"Article spam"

"Keep - I agree that improvements are needed, but the issue is is this article spam, and is this school notable. I don't think the article is spam and I believe the allegation is ridiculous. The school is definitely notable because of the IB degree (only available at this campus in the district), and I can confirm the GRAMMY Signature school recommendation, I live in the area and also know the band director.-MBK004 01:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)"

I need help

{{helpme}}On my userpage, the Novice Editor Service Badge is displayed in a position I don't want it in. I would like it moved to the extreme right of the page at the same position it is in. In other words, on the other side of the contents box at the right side of the page, as an Image would be manipulated if it were not in a gallery. That was great! You'll see I asked the same thing with the 1934 $100,000 Gold certificate as well. I guess there is hope one of the 64-D Peace Dollars made it out just like the 1933 Double Eagles. To me, an authentic 64-D Peace Dollar is the 'Holy Grail' and would interest me even more than any more newly-discovered authentic '33 Double Eagles (I favor American silver coins over gold coins).-MBK004 00:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Assessments for WP:SHIPS

Hello. Thanks for all your hard work on WikiProject Ships' assessment drive! When assigning an importance rating to non-standard articles, you might want to double check the assessment criteria. Specifically I noticed that you have given ([1], [2]) Mid importance ratings to canceled ships, which we generally assess as Low importance. Also, disambiguation pages should be assessed as NA for both class and importance, rather than Low ([3], [4]). Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks, --Kralizec! You are allowed a wide berth with your talk page, but as I remember reading, you are not allowed to remove the warnings from your talk page. I am sorry and it will never happen again. I was just having some fun with articles and Wikipedia doesn't have anything to practice or get good at learning all this stuff. You guys don't even have a type of Sandbox to play around with.

I will not do this to Morgan Webb's page or any other page on Wikipedia. I just have one question though. How would you be able to tell I am banned from Wikipedia if I were to hypothetically create a new account? The system just does not work. I mean absolutely no dissrespect by that. How would my edit be vandalism?

What about the edit makes it vandalism? Look at the paragraph, it supports the headline. The battleship is obsolete, and the evidence is that none are left in service. What is there to debate? 204.52.215.107 05:34, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

The point that they are obsolete would be debated by many because of the awesome capabilities of the Iowa class battleships. Right above the Today section, it says: The U.S. Marine Corps believes that the current naval surface fire support gun and missile programs will not be able to provide adequate fire support for an amphibious assault or onshore operations. This suggests that although they aren't in service, their capabilities are not obsolete and are actually valued to this day, which contradicts obsolescence. Dear MBK004. I am amazed with your attitude. As an apprentice editor I imagine you want to become a full time one. Yet your behavior is severely at odds with this aspiration. You have been extremely unwelcoming to me as a new contributor, you have left unhelpful messages to me, you have failed to check back on the history if edits (if you did you will see that Atari400 was the first to revert my corrections AND then laid unfounded accusations at me claiming I was stalking.) I would have thought those wanting to become editors would be welcoming, polite and constructive. (reset)Well, let me digest that...your behavior was at odds because YOU were removing information that was sourced and was properly referenced. If you thought it was wrong, the correct means to have it removed would have been to suggest it on the talk page associated with the individual article and wait for a consensus to be reached. Although being bold is encouraged, removing information that has been properly ascertained and credited goes against the common good. The messages are not unhelpful and that was already covered above with Atari400's comment and these warnings are approved by the community because they are what is loaded into Twinkle. Terse and unhelpful comments I think not. WP:UAA backlog

The other day, you enabled the backlog notice on WP:UAA as per this edit. Unfortunately, the edit broke the automated bot removal of blocked accounts. It's been fixed now. The bots will also automatically add the backlog notice should there really be a backlog (more than 8 outstanding reports for WP:UAA) so you should not manually add the backlog notice. Re your message: It's no big deal. =) It was easily fixed and brought to light a bug in the bots. As for your question, no, I would not add the backlog notice that situation. With WP:UAA, there being a long list is generally not a big deal unlike WP:AIV. Let the bots handle placing and removing the backlog as necessary. Thank you sir. I just want to put the real fact of Banten. There is no Bantenese ethnic group in Banten. There only 2 major ethnic group there, Sundanese and Javanese. But after Banten was separated from West Java province (culturally mix Sundanese and Javanese), there are few people (as far as I know from wiki, they are of Malay ethnic group like Chaniago and Piliang)declaring that trere is bantenese ethnic. In my opinion, an ethnic group is characterized by distinct language, culture, even genetic. The few people declaring new bantenese ethnic could not show the distinct language, culture, etc, of the new ethnic they declared. Could you please helping me to put the right things on wikipedia?

I was expecting this; some editors here have a hard time accepting short article FACs (and for that matter FACs on fictional subjects). We will just have to ride it out as best as we can. On that note I left messages at MILHIST and SHIPS to see about getting some friendly opinions on the FAC page. Our in house guys are usually a little more understanding on such matters, so we may get a little more support from those base camps. On an unrelated note good luck with your finals. Re:USS Texas (BB-35)

Yep, I am still planning to bring that one up to FA status. Before I do that however I need to bring the class page up to FA status and compile enough material to create a page on the armament of the New York class battleships; in this way, I can help Texas go featured by giving her a strong foundation to launch from. This was a lesson I learned during the updating of Wisconsin and to a lesser extent Missouri; people have an easier time with ship articles if they see that the article is a part of series on the subject. Yeah, if you think it can clear GA-class than go ahead and nominate it; I'll co-nominate since this version is basic the same one I uploaded a few months back (albeit with fewer spelling and grammar errors). Excuse me but what was wrong with my edits. Everything in there was full of information. Just because it was not favorable to Rachal Ray lovers and Al Sharpton lovers does not mean it was not true. You need open your mind more.

The parts of rachel ray not tiping can be seen on anthony bourdain's SC No Reservations. I would not make something up relating to anthony bourdain. Her birth date I did make up though. And to quote Mr. Stephen Colbert I actually do think that Wikipedia is an amazing thing. The article in question is Tony Rey(Musician), however currently this artist is known as Tony Bruno. My RfA

According to your comment on my RfA, you don't think that I will abuse the tools. If that is true, why not support? Adminship is not about giving users a reward, but rather about giving users extra tools when they can be trusted not to abuse them. An administrator is like a janitor (thus sometimes the term "mop" is substituted for the word "tools"), they clean up and maintain. If you were interviewing a potential janitor for a publishing company, would one of the prerequisites be that they be a prolific writer? Re: Removal of CN tags from the US currency pages

The reason I removed the CN tags before is because I don't believe "common sense knowledge" should be tagged with them, as it can make the article look distracting. Also, it takes attention away from CN tags that ARE needed (like if the sentence/paragraph is of a controversial nature or if there's a chance that the sentence/paragraph is just plain wrong). The same goes for all those silly "Trivia sections are discouraged..." labels in articles where a trivia/pop culture section is essential (such as the Simpsons episode articles where pop culture refrences are heavily used in the Simpsons). And since anyone with a black light can see how the stripes in dollar bills glow, I figured that counted as common sense knowledge, not "original research". After all, you don't see the parts about the bills having a matching watermark with the CN label.

Also, if it makes you feel any better, I noticed your own pet peeve and you'll be pleased to know that I have gotten better at using the edit summary more regularly. ;)76.177.160.69 (talk) 03:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't revert it; the MilHist MoS doesn't openly favor pop culture sections, in fact most are pulled from their articles on the spot. Project Shells

I don't want to create extra work for you as I am doing tagging and assessments on multiple projects. I will be glad to slap on a project shell as I wade through these. I am not certain the threshold though, is it 3 or more banners or what? HEBISD Talk page

I saw your changes to Talk:Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District...I hadn't seen a GA on hold listed as a separate milestone before (Talk:Auburn_High_School, etc), and it doesn't seem to be listed in the documentation at Template:ArticleHistory. It seems like being "on hold" is a step in the process that produces a fail or pass milestone, and therefore wouldn't garner its own milestone...so...are you sure?

Also, you added Template:Talkheader, but its documentation states that the template should only be used when needed...so, same question, are you sure?

Both changes seem plausible but are sticking out in my mind, so I just wanted to double-check and see what the thinking was behind them. :) --Hebisddave (talk) 21:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

It was nice of you to inform me of that, but I think that we are in the minority here. It seems unlikely that anything we do will change the opinion of those who wish to have the individual ships merged, and they do have valid point: the ships were never built, so the information on them is not likely to grow. Texas Edits

I haven't had a chance to read over the new edits as much as I would like to, but what I have seen so for looks good, although when editting ship pages stick an all "she/her" format (currently used in the article) or an all "it" format instead of alternating between the two, as it makes the article read ackwardly. Case in point: "When the battleship was presented to the State of Texas, it was commissioned as the flagship of the Texas Navy." TomStar81 (Talk) 10:56, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Dear MBK004, my sincere thanks for your support in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch.
