Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the webpage was just a template and i used generic text from the source to fill it in. I have since deleted the text in question. I terms of the tamswiki page, this is for that wiki, it just doesnt have a sandbox yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mackey1912 (talkcontribs)

@Mackey1912: You cannot copy and paste text from other websites onto Wikipedia. Lack of a copyright notice on the originating site does not confer permission for that text to be copied here. This applies even if you are the copyright holder and/or owner of the originating site.
The only way this is allowable is if the copied material is properly released for use by the verified copyright owner into the public domain or under a license compatible with Wikipedia. These licenses allow anyone — not just Wikipedia — to share, distribute, transmit, and adapt your work, free of charge and in perpetuity, provided that you are attributed as the author. Also, because some derivative works may be commercial, we cannot accept materials that are licensed only for educational use or even for general non-commercial use. Releasing the material is both permanent and irrevocable.
Finally, Wikipedia is not a free web host for you to use as temporary storage for material ultimately intended for your own wiki site. You should only post content on Wikipedia if the intention is to use it on Wikipedia itself. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:42, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
