Poodle image[edit]

Hi. You've got a cute dog but I've removed the photo from the article on Poodles. I don't think the photo added any information to the article that wasn't already included in the other photos. TheAwesomeHwyh 13:54, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TheAwesomeHwyh I thought that it showed the size of a standard poodle puppy. If this is not the case, then that is ok! If it is, I'll re-add the image! Best, MTATransitFanChat! 13:29, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we need an image of a puppy because the text does not discuss puppies. TheAwesomeHwyh 15:03, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TheAwesomeHwyh Oh ok that's fine! Best, MTATransitFanChat! 13:29, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good! Also, please indent your comments. TheAwesomeHwyh 15:16, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sun Aug 16: Great American Wiknic NYC & Beyond[edit]

August 16, 3pm: Great American Wiknic

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our annual summer Great American Wiknic, this year being held virtually.

We look forward to seeing local Wikimedians, but would also like to invite folks from the greater New York metropolitan area (and beyond!) who might not typically be able to join us in person!

Featuring artist-Wikimedian Sara Clugage's "Picnics: An Outside History" for a cultural exploration of picnicking, knowledge and society during the national panel in the first part. We encourage you to call in for the second part from a local park or natural site and share it on the video stream, as well as sharing your favorite picnic grub or other special foods with us.

Is there a project you'd like to share? A question you'd like answered? A Wiki* skill you'd like to learn? Let us know by adding it to the agenda. The Wiknic is taking the place of "WikiWednesday" this month, so we will also include salon and knowledge-sharing workshop aspects.

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm online via YouTube (watch our national panel's livestream, and participate by text chat)
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm online via Zoom (participate by videoconference with NYC community)

We especially encourage folks to share your parks and foods on screen, and add your 3-minute lightning talks to our roster for the Zoom portion, and otherwise join in the "open space" experience! Newcomers are very welcome! Bring your friends and colleagues!

(You can subscribe/unsubscribe from future notifications for NYC-area events by adding or removing your name from this list.)

Conflict of interest editing[edit]

Information icon Hello, MTATransitFan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Jonathan Kramer, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.
Please do not directly edit the article about your family member. Melcous (talk) 12:08, 14 August 2020 (UTC) @Melcous: Hello, I have disclosed my affiliation with Jonathan Kramer in both my talk page and on the page's talk page. If this is not sufficient, I do not see why. In addition, I read over the COI policy before editing, and I do not see what I have done in violation of those policies - It does not ban COI editing, it just bans advertising, publicising, or promoting, which I am not doing. Best, MTATransitFanChat! 12:54, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The request as per the above guidelines is that you do not directly edit the article but use the Template:Request edit on the talk page instead. Melcous (talk) 13:09, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A belated welcome![edit]

The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Disambiguation link notification for September 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Columbia Transportation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page West Harlem. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:43, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! Just wanted to drop you a note that the user box that you've added to the talk page of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is meant for user pages, not the article space. I've removed it from the talk page, but you can always include it on your user page by editing in {{User RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg}}. Apologies[edit]

Hi there,

Sorry, I misread the edit history of the Nova Bus LFS page, and so incorrectly thought you were socking.

I've reinstituted the page move - but as a note for the future, please make sure you move a page, rather than cutting and pasting, as if not caught immediately it needs a history merge which is immensely tedious. Let me know if you have any questions

Once again, apologies Nosebagbear (talk) 11:39, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Nosebagbear: It is ok! I tried to move, but it did not work - so I had to copy and paste! In the future, I'll use the move tool. Best, MTATransitFanChat! 11:53, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may have been trying to move it over a redirect - technical move requests can help in those cases Nosebagbear (talk) 13:07, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Academy Bus Lines fleet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. power~enwiki (π, ν) 16:51, 19 October 2020 (UTC) @Power~enwiki: I recreated that page in an attempt to find the fleet and copy it for my own use! A tag has been placed on Category:Bus routes in The Bronx requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Hi @Liz:. It's ok to merge this with Category:Bus routes in the Bronx. I thought that creating it without anything in it would result in a merge. Was I wrong? Best, MTATransitFanChat! 13:37, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged the category because it is empty. Unless it falls into a narrow range of exceptions (redirect categories, disambiguation categories, categories under discussion at CFD), empty categories are tagged for deletion. They sit for a week and if this one is still empty next Thursday, it will be deleted.
It seems like a duplicate of Category:Bus routes in the Bronx (small "the"). You can check larger categories, like Category:MTA Regional Bus routes, to see what NYC bus categories already exist. Liz Read! Talk! 14:04, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

November 2020[edit]

Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Airbus A350 XWB. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 19:54, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MTA Fleet Page[edit]

Hi, I am writing to you to inform you that I saw your message. I find it quite inaccurate to refer to my edits as vandalism and would like you to explain what you meant by that. I am updating info that was incorrect or replacing images that were of lower quality. It appears as if you are trying to promote your images as you have added a lot of your in, while most of them are fine, some of them are not of the best quality and should be replaced. 24.104.250.197 (talk) 05:39, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@24.104.250.197: Please, stop it. You are going against consensus, and reverting edits by not only me, but also Mtattrain and SportsFan007. I also have reason to believe that you are a sockpuppet of Olsen24, a blocked editor. I will have to report you at Sockpuppet Investigations because of that. In addition, I'm fine with my images there or not, but if it is consensus that an image is ok, then we keep it.
Also, @Mtattrain: can we get protection back on that page? Thanks!
If you were to go into the edit history, you would be aware it was Mtattrain who removed some of your images as well. By your logic, perhaps hes an sockpuppet as well. 24.104.250.197 (talk) 20:43, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Stop it, will you? We all know you are a sockpuppet of Olsen24. Mtattrain is an established editor who has removed images and added others WITH GOOD REASON. You have done this without ANY good reason. If you really want to fight this, do it at the sockpuppet investigation, where it won't only be me or Mtattrain, but also CUs, clerks, and admins.

A clear vendetta[edit]

Hi, I am not sure what your issue is with me but I hope we can resolve it promptly. Edit warring is not the answer, and I would to resolve our dispute in a different way. I know you think i’m a sockpuppet, which isn’t true, otherwise I would have been blocked. I hope we can set aside our differences. 24.104.250.197 (talk) 02:51, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh please, cut it out. I'm not stupid. I know that you are a sockpuppet. Even if you weren't, this is the second or third time you have violated WP:3RR in the last two days. If you REALLY want to start over on a clean slate, then don't edit war anymore, and come clean that you are a sock. Then I'll consider going a bit lighter on you. For now, however, I posted at ANI, so I would suggest defending yourself (or coming clean?) there. I honestly hope you stop with this lie, because the deeper you get in, the harder it is to get out. Best, MTATransitFanChat! 02:56, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed?[edit]

Regarding this edit. Can you please link to where the sockpuppetry was confirmed by an administrator? Please see the exact wording used at the bottom of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Olsen24/Archive. As it happens, the IP is blocked for a year for evasion but without any reference to the SPI. Checkusers normally won't confirm IPs and you are trying to undo the carefully worded conclusions. EdJohnston (talk) 18:45, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh ok. Understood. This is my first SPI, so I thought that it was confirmed. Sorry! Best, MTATransitFanChat! 21:12, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MTATransitFan. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of New Flyer Xcelsior production model codes".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 13:38, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
