If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bert oliva, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. andy (talk) 23:49, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Bert Oliva requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

March 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Humanology requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and give your reasons on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. redlock (talk)

The article Bert Oliva has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. —C.Fred (talk) 22:51, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful copying text from other websites[edit]

Your addition to Humanology has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. —C.Fred (talk) 19:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hold On[edit]

I am the copyright holder??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ltothej (talkcontribs)

The page in question [1] bears the notice "© TED Conferences, LLC." Now, it's a bio of Alexa Oliva, so it's reasonable to assume that Ms. Oliva holds the copyright to the text. If that's you, then you have a huge conflict of interest with the Bert Oliva and Humanology articles. If it's not you, then I find the claim dubious that you are the copyright holder. —C.Fred (talk) 20:12, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop![edit]

Please stop adding random links to the Bert Oliva article - you are not doing the article any favours by bombing it with promotional material. Another editor was working on it to try to clean it up in hopes of it avoiding deletion, but you keep adding wads of promotional links and material. I understand that you are a big fan of Oliva, but your editing is not helping in making the article appear less promotional. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize; its not meant to promote him, those are just the sites that further explain the individual topics... Thats all i can find on the internet so far...

How to i show pictures? I have pictures that validates most if not all of this article... -Author — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ltothej (talkcontribs)

The problem is, we're looking for independent sources. One of the two videos you put up is from Bert Oliva's YouTube account; accordingly, it is not independent (it's self-published). —C.Fred (talk) 20:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You don't want to add everything you can find on the internet in to the article, you want to include specific pertinent information regarding who the individual is and what makes them notable. Each fact should be supported by a reliable source, not blogs, self-published sources, or promotional material. To be honest it would be best if you would cease editing the article altogether for now in order to allow it to be cleaned-up to meet Wikipedia standards. If there is additional information you think is pertinent you could post it on the article talk page. Are you at all affiliated with Bert Oliva? Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 20:15, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you are discussing some of the proposed materials on the talk page, which is great; we can continue the conversation there. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 20:19, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:13, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Humanology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Should have been speedied as articlespam. Clearly exists solely to promote this psychobabble nonsense; unsourced with no demonstration of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ukexpat (talk) 17:33, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Humanology, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

I dont appreciate every single day getting like 5 notifications of this. yes, i know, its been on the speedy deletion page or whatever... IM WORKING ON IT. Your help would be much appreciated. --Ltothej (talk) 17:40, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note that it is considered best practice to notify article creators when their articles are nominated for any type of deletion in order to given them time to address the issues raised, so please assume good faith that the notifier is acting in your best interest in adding the template to your page. At times the message is provided through an automated process such as Twinkle and not placed by a specific editor. In addition, the notification is with regard to Humanology, not the Bert Oliva article which you have been working on improving over the past couple of days. I understand that Wikipedia can be confusing with its multiple policies and somewhat complicated guidelines, but ultimately we are trying to help you work the articles in to a state that is compliant with these policies. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:56, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...okay. So Ponyo... do you suggest i just focus on bert oliva right now and then humanology later? or just intergrate the humanology page on the bert oliva page? --Ltothej (talk) 18:13, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Humanology article has been deleted for the reasons outlined by JohnCD below. As others are working on the Oliva article, I would suggest discussing what you think needs to be included or tied up on the talk page when necessary, but to let others shape it into compliance with Wikipedia guidelines.Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:27, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion[edit]

Hello Ltothej. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 18:17, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted this article under speedy deletion criterion G4 as a repost of material deleted at a deletion discussion. Articles with this title have been deleted three times before, the second time after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Humanology. Although the text is different in detail, it is clearly the same subject (Bert Oliva's invention), and I do not think this version overcomes the reasons for deletion at the AfD discussion - this is a proprietary neologism, with no evidence of widespread use in secondary sources, i.e. sources unconnected with the originator and its practitioners. JohnCD (talk) 18:17, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
