March 2011[edit]

Hi... I restored the edits you made as good faith edits. The shamrock that was added to a section heading threw me. I don't know why it was added, but I did delete that. Wikipelli Talk 17:21, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tim Downie[edit]

{{helpme}}

Hi there, I've written a new entry about Tim Downie, and I've got a lot of citations on there but it says I still don't have enough. Is there anything specific I need to do so it gets published permanently?

(Mrsrainbow (talk) 20:29, 21 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

That's not an automatic template: it's one that was added by another editor, so it has to be removed manually -- which I just did. :-) Please bear in mind that the IMDB is not generally considered a Reliable source for articles -- if you have other sources available, you might want to add them. I'll add a welcome note above with lots of links that will help you figure out what's expected here -- have fun editing! --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 21:11, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Thank you so much for that, although it's now saying that parts of the article might be a hoax so again I'm not sure what to do! (Mrsrainbow (talk) 21:37, 21 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

I removed that too. Make sure you don't include the "tl" in a helpme link -- that makes it only link to the template, instead of including it on the page, so nobody knows you're requesting help. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 13:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Hi there, this article has been the same for weeks now, and suddenly it says: "This biographical article needs additional citations for verification. Please help by adding reliable sources. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous or harmful. (April 2011)" Do you know what is needed?? There are 23 references which is a lot more then a lot of pages I've seen. Thanks

How many of those references are to reputable sources, such as newspapers, news magazines, websites with editorial control, etc.? —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M 18:25, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Like Jeremy said, quantity is not as important as quality. Please have a look at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and add some sources that meet those criteria. Please note that the tag only states what our policy on such articles stipulates, so the tag itself did not change the need for such sources, it just made it clear for all readers. Once you added those sources, you are free to remove the tag again. Regards SoWhy 18:46, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Outlander[edit]

That section only lists main cast members, that is actors credited in the opening. If we add that actor, we'd need to add other guest actors and the list would become too long. Its purpose is to list the main cast, as the recurring and guest cast are listed in the specific characters' page.--TheVampire (talk) 23:15, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But just looking at the bottom 3rd of that list, which I’ve added below, he’s a much bigger more reoccurring part then all of them.

Natalie Simpson as Phaedre (season 4) Tantoo Cardinal as Adawehi (season 4) Caitlin O'Ryan as Lizzie Wemyss (season 4–present) Braeden Clarke as Kaheroton (season 4) Gregory Dominic Odjig as Satehoronies (season 4) Billy Boyd as Gerald Forbes (seasons 4–5)[m] Carmen Moore as Wahkatiiosta (season 4) Tom Jackson as Tehwahsehwkwe (season 4) Yan Tual as Father Alexandre Ferigault (season 4)[n] Sera-Lys McArthur as Johiehon (season 4)[o] Chris Larkin as Richard Brown (season 5) Ned Dennehy as Lionel Brown (season 5 Mrsrainbow (talk) 23:23, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As I've previously suggested, please read MOS:TVCAST. Specifically, read this line: ""main" cast members are determined by the series producers (not by popularity, screen time, or episode count)". The actors listed in that sections have ALL been credited in the opening sequence, unlike other recurring or guest actors, who have been credited as "guest starring".--TheVampire (talk) 14:15, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
