grammar) to an article of your choosing. You are free to decline to make use of it and attempt to convince another administrator to unblock you without doing so, if you wish, but demonstrating something you would do will help. You have the chance to review some of the guidelines and policies now, you don't need to be unblocked to do that. You had your chance to experiment with using Wikipedia and got blocked as a result. In order to unblock you, an administrator must be assured that doing so will benefit the encyclopedia. You can provide that assurance by doing as requested above.
