Speedy deletion nomination of Matthew L. Adler
[edit]A tag has been placed on Matthew L. Adler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 22:47, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Adler Group, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://airsidebizpark.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:58, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Adler Group
[edit]A tag has been placed on Adler Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please stop. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, such as Adler Group, you will be blocked from editing. Intelligentsium 23:13, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- First, it still looks like you are cutting and pasting from the company website, which violates WP:COPYRIGHT. Second, you need to cite reliable and verifiable independent sources {see WP:V) to show that this company meets the notability standards of WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:10, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Michelle. I've read the draft in your sandbox -- thank you for noting the above guidelines and citing independent sources. That said, I still don't know that this company is any more notable than dozens of property-owning companies throughout the United States, such that it should have an article in a general reference encyclopedia. The sources you cited are all trade publications and not general news sources. While the article would not be subject to *speedy* deletion (WP:CSD) if you were to repost it, I think there is a good chance that it would get tagged for a deletion discussion at WP:AFD. - I did respond -- see my comment, immediately above. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:24, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Zumba
[edit]It still seems like advertising/PR, particularly "Zumba workout provides long-term fitness benefits" and the section on all the Zumba subtypes, complete with trademark notices. See WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:30, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
I agree somewhat with NawlinWiki... but I do think it's pretty good for a first article and I'm glad to see you're working on it in userspace and getting feedback before making it live. I get the impression you're used to writing PR or marketing copy. Encyclopedic writing has a totally different tone that can sometimes be a hard transition for folks used to writing ad copy. You do have excellent referencing though and the subject appears notable. Some things to consider in addition to the links provided by NawlinWiki:
- The sentence about working with Shakira should be referenced.
- All trademark and registermark symbols should be removed (they're not in accordance with our manual of style).
It seems like we already have a short article about Zumba [1]. Are you planning on expanding it with your new text? <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 06:41, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. I made additional edits, hopefully, I was able to tone down some of the language. Can you please take a look and let me know if this now works? SandboxMichellecatin (talk) 22:15, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Michelle, I had a look and you seem to be getting the hang of it. I saw plenty of ways to improve it, so I went ahead and made some changes. The section about the DVDs seemed kind of spammy still, so I deleted it (the article already mentions the DVDs before that anyway). Otherwise, I mostly just moved stuff around, increased the size of sections versus having many small sections, and did some copyediting. It looks pretty good to me right now, NW may have other opinions though. <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 08:06, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Beto is fine. Just remember that here is an existing article (although it is short) so you'll have to incorporate this into the existing text rather than creating a separate article. The existing article may have some useful references as well. If you take care of the incorporation in your sandbox you could probably just replace the existing text with what you have. <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 18:23, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Please note that just changing a few words from text you find on a website is still a copyright violation. And some of the copyvio I found was cited to Readers Digest, which didn't even mention some of the material it was supposedly the source for. I agree with NW, it still looks like advertising with all the Zuma subtypes. Dougweller (talk) 21:05, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Lewis the Duck
[edit]Hi Michelle,
I think that the first and last paragraphs are OK, especially given the citation to USA Today. The two middle paragraphs, about the children's books, don't appear to be especially notable, and seem like they are promotional. I would leave those out, and change "Lewis, Lois..." to "Lewis and his family" in the last paragraph. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:15, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
License tagging for File:LewistheDuck.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:LewistheDuck.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
