March 2010[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, LizandMeghan, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because shared user names are not permitted. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 16:59, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. Note that it is not just an issue of changing your user name. Each of you must have your own name and password, and each of you must only edit under your own user name. – ukexpat (talk) 18:06, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You will see that the user name has now been changed. Remember please that only one of you can use this name, the other will have to create a new user name and edit only with that name. This sounds like beaurocracy, but it is all to do with complying with the provisions of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License which govern contributions to Wikipedia. – ukexpat (talk) 14:39, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

re your 2nd request to change your user name[edit]

You have logged into Wikipedia using your original name after being renamed yesterday and have now split your edits between User:LizandMeghan (25 edits) and User:Jamie Moffett (63 edits). A bureaucrat has requested clarification as to which account you wish to have renamed, with an offer to block the other so that this does not happen again. (Link to the current request) This notice on the talk page of both accounts so that you might receive it ASAP. delirious & lost~hugs~ 21:47, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first account is now known as Meghan T (LizandMeghan → Jamie Moffett → Meghan T). This is the one to use.
The second account is now known as LizandMeghan and it has been blocked so you can't accidentally use it.
The third account is now known as Meghan T (usurped) as it appears you created it a few minutes before the renaming was processed and it had to be renamed to make room for the account with the majority of your edits to be known as Meghan T.
If this seems confusing don't worry too much. So long as you log in with the Meghan T account you should be ok now. To get to my talk page, should you have any questions, click the "~hugs~". Renaming your account can be a confusing experience, even if you are not new to Wikipedia. I don't do the actual renaming but i try to keep it running smoothly by reviewing requests and following up with people as needed. There are a few of us who do this; we leave the "Clerk note" on requests.
I also moved the alternate draft of the article from a subpage of LizandMeghan to User:Meghan T/Jamie Moffett so that you can work on it here. If you want some help i might be able to do a thing or two. I will also be removing the categories from the version of the article on User:Meghan T as user pages are not supposed to have "Article" categories. Click "delirious" in my signature for an example of a user page (you can style your user page pretty much however you want). delirious & lost~hugs~ 00:10, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the message - looks like it's all sorted out now. – ukexpat (talk) 00:51, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:TORLogo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TORLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 04:49, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:TheOrdinaryRadicals-Black.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TheOrdinaryRadicals-Black.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 04:55, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:TheOrdinaryRadicals-Black.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TheOrdinaryRadicals-Black.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:55, 10 April 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 13:55, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A note about uploading images[edit]

Hi Meghan T,

I thought i should let you know that non-free (aka fair use) images are not to go in user space. I realise that you are working on User:Meghan T/The Ordinary Radicals with the idea to move it to article space but uploading an image should be the last step you do, just before you move it from user space to article space. Also, the {{Non-free use rationale}} template was not completely filled out. You need to fill in all of the information. You did include the source so i will see if i can fill in the rest of it. delirious & lost~hugs~ 05:55, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also think i should mention that if you want to you can MOVE a page rather than copying the source text/code and pasting it into an article-space new page. If you ever wanted to become an admin then people look at things like your edit history and you have a lot of edits in user space. When you move a page all of those user space edits become article space edits :D If you look through my log entries you will see my moving Jamie's article and a bit further down you find me moving List of Alias episodes from my user space into article space. You should see an option to "move page" somewhere, depending on what add-on gadgets you have enabled, when you are editing a page. delirious & lost~hugs~ 04:52, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that The Ordinary Radicals meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Ordinary Radicals. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Novaseminary (talk) 02:53, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
