Cobalt Park page?

[edit]

Hi Matticus, I can't figure out what is going on, but can you have a look at this page User:Matticusmadness/Cobalt Business Park which seems to be linked to you but as far as I can see you have not edited? I originally marked it as a spamuser page, but have reverted back a few edits but still can't quite my head around what has gone on. Thanks, and apologies if I have made a mistake on this one. Melcous (talk) 09:56, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ehhhh, safe to say I don't have a clue either. I took a look at the IP ( whatismyipaddress.com ) and it points to London. No clue why it's being focused on by somebody there. However I looked at the batch of 17 or so edits and, while I'm a bit rusty on Wikipedia and its policies right now, it looked like they were improving the article. Constructive looking Vandalism perhaps? Fill me in, what made you revert the edits? (*points to 'rusty'*) MM (WhatIDo WHATIDO?) (Now THIS... I did.) 10:28, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's in your userspace because you asked to have it restored there about two years ago. Also, hey, how's it going? Yunshui  10:41, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yun! I was just looking at your Archive 48! XD I see you've got CU tools now, that right? Well done! Yeah that I did. I was quite ambitious with Wikipedia back in 2013 huh? Heh. What strikes me the most here, is that the IP looked like it knew what it was doing by the 17 edits before it got a revert. Did it break any policies, procedures or the like? Or does it seem to be a revert purely on the basis of it being IP edits in a user space? I know you couldn't properly answer that one without Melcous chipping in, but I know you, you could take a pretty good guess. Either way it's great to hear you're doing okay Yun. CU perks come with the arbitrator hat that I got for Christmas. With regards to your IP guy, I'm seeing a lot of inappropriate inline external links and some promotional fluff that may well have been lifted verbatim from cobaltpark.co.uk - so I reckon Melcous was on the money with that revert. Hmmmm. So someone from Cobalt's PR/HR may have decided to take an interest? The userpage is the first hit if you google 'cobalt business park wikipedia' so this kinda makes sense. I'll watchpage that and watch for new edits. It seems odd that it gets hit after this long (maybe it's due for deletion?) but I can tell we're far from past a cooldown period on this one if it's someone officially affiliated with Cobalt.
Besides, every E-Mail from Wikipedia I get on one of my watched pages drags me back here. MM (WhatIDo WHATIDO?) (Now THIS... I did.) 11:16, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
