Dear Ms. LeCompte,

I was asked by a fellow editor to take a look at rodeo and edit it a bit, so that it looks and reads a bit like our other Wikipedia articles. I was impressed by your writing, it's quite obvious that a lot of work has gone into it! I just did some work on the article. One of the things that I did was work on the footnotes, so that when in the future someone adds a footnote, they won't have to redo all the numbering. Another thing was the headings, and that's what I want to ask you about: do you think these headings make sense? And, to your opinion, have the paragraphs been split up right? If there are any changes you would like to see, you can either make those changes directly or ask me about it here or on my talk page. Kind regards, --JoanneB 20:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Rodeo article[edit]

Hi, I've realised today that I had not put the rodeo article on my watchlist so I had not seen what had happened to it in the meantime. From the content of the talk page, it seems like there has been some criticism, and some problems with the style and content have been solved since. I'm writing you because from your comments on the talk page, I got the impression that you view it as 'your' article. However, Wikipedia is different than other publications that you've written articles for in the past. While you've contributed a large part of the information to the article, you're not the single "owner". I thought it would be good to stress this, just in case, as someone has asked other editors for some assistance with this article, and it is very likely that in the next couple of days or weeks, large changes will be made to the content and the style. This is part of what Wikipedia is about: all kinds of editors from with all kinds of expertises (content, style, formatting) contribute. If you happen to see people introduce mistakes, please feel free to make a note on the talk page, so it can be fixed. Kind regards, --JoanneB 20:49, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

Just to say hi, I'm the person who fielded your original email. You are in good hands with JoanneB and Tony, theya re good people and will help get the article into the format and tone mandated by our manual of style. You can get me on my talk page if there's a problem, but I asked them to help because we don't want to lose your contributions, we want to combine our experience of Wikipedia with your expertise and knowledge base and maybe even raise the article to featured status. I really hope I did the right thing here. Guy (Help!) 22:19, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rodeo and PETA crowd[edit]

Hi, Hope you can lend a hand in toning down the PETA people who are hitting all the rodeo articles. I am trying desperately to find a middle ground and not have these people blocked, but I need help. See not only rodeo but also calf roping, steer wrestling, Saddle bronc and bareback riding and, well, check the contribs list for HatAct, definitely need some backup here. Thanks.
