[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to Yacolt, Washington appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. [edit]Hello Mekalos. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mekalos. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mekalos|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 13:23, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
No I’m just trying to make a page
[edit]I’m just making articles for free on my own time and I decided to make one about The Ginger People. I just thought they needed one and I tried to use as many sources I could find.
By the way I only put the Mr Knobs part because it made sense to talk about it. Yes I used the website as the reference for that one, but I gave the rest of the parts of my article independent sources, and I used as much as I could.
- I posted a source evaluation of all the sources in the article when I moved it to draftspace – please read the notability criteria for companies, and look at the sources again. None of the sources (possibly with the exception of the montereycountyweekly.com one) is independent. --bonadea contributions talk 21:42, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]The article Blackmill (musician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Lack of notability, due to lack of sources, as WP:BEFORE does not reveal that the subject meets WP:GNG, WP:MUSICBIO, WP:ANYBIO, or WP:BASIC.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Alalch E. 19:09, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
Nomination of Blackmill (musician) for deletion
[edit]The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blackmill (musician) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited ReRave, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Arcade and Android. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Self-published sources, user-generated content, and other questionable sources
[edit]I have noticed your contributions. You are trying to create articles. But the articles you create are moved to draft, and drafts you submit don't get accepted. You're missing an important piece of the puzzle: We have three core content policies, and to those policies is attached a guideline about which sources are appropriate and which aren't. It's contained here: Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Based on what you are adding to the article Blackmill (musician), you don't seem to be aware of it. When editors notice that your creations are based on self-published sources, user-generated content, and other questionable sources they will do various things to ensure that this content does not remain included, ranging from moving the article to draft, removing certain content from the article, to requesting deletion. Sincerely—Alalch E. 09:34, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
I’m trying to be close to magazines and news sites for the sources. I know it can’t be anything self-published. I’ll try to pay better attention to the sites just to be sure. Mekalos (talk) 17:25, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in ReRave, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 15:26, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
I was trying to add the company page but I had to go into desktop mode to add the section then I was going to add the website until I saw a “conflict” thing. Mekalos (talk) 15:28, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
I always have to go to desktop mode to make the external links section first and then add the website as a second edit. Mekalos (talk) 15:40, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. See the diff: do note we do not use Unnecessary Capital Letters: it's external links and developer website, and use an asterisk (one of these: *) for a neat bullet point. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. You can also notify me (or others) by using this template: {{u|"username here"}} and replace "username here". Thanks, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 15:57, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me know for the future. I’ll use those terms. Mekalos (talk) 16:20, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello, Mekalos. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:17, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Compensation? As I told you I’m writing articles to expand this site. I don’t know the people I’m writing about or anyone associated with them, and I’m just doing this as something to do between my engineering studies. Mekalos (talk) 17:39, 29 January 2023 (UTC)

I just wanted to write on this site. That was all. You know to be honest here, I see people that are very erratic and have very confusing behavior themselves when editing, and I see pages being made that have no place on this site and shouldn’t really be on here. So I’m only just emulating how people use this site and nothing else. Mekalos (talk) 00:00, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- That doesn't make any sense. —Alalch E. 00:04, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
I wasn’t trying to annoy anyone like how some other users can be, I’m just doing this as a hobby and writing pages to help expand the site like everyone else. I have learned from mistakes I’ve made in the past and look forward to improving my skills. Mekalos (talk) 00:05, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
As a continuation of my comment. Mekalos (talk) 00:06, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Look at pages like Egma or Starstylers. Those pages never cited anything, were very vague, and really should have been deleted when they were created, but yet they’re perfectly okay to stay and when I try to do the same thing it gets immediately rejected even though I try the best I can to use as many sources as possible to back everything I write. Also, it’s actually hard to tell or they’re blogs or actual magazines/news sites, because blogs and news sites are almost entirely identical. If there’s any way to know for sure, let me know and I’ll use it from now on. Mekalos (talk) 00:11, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- Given that you haven't been honest about your other accounts, I think it's quite likely you've also been dishonest about being a paid editor. No thanks. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:18, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
I’m sorry if I sounded rude and confrontational, I just was a little frustrated back there. I just wanted to make that point that I want to learn from this and move on. So what do you guys say? Mekalos (talk) 00:20, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
I’m not paid to do anything. I don’t even have much money or know anyone here. Honest, I really don’t. I don’t know how you even would. If I did I would tell you as I know that wouldn’t be a bad thing from what I’ve read about that. I’m not a paid editor. Mekalos (talk) 00:22, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Can you please treat me with respect Jamie. I just got a little scared back there when you asked me about that. It’s normal we all get that way when being confronted and I chickened out. Mekalos (talk) 00:24, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
To conclude, I don’t know anyone who knows these people and I’m not getting paid whatsoever, and I don’t know how you even would. Mekalos (talk) 00:25, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Is there anything I can do at this point? Mekalos (talk) 00:39, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, Mekalos,
- You can try to take advantage of Wikipedia:Standard offer in six months if you are still interested in editing and promise to not make any more multiple accounts. Of course, if you are found to create sockpuppets, the Standard offer will not be available to you. I would advise you to be patient and be honest in your future unblock requests. You may not know this but it isn't against the rules to be a paid editor although there are some editing restrictions you must abide by. But you can be blocked for being an undeclared paid editor which is what I think is what happened here, along with the sockpuppetry. Liz Read! Talk! 00:35, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
