Per County Donegal.

I was afraid that "Per user Mabuska" would give you a swelled head :-) Laurel Lodged (talk) 23:19, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Don't worry i can still fit my head through a door lol :-P Mabuska (talk) 12:18, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

While it's all academic now, it would be instructive for you to read the goings on, the sturm und drang that happened at here at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2011 March 11#1.3 Category:Executive branch of the Government of Ireland. How the decision went the way it did is beyond me. Ego seems to have precedence instead of knowledge. Ah well. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:50, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Never knew it was going on. Mabuska (talk) 14:55, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Back on topic. It seems that user Hohenloh is defying the consensus on "traditional counties". He has just reverted my County Louth amendment. As I'm persona non gratia in the WikiIreland Project at the moment, it's probably best that I not make an issue of it. Laurel Lodged (talk) 22:25, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Wrong link was being used. It linked to the administrative counties article which deals with the old administrative counties of the Republic prior to 2002. The link should of been Local government in the Republic of Ireland. Mabuska (talk)

GOCE drive newsletter

Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 backlog elimination drive report

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating in the March 2011 drive! This newsletter summarizes the March drive and other recent events.

Participation
GOCE March 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

There were 99 signups for the drive; of these, 70 participated. Interest was high mainly due to a link to our event from the Watchlist page. We had a record-breaking 84 articles listed on the Requests page in March; 11 of these have been promoted to Good article status so far. Several of our recent efforts have received Featured Article status as well, and the GOCE is becoming a solid resource for the Wikipedia community. Many thanks to editors who have been helping out at the Requests page and by copy editing articles from the backlog.

Progress report

Remarkable progress was made in reducing the backlog this month, as we now have fewer than 500 articles remaining from 2009. We are well under the 4,000-article mark for the total number remaining in the queue. Since our backlog drives began in May 2010 with 8,323 articles, we have cleared more than 53% of the backlog. A complete list of results and barnstars awarded can be found here. Barnstars will be distributed over the next week. If you enjoyed participating in our event, you may also like to join the Wikification drives, which are held on alternate months to our drives. Their April drive has started.

New coodinators

On March 21, SMasters appointed Chaosdruid (talk) and Torchiest (talk) as Guild coordinators to serve in place of The Utahraptor, who recently stepped down. Please feel free to contact any coordinator if you have any questions or need assistance.

Barnstar

The Cleanup Barnstar
Having copy edited 8 articles and totaling over 15,000 words, the Cleanup Barnstar is awarded to Mabuska for great effort in the Guild of Copy Editors' March 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for your participation! Tea with toast (talk) 15:08, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Ireland placebox

Mabuska,
Plastikspork has agreed to implement the changes to the Ireland placebox (see here). I've told Plastikspork what changes we agreed on, but if I've forgotten something or you have other proposals you should add them to the discussion a.s.a.p.
Thanks. ~Asarlaí 19:44, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Andy Mabbet has replied to your comment here. There's only four days left to vote on the deletion proposal and hardly anyone from Wikiproject Ireland has pitched-in. However, if the Ireland placebox is deleted I think we should then push for changes to the generic placebox (like he suggested). ~Asarlaí 19:42, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

"Republic of Ireland" on county leads

I note you have reverted changes I made to "Counties of Ireland" articles which I made both to improve the flow and comply with IMOS. You cited non-existing "consensus" and IMOS in support of your reverts. Please be aware that such beheaviour is edit warring. Regards Sarah777 (talk) 11:52, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

The following message was posted by myself at Sarah's talkpage but she removed with the excuse that it was "trolling":
Sarah, your edits are going against IMOS. The IMOS says:

"use [[Republic of Ireland|Ireland]], except where the island of Ireland or Northern Ireland is being discussed in the same context or where confusion may arise. In such circumstances use [[Republic of Ireland]]".

You're using "island of Ireland" as the disambiguation, rather than "Republic of Ireland". For example, after your edit, County Cavan now reads:

County Cavan (Irish: Contae an Chabháin) is an administrative county in Ireland and one of the thirty-two traditional counties of the island of Ireland...

Follow the IMOS and leave your own POV out of it. ~Asarlaí 12:07, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Also Sarah keep an eye on the Ireland WikiProjects. Though i think you may have raised something that could be an actual issue and i'll raise it at the WikiProject. Mabuska (talk) 12:33, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Mid-West Region, Ireland map

Hi Mabuska, you created the maps for the NUTS Level III regions of the Republic of Ireland, but there is no map for the Mid-West Region, or if there is I couldn't find it on commons. Could you please create one? Tx, Snappy (talk) 21:19, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Must of forgot about it, thanks for pointing it out. Wierd, thought that i got all of them. Will try to get it down later on today. Mabuska (talk) 23:35, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
