Greetings, good friend. Please review my last post on User:Emir_Arven - and tell me (sincerely), am I being highly irridentist and/or unreasonable - or just banging my head on a wall from which it wil bounce no matter what I say. --HolyRomanEmperor 12:04, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Rumble[edit]

Hi again. I'm almost ready to get started on working on the Royal Rumble articles. I've got a couple of drafts ready and I was wondering if there's any corrections that's needed on the articles. I've done ones for 1988 and 2005. As there's a few individual articles for the Rumble (though are currently redirects) during the last four years, I'm going to go backwards and start with them first. Since you're not up to the brand extension era yet, I was wondering how you would have approached some parts of the 2005 article. --Oakster (Talk) 18:01, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I've done the corrections. Would this draft do? --Oakster (Talk) 22:26, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well it's off to work then. Thanks very much for your help, I'll hopefully get this project finished. --Oakster (Talk) 22:42, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Supporting my RfA![edit]

Hey, go ahead and auto-archive this message, as it's here to report my RfA, which passed by a margin of 54/6/1. Sorry for the tardy "thank you," but I have been busy watching the World Cup, as well as hand-typing each of these "thank yous", and needless to say, I haven't had much time. If you ever see me doing something wrong as an admin, don't hesitate to leave a note at my talk page. Issue with a wrestling promotion[edit]

Hey Moe. Haven't spoke in a while so I thought I'd bring this up with you. Total Wrestling Entertainment is the newest promotion to open in Australia. However, recently they have run into a bit of trouble with sponsors, events etc. (you know, the usual failing indy promotion story!). I have just noticed a lot of negative yet true information has been deleted from the article by User:Stevenpullen3156, who just happens to be one of the owners of the promotion (as it states in his user name). How should I handle this issue? I'm a little bit intimidated to leave a message on his talk page as he may let loose on Wikipedia for making the promotion look bad. Removal of the vote[edit]

I won't make any edit wars, but you, Moe, were the supporter of adminship of HRE. And you have removed my vote on the talkpage, which was against HRE's adminship.
You have removed the vote of someone who had opposite point of view. That's not fair.
"At this moment"? I don't think HRE is dead. Violation (hacking) of user accounts are things that happen. Some freak that hacked his account is laughing loudly now. The wiki-fishies have bitten the bait. Kubura 09:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of Number of World Heavyweight Title Reigns page is a mess[edit]

well theres a big disscussion about who to call a World Champion, One User keeps on removing WWF (1970-Hogan), ECW (1993-1999) championship reigns from list citing they aren't recongnized world champs since WWF was in the NWA, and PWI doesn't recongnized ECW champs before 1999, I just want to get a consences on this before it turns to a revert war BionicWilliam 01:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Response to editing[edit]

Hello,

You certainly should not find the editing of TWE’s wikipedia page intimidating. I certainly welcome your edits and thank you for taking the time to constantly update our page.

However, I am not comfortable with the posting of information, be true or not, which is not intended for the public.

I certainly hope you can understand my comments from my perspective.

Kind Regards, Steven Pullen

NPA and NPOV[edit]

I appreciate your concern with NPA and NPOV you expressed with regards to my RFA. I can assure you that I take these matters very seriously. The evidence is in my contributions. It took me quite a while to truly understand the intricasies of these ideas (maybe more than a year) but I think I've really developed a good appreciation for them. --ScienceApologist 16:50, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I don't anticipate my feelings will be hurt if I don't get administrator tools. I understand that a lot of people view this process as a "status" thing, but I can't help but feel that this is entirely too silly. I really just want to be able to fight vandalism more easily, speedy delete nonsense that I come across, and help out in some of the tasks that are difficult to do as a user but a breeze to do as an admin. So if people decide that I'm a "risk" when I want to help them out, it's the community's loss, no? Besides, we're totally transparent here. Every one of my contributions is visible for someone to sort through and see what I'm like. --ScienceApologist 17:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HIM[edit]

I must point out two things. First, it's really inaccurate to say the band is unclassifiable; there are conflicting accounts as to how they're classified, but they're not unclassifiable. There's a difference in the semantics. Second, all the genres listed are rock genres. WesleyDodds 21:39, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Metal is a form of rock music, as Allmusic.com and various encyclopedias on the subject of rock music maintain. But the more important point is that the phrase "unclassifiable" is subjective in this context. Why is HIM unclassifiable? Because the editors of Wikipedia have not come to a consensus on the band's classification. If a source or three says they are unclassifiable, then that's certainly something to work with. WesleyDodds 02:36, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Does it have to say "unclassifiable" in the intro? The article could always take the route of Green Day (also subject to genre debates) and just say musical band. The word "unclassifiable" just raises an issue which probably isn't that important in the greater scheme of the band's importance and notability. Mind you I don't actually listen to HIM, and as such the word "unclassifiable" doesn't actually help anyone without a frame of reference with the band. This seems more an issue which vexes fans of HIM itself. WesleyDodds 02:52, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In my view it doesn't matter in this case what genre is listed first. People would be prone to shuffle them around anyways. Probably just go alphabetically. WesleyDodds 02:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA thanks[edit]

Hello Moe Epsilon/Archive 19, and thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with an overwhelming final count of (105/2/0). I was very pleased with the outpouring of kind words from the community that has now entrusted me with these tools, from the classroom, the lesson in human psychology and the international resource known as Wikipedia. The Free Encyclopedia. Please feel free to leave me plenty of requests, monitor my actions (through the admin desk on my userpage) and, if you find yourself in the mood, listen to some of what I do in real life. Slightly dissappointed with myself...[edit]

I'm feeling extremely dissappointed with myself on Wikipedia. As you may know, there is a pretty large gap of about 80 edits seperating the number of main namespace edits (266 edits) and user talk namespace edits (348 edits.) Also, I have a very low amount of edits per day (about 5.) I don't have any idea how I can fix these two problems. As far as I know, you make at least 50 edits a day, so I thought I would ask you for a little advice on how to bump up my activity on Wikipedia to at least 20 edits a day. I have a few questions for you:

  1. How do you choose which articles you want to edit?
  2. Where can I find good references to use to expand articles?
  3. Do you have a particular "editing style?"
  4. And lastly, a totally unrelated question: Are you a member of Esperanza? I have been considering joining for a while and I would like to know what Esperanza does.

Thanks! --Evan Robidoux 04:32, 18 July 2006 (UTC)][reply]

Thanks. Your advice was exactly what I was looking for. I think I can get a better grip on editing articles. To be honest, I didn't follow my interests when I edited Wikipedia and ended up here. Here, you deserve this:

Your comments on WP:AN[edit]

I'm not sure what you were intending to accomplish with this comment, but I don't think you were very civil, nor do I think such comments will convince others that you are correct. Perhaps this is not important for you. For the record, while I understand that the phrase has a different meaning for you, I, too, feel that your signature is in poor taste, to say the least. Alteripse is correct that the policy cares about the name itself, not the intent behind the name. There are times when a user apparently has a valid reason for selecting an otherwise inappropriate name, and the user is asked to select a username. — Knowledge Seeker 04:47, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the polite response. I have not asked you to change your signature—for several reasons, the most significant being that this phrase does not carry any significant meaning in my religion or culture. I do try to look at matters from multiple points of view, however, and can quite understand why others take offense. Another reason is you tend to make the right decision, and I am sure you will in this case (whatever that decision may be). I would like to suggest, however, that if you are going to keep as your signature a phrase that refers to the central religious figure of a major religion (among multiple meanings), you are going to have to learn to deal better with the complaints you may receive; you'll have to learn to remain polite and not lose your happy mode. I am not unsympathetic; I would be quite irritated if "Knowledge Seeker" turned out to be a reference to a prominent religious figure. Finally, I appreciate you indulging my vanity. — Knowledge Seeker 06:16, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's so that spam bots don't pick it up when searching. Someone did it to an address on my page. Anyway, I can relate to your problems, admins can go mad, posting pictures of dicks on people's user pages (I really don't get it) and other stuff, and normal users get screamed at for trying to use correct grammar. And I have a stalker, if Minun appears here, I rest my case ;), which doesn't help. Generally, the whole place isn't a backstabbing hypocritical shitfest, and good users are in the firing line. I have a fan club! And mine is eerie, one day I had "Batman" to my sig, then suddenly "Spiderman" appears in his. He's pretended to be his dad, accusing of making death threats against his family. He's badmouthed across dozens of pages, and asked me to expand an article, did extremely dodgy work, causing me to rewrite the whole thing, and then take all the credit! Signature[edit]

I just wanted to say that I don't think your signature is good at all. It is offensive to Christians and makes you look pompous and arrogant. It violates various policies of wikipedia and your attitude towards it is shameful. To tell people a vulgar catchphrase is just horrible. You should just change a signature back to your user name, it would cause less trauma and make it easier for others to communicate. --Burgwerworldz 03:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the word your looking for is "drama", not trauma. I don't think having the name reference to a song is causing trauma, an injury, to anyone. And how does changing a signature make it easier to communicate? I'm already leaving Wikipedia, mind WP:DICK. And FYI, I am a Christian, and I don't think a Motorhead reference is wrong. — The King of Kings 03:31 July 20 '06

Your comments on WP:AN[edit]

I see you're leaving Wikipedia again. You already know I disapprove of this style of participation where you repeatedly get involved in conflicts, get angry at other users, make angry statements, leave, cool off, and return. Don't get me wrong—I'm glad you come back, and when things bother me I take Wikibreaks too. But perhaps you could take your breaks without burning all your bridges. And why do you pick fights over such minor matters? If your signature is causing you so much stress, why not change it—especially when it's not even your username? And what do you mean by people not getting it through their head? I think everyone understands that you do not intend the religious reference once you explain it to them, but that doesn't stop the phrase from being a religious reference, among other meanings. I also find it bizzarre that you accuse others of being selfish while inexplicably insisting on using a non-standard signature that causes widespread offense.

Look, I get angry, too. But I try to avoid situations that cause me stress, or I try taking steps to defuse the stress. And if I'm really bothered, I just stop editing for a few days, and if I must use Wikipedia for something, I avoid visiting the policy pages and discussion pages and such. You seem to say things to increase the stress. If you've gotten yourself especially worked up, just step away for a bit. No need to post angry rants, no need to go out in a blaze, just step back, and when you've calmed down, resume editing. And consider trying to modify the behavior that caused you to get so worked up in the first place. I know you long ago gave up the idea of pursuing a position as administrator, and you obvoiusly realize that you don't yet possess the stability for such a position, but perhaps you could make your time on Wikipedia a little easier for you (and others). You may feel free not to respond to this message. — Knowledge Seeker 08:31, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, 216.78.95.213 for telling me what I already knew. How thoughtful of you. I noticed you removed the personal attack. Regardless, eveything I said was true, and if you were in any way involved (and knew the facts) you would probably have kept the message up there on Sergeant Snopake's talk page. But never mind. It's wrong to mock the afflicted, so I'll sign off. DiLuna25 17:24, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what sort of "intervention" you had in mind, but I seriously wouldn't bother. As far as patching up goes, what sort of patching up could you possibly do? Nathanrdotcom was so weird and creepy that he eventually weirded- and creeped-out even his friends. It's going to take more than a patch to fix that sort of damage, wouldn't you agree? TTFN DiLuna25 00:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So who are you really, then? Because I'm pretty sure Snopake doesn't have a friend by the name of 216.78.95.213

I could be wrong, but, you know, I'm not. DiLuna25 00:16, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, Moe Epsilon, I've heard of you. I heard Snopake mention you as a cool guy. Well, let me just say this: Imagine you're friends with two people half your age, who live not an hours car ride from each other when you live on the other side of the planet. Now imagine your two friends start dating.

Would you a) say "Oh, that's nice, good for you." because they were your friends and you wanted them to be happy. Or would you b) fly completely off the handle when they told you, and the next day send a nasty little email and a nasty little blog entry saying how they had hurt and betrayed you. There's a great deal more to it than that even, and the police (in this country and in Canada) were most interested and seemed to think it even stranger and more sinister than Snopake's family did. Best regards, DiLuna25 00:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose it's hard for me to stay neutral, but I won't make any more personal attacks like that, and I understand why you thought to remove it. It just makes me very angry that he has tried to paint himself as the innocent, hard-done-by victim, when both Sceptre and Snopake purposefully kept it off the wiki, when they were the ones hurt the most. I know he has a mood disorder, but he's compos mentis enough to know when he's being deliberately spiteful. I'm not getting on at you, just explaining my point of view. But I'm off to bed now, so no more editing for me! DiLuna25 00:59, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan[edit]

Re. Nathan: I know you're personally involved, but you need to understand that the block was not one made lightly. There are serious foundation issues here, and legal ramifications. Please don't make this hard; a few trusted admins have made clear to me their intention to block you. If you continue, I will. Ral315 (talk) 04:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is outrageously out of line. Under what premises do you plan on blocking him, mind I ask? ~ PseudoSudo 04:37, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In response to Moe Epsilon, I suggest you let the foundation handle it, then. They've been notified and I'm sure they, or Arbcom, will provide input in a timely manner. Until then, it won't hurt for Nathan to be blocked. Ral315 (talk) 04:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sceptre's block was removed (then replaced by Cyde). I agree that he shouldn't have placed the original block. But judging by the discussion, there is significant support for the block right now. Remember that indefinite is NOT infinite- it just means we don't know when the block should end. The ball is in the Foundation/Arbcom's court, really, but for now, the block should remain until a ruling is made. Ral315 (talk) 04:55, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wrong in my comment above. Sceptre's block is apparently the one in effect. I guess what I'm trying to say is were the issue not so tense right now that I'd look foolish doing so, I would remove the block and replace it with one of my own. I understand your point as well, but trust me, Sceptre will not be the final person in the chain. Ral315 (talk) 05:06, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

Sorry you're getting run roughshod around here. Some people just don't understand the fundamentals of meta:Don't be a dick. Good luck. --Kbdank71 17:36, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

Next time El_C blocks you, might I suggest you use the Association of Members Advocates? --scareslamfist 18:11, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock[edit]

{{unblock|What did I say? Kbdank71 just commented here and now I'm blocked? What comment exactly was incivil?}}

"13:26, 16 August 2006 Moe Epsilon (Talk | contribs | block) (screw all of you)" struck me as incivil. El_C 18:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, it's uncivil, but blockworthy? What's wrong with simply asking folks to be nicer? Friday (talk) 18:09, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
RE:Friday - didn't "simply block," Moe Epsilon keeps removing my comments from the talk page. El_C 18:24, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
*Sigh* I archived it. *see edit after removing both your comments, Deckiller's and Tdxiangs* — Moe Epsilon 18:25 August 16 '06
See also: User talk:Moe Epsilon/Archive August 2006 where comment is still visible. — Moe Epsilon 18:29 August 16 '06 18:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know it was archived; you removed it from the active conversation thread, which is ongoing. El_C 18:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the conversation was done. I didn't think anything more was going to be discussed. I usually (now) archive comments once theres nothing left to discuss. Which there wasn't. You didn't want the section, so I didn't want the page, and I thought that was going to be all; thus I archived. — Moe Epsilon 18:38 August 16 '06
That makes sense, actually. El_C 18:41, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I have no reason to lie. :) — Moe Epsilon 18:42 August 16 '06
I was not suggesting that you had/did. Anyway, you're unblocked. Best wishes for constructive edits. El_C 18:46, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Prodego[edit]

1) You're not supposed to block people you're in a dispute with 2) The comment wasn't made towards you, in general, it was made towards everyone. 3) True, it might not have been the best response, but I didn't revert back you're action, I reverted to my revision back in July, which is a revert of the entire page. Blockworthy, no. — Moe Epsilon 18:11 August 16 '06

Hey, I was on that list, what did I do? Prodego talk 18:13, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You were on the list of users I did respect :) — Moe Epsilon 18:14 August 16 '06

Which you blanked with the summary "screw all of you" correct? Prodego talk 18:15, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True, but wasn't intended towards anyone on the list though, not towards anyone in particualar, just got mad. — Moe Epsilon 18:17 August 16 '06

All right :-). Perhaps 24hr cooldown might not be so bad then? Prodego talk 18:18, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not mad anymore. I saw no justification behind the block. — Moe Epsilon 18:20 August 16 '06

You admit it was uncivil, which does mean you probably are fine now, and it isn't something I would block for, but El_C did. Naturally I can't undo his block without his approval, but I will talk to him for you. Prodego talk 18:25, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fine — Moe Epsilon 18:27 August 16 '06
I have no objection to unblocking and am comfortable with leaving the matter to Prodego's discretion and supervision. Regards, El_C 18:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to nathan?[edit]

Reversion to Phyrexia[edit]

Hi, you reverted an anon edit to Phyrexia - I have undone this reversion as the sentences which were altered by the edits made no sense as they were written and were grammatically incorrect. I can't see why you reverted them, except possibly the use of the word "loser", which is appropriate for the context. Thanks. QmunkE 06:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
