Please do not add nonsense to wikipedia![edit]

As they say in the movies, "oh be-have". Seriously, though, we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so don't make joke edits. Some readers looking for a serious article might not find them amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do a bit seriously here. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write whatever you want (as long as it's not offensive).

3 Revert Rule[edit]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Kukini 06:08, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WV template[edit]

The population guidelines were refering to the city itself. I am not sure why the article says that there are more than 40,000 people in Martinsburg (I think User:Caponer might have been refering to the zip code area. If you feel that Martinsburg should be listed in the major cities, feel free to start a discussion on the template's talk page so we can figure the situation out. Cheers. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 18:48, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source that says that 25,000 people live in the city limits? youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 19:03, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
the best I could find was this link[1] that gives Martinsburg's population as 15,000. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 19:08, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Youngamerican, thanks for the advice. I'm new to editing wikipedia pages, but have used them for a long while. I'm glad there's a place to discuss things other than editing back and forth and leaving messages. :p MattDell 19:11, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a discussion on the template's talk page that you might want to check out. On a side note. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 19:13, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Think maybe you should move it from template talk to the WV State Discussion? I don't think anyone is going to read it where it is.MattDell 20:15, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You'd be surprised. Quite a few people wathc the template. If no one comments in a couple of days, however, we can bring it up over there. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 20:26, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
