Copyright problem on Chatelaine (magazine)

While flattered, I am a constant student of media, always searching to expand my knowledge base to better my skills as a business professional, creative, and mentor. I have no association with Chatelaine personally, nor do family, friends and my employment organization. I don't work for or with magazines. I do have a love of media and a passion for history and iconic brands. Please amend. --Mediazeitgeist

Please help me with... I have reached out to CanadianMags Blogspot and MiddleBrowCanada as I do not believe their content is copyrighted. In the meantime, please confirm if you know otherwise. Mediazeitgeist (talk) 15:32, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

@Mediazeitgeist:, you appear to misunderstand how copyright works. Under the Berne Convention and succeeding international agreements, all published works are copyright the moment they are published and there is no requirement to register a copyright (as many Internet users mistakenly think). Canada has been a state party these agreements since 1924 so any work published there is covered and any of "their" content is copyrighted. More to the point, Wikipedia policy requires us to treat their content as copyrighted unless you can explicitly show that it is actually public domain prior to the blogs publishing it or their content is accompanied by explicit release permission granted by the copyright holder.
