Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Red Phoenix talk 01:55, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Monobyte, may I ask if this is your first and only Wikipedia account? JOEBRO64 14:00, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Used to have another account before this one, but abandoned it because it had the same handle I use in other sites, and I decided to keep Wikipedia separate. Monobyte (talk) 14:45, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

July 2022[edit]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

Um, what are you talking about? I've never done sockpuppetry. I had another account before this, but haven't logged into it in years, and I've abandoned it like I said. I've also never partaken in the same discussion or talk page with more than one account. What's the other account I'm accused of using? Monobyte (talk) 18:04, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You're accused of being User:ESE150. It would also help if you were more forthcoming about what other accounts you've used. You're also on the same ISP as ESE150 and you're arguing about similar topics, so maybe you could explain that. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 15:28, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. I believe I can indeed explain that. I live in one of the top 3 most populous countries in the continent, and use the ISP with the largest market share here. When I subscribed to it a few years back it was pretty much a monopoly. Sonic is also a fairly popular franchise here. To give an idea: The Sega Genesis remained popular here long after it was officially discontinued, with Majesco systems and unlicensed copies of official cartridges remaining proficient well into the 2000s (if not later), and I believe we're one of the only two countries in the continent that got Sega Channel. The Sonic movies were also pretty successful here.
As for my previous account, like I said above, I decided to keep a Wikipedia account that was separate from my user handle in other websites. I wouldn't have bothered abandoning my original account and creating a new one if that weren't the case. Posting my previous handle would defeat the purpose; in that case I could just as well go back to that account and forget this one. But it certainly wasn't ESE150. Request reason:

Per my above rebuttal which was never addressed. Monobyte (talk) 21:40, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This request has not proven to be sufficiently convincing for an administrator to action in over two weeks. You are welcome to make a new, substantially reworded request if you would like to try again. I would strongly suggest reviewing the guide to appealing blocks before doing so.
