February 2023[edit]

Information icon

Hello MoriyamaTeshima. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:MoriyamaTeshima. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=MoriyamaTeshima|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:45, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there,
My name is Tess Hoover and I am the Marketing Coordinator at Moriyama Teshima Architects in Toronto, Ontario. I apologize for not disclosing this when first submitting the Wikipedia page proposal, as I am unfamiliar with the back-end system (this is my first time pitching/creating a Wikipedia page).
Moriyama Teshima Architects is a mid-sized, well-established, architectural design practice that has been operating for more than 60 years. We have had a significant role in the shaping and history of architectural design in Canada in the post-modern era.
My team has done our best to make the information impartial and factual. We have no intent for this page to act as advertising or marketing material in any way.
Our firm founder, Raymond Moriyama, has an extensive Wikipedia page and we feel that having a separate page dedicated to the practice would be complementary (when linked to Raymond Moriyama).
We have noted that many other leading architecture firms based in Toronto have Wikipedia pages that describe their practices. We feel that it would be a large omission to not have Moriyama Teshima Architects alongside these companies on Wikipedia.
Can you identify the specific areas of the proposed page that you have issue with?
Happy to edit and revise further.
Many thanks,
Tess Hoover MoriyamaTeshima (talk) 20:15, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. Whpq (talk) 20:50, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Compliance with Wikipedia code of conduct, based on locked account MoriyamaTeshima (talk) 17:13, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Renamed so unblocked. We expect your very next edit will be to perform the mandatory paid-editing disclosure as per WP:COI and we expect you'll refrain from further inappropriate editing (see WP:PROMO). Failure to do either of these may result in an immediate reblock without further warning, given your inappropriate editing so far. Yamla (talk) 17:19, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, User:KoiFish.117/sandbox[edit]
