potential to promote Well's Gray cave on home page

[edit]

Hi Magmawoman. I'm writing because a few days before you wrote an article about the cave discovery in Well's Gray park, I wrote one that was published under the title Sarlacc's Pit cave. It looked like this. When I finished and it was published, I nominated it to appear on the Wikipedia home page.

The nomination is here. When people make suggestions for the home page, they sit there for a while until a reviewer checks that the article meets Wikipedia policies. In this case, no reviewer did the check for some time. By then, you had written a different article, which was merged with mine. The merged article is now here.

I think it is awesome that you added so much material, but as you'll have seen from all the tags slapped on the page, the material doesn't meet Wikipedia policies because it isn't cited to public sources. Therefore, the nomination has failed until the article is brought up to wiki standards.

As you'll see from reading the nomination page, I have been advised to delete everything that is unsourced. But I thought perhaps we could collaborate instead. If you can tell me where you got all your information from, I can show you how to add the citations. If we can get everything cited to a publically-available source, the page can pass the nomination review and be promoted on the Wikipedia home page. This would mean thousands more eyeballs on the page.

Anyway, please let me know by replying here if you are interested. Thanks, 70.67.193.176 (talk) 20:42, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination for Sarlacc's Pit cave

[edit]

Hello, I have completed a DYK review for an article which you made substantial contributions to. I noted some questions at Template:Did you know nominations/Sarlacc's Pit cave. If you are interested, please respond there. Thanks. Flibirigit (talk) 15:33, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Wells Gray Park Cave discovery

[edit]

On 2 May 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Wells Gray Park Cave discovery, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a newly discovered cave has been temporarily named after a Star Wars character? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Wells Gray Park Cave discovery), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
