Hello,

You were blocked by a bot that tries to prevent pagemove vandalism (we unfortunately had some bouts of this earlier). Upon review, however, your pages move weren't vandalism so you've been unblocked. My apologies.

However, some of the pagemoves may not match Wikipedia naming conventions, and some of them may cause confusion. In general, a disambiguation (adding something in parentheses after a name) should allow a topic to be identified unambiguously, and "Queen (Queen)" for instance is rather confusing (the redundant part in parentheses really adds no more information than just writing "Queen" alone). The usual naming convention is to add "(album)" after album titles, or "(<<group name>> album)" if there happen to be two similarly titled albums by different groups. So for this reason I did revert those Queen-related page moves. For a common word like "Queen" it would be important to specify "album" in the disambiguation, since after all there could be a book, movie, or even person or thing with that name, and Wikipedia does cover a wide range of topics other than just musical groups and albums.

Once again, sorry for the "false-positive" bot block. -- Curps 21:14, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Individual Queen songs[edit]

Please note that individual songs by any group generally do not get individual articles. Exceptions are singles and widely notable songs. Unfortunately a song by Queen is not notable by default. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 14:38, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Queen WikiProject[edit]

Hello, I recently found out about the Queen WikiProject, and I'd like to help you out with that. I've seen some of the articles involved, and I think I can be of some help, particularly in copyediting and adding infoboxes (see most pages on singles and album tracks by U2). Should I just add my name to the Project page? --Kristbg 14:26, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

did you remove my comment from your page and not reply to it? I wasn't saying you were in fault, I was saying that terms like 'sez' are not disliked by this Wiki and are fine when used in the proper context. --69.145.123.171 22:35, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Queen WikiProject[edit]

All right, thanks! --Kristbg 22:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are you doing man? You keep substing a complete, empty WikiProject page at the end of the current one! If you need to get some material to paste, go back in the history to the oldest edit and copy it from there, or do it in a sandbox. --kingboyk 19:54, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I made a mistake.
OK, no worries. I reverted it. --kingboyk 19:56, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I want to at some point re-design the whole thing.
OK. Maybe do it in a sandbox (a temporary page in your user area) or put a {{inuse}} tag on it when you're busy? If you need any help let me know. --kingboyk 20:09, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mack (record producer)[edit]

Maybe it should be Reinhart Mack (see List of record producers). What do you think? - Mtmtmt 20:08, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, if that's the same guy it would be a better article name for sure! In which case we'll need to make a redirect or fix the incoming links. Again, let me know if you need any help on the matter. --kingboyk 20:11, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
red links Hard to tell because of talk page links, but looks about 5 or so? --kingboyk 20:13, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. By the way, his name is Reinhold Mack. - Candyfloss 22:12, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re: top 10[edit]

I have a rule that prevents one person for voting for one artist more than three of their songs. This in my mind makes the survey much more fair so I'll let you revote keeping your three favorite queen songs, and changing the rest to other artists. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Rogertaylor.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rogertaylor.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image:Johndeacon0.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Johndeacon0.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 15:34, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Rogertaylortimpani.ogg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rogertaylortimpani.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 14:24, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Non-free use disputed for Image:QUEENSTONECOLDCLASSICS.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:QUEENSTONECOLDCLASSICS.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
