Reference to the article titled "Indian Institutes of Technology"

This is in reference to second and third para in the article titled "Indian Institutes of Technology". The second paragraph of the article reads "The 1961 act lists seven institutes". But it must be brought to attention that the IIT Biill 2012 has been published in the gazette and its an Act now. Institutes of Technology Act 1961 stands amended therefore and anyone filing an RTI and asking about the institutes included in IT Act 1961 would be replied with 16 institutes. The link for the Gazette notification is this: http://www.iitbbs.ac.in/pdf/IIT-Amendment-Act-2012.pdf. So the statement that "The 1961 act lists seven institutes" is false with effect from 21st June 2012. Hence its my request to accept the changes made by me in the concerned paragraphs. I have also posted a link over there which is as follows: http://164.100.24.207/bull2/2012/26.06.2012.pdf which clearly shows that Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Bill 2012 is an Act now. Please refer to item no. 21 in the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pulkit.26mar (talkcontribs) 18:00, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Please don't interfere with the contents provided on the wiki page of Indian School of Mines. You sitting in Israel, would know less than me residing in India and being a student of Indian School of Mines. And you edited the "Conversion into an Indian Institute of Technology" section as "a" planning commission. You should be knowing that Planning Commission is a government body in India, so its "The" Planning commission. Please don't interfere in matters you ain't aware of. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashaysinha (talkcontribs) 08:01, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

What you mean is the Planning Commission, and I corrected the article to link properly. But what does this has to do with introducing alumni against policy? Do you think "residing in India and being a student of Indian School of Mines" gives you the entitlement to go against Wikipedia policies? Village of Hyas

Muhandes, I keep including a link to the Hyas website on the Village of Hyas listing and you keep removing it. WHY DO YOU KEEP REMOVING THE WEBSITE?

Anyways, if I'm doing something wrong, please either post the website link yourself or tell me what I am doing wrong, instead of just removing it and saying "you don't know what I am trying to achieve". I'm not trying to achieve anything. Other villages and towns show a link to their town website, why are you removing the one for Hyas?

I looked at the page history and I found two attempts to add the website, here and here. We have a policy about external links, and both seemed to be against that policy, so I reverted them. You have applied this article for proposed deletion based on not enough notability and have also questioned the notability of the awards organisation. PLease kindly have a look at the Talk page of the article. Anshumandutta (talk) 11:02, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

I know this is sometimes difficult for new editors, but the word "notability" has a very specific meaning in Wikipedia, please see how it is defined. The definition has nothing to do with who organizes it, who takes part or who supports it, so none of the arguments you made holds. Taking this into account, I still don't think the organization satisfies WP:ORG or WP:GNG, which are the more specific guidelines for this case. --Muhandes (talk) 11:07, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

  • The person meets the Wikipedia notability requirement. If a person in a list does not have an article in Wikipedia about them, a citation (or link to another article) must be provided to establish their membership in the list's group and to establish their notability on either BLP1E or BIO1E.

Deletion of changes to IIT page

Muhandes - long time reader but relatively new contributor so please bear with me. I noticed you have reverted several changes with the description " This is not the place for history of one specific institute, see talk page".

The information i have added is similar to the information available for example IIT-Roorke which reads "IT Roorkee was established in 1847 as the first engineering college of the British Empire.[16] Located in Uttarakhand, this college was named The Thomson College of Civil Engineering in 1854. It became first technical university of India in 1949 and was renamed "University of Roorkee". The University of Roorkee was included in the IIT system in 2001 as IIT Roorkee. It runs eleven Under Graduate, five Integrated Dual Degree, three Integrated M.Tech., three Integrated M.Sc., 61 Post Graduate and several Doctoral Programmes.[17] The campus also includes the Department of Management Studies (DOMS), offering MBA courses. It has an academic staff strength of 342 as per the session of 2007–2008.[18] The Institute has two campuses. The main campus is at Roorkee in Uttarakhand and the other one is 50 km away at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The campus at Roorkee is spread over 356 acres (1.44 km2) of landscaped lush greenery and has twelve students hostels. A 10-acre (40,000 m2) campus is being developed as an extension centre at Greater Noida". a total of 170 words. This is true for other institutes as well.

I added similar information for IT-BHU given it has similar lineage. "IIT(BHU),Varanasi traces it origins to the days of freedom struggle when three engineering and technological institutions were established by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, viz. the Banaras Engineering College (BENCO) in 1919, the College of Mining and Metallurgy (MINMET) in 1923 and the College of Technology (TECHNO). The first-ever degree courses in Mining, Metallurgy, Ceramics and Pharmaceutics in India were pioneered here. In 1971 the three premier engineering were merged to form the Institute of Technology (IT-BHU) to provide a strong and integrated educational base. To preserve its excellence and national character, admissions were instituted jointly with the IIT’s through the Joint Entrance Examination. The institute has a wide and accomplished alumni base and reputed faculty ]http://www.itbhu.ac.in/itbhu/heritage.shtml[ It has 13 departments and three inter-disciplinary schools. It was converted to an IIT in 2012." A total of 132 words.

I do not understand why different standards are being applied and why summarized historical information would not be allowed for one institute when being allowed for others.

Certification Table Entry

Hi, I was wondering if there's any way you could add a "refname" field to the {{Certification Table Entry}}, so there's no need to use the same reference twice in case a particular certification is mentioned elsewhere in the article other than the certification table. Thanks in advance. SnapSnap 17:53, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi SnapSnap. I am not really that active in editing Wikipedia anymore, but I would try to assist. Is there any reason not to use the |certref= field for this purpose? If I remember correctly, you can use anything you want in that field including an existing reference. If this is not what you are looking for, can you please give me an example of what you are trying to do, I will have a look. Cheers! --Muhandes (talk) 09:30, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
No worries. Yeah, I know there's the |certref= field, I just thought the template would benefit from a |refname= field, so that references could be more easily reused elsewhere in the article. {{Singlechart}} also contains a |refname= field; see this article for instance. Of course, this is just a suggestion. SnapSnap 21:17, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Uploading image of late Sanjoy Ghose and his team in Majuli island

You had been of kind help in improving the quality of the article of Sanjay Ghose. You had also recently (November 29 2012) helped me in uploading a photograph to the infobox. I request your kind help in uploading another photograph. It is now in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sanjoy_Ghose_with_his_team_of_social_workers_in_Majuli_island.jpg

I think the photograph contributes a bit - as this documents the young (idealistic?) team of social workers who accompanied Sanjoy Ghose to Majuli island. You may kindly be aware that he was abducted and killed by ULFA terrorists, who opposed his project to build flood embankments on the Brahmaputra entirely with the free labour contribution of the people in the island. Since his body was never found, for quite some time, it was believed that he was still alive and being kept captive by ULFA terrorists. Later on, through public confessions of some of the leaders, the details of his killing were revealed, which is on the website. A larger group of "Friends of Sanjoy Ghose" who were concerned about this, set up a website then to appeal for his release. This wesbite is http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/users/venu/SANJOY/ Some of the links in this website are dead, since much water has flowed after this tragic event. It would be quite difficult to find out the various individual collaborators of the website - as also the person who took the photograph, the person who uploaded to the website, the person who set up the website, etc.

Is it possible for you to upload this file to the Sanjoy Ghose website? Anant (talk) 08:37, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Anant. I hope I understood your request correctly. I do not know if the image you provided is free to use or not, nor do I have the means to check this. I'm not really sure why you need me to do this (rather than doing it yourself), but I added it to Sanjay Ghose in a location where it seemed logical, with a caption based on the file name. I hope this is what you wanted. --Muhandes (talk) 11:30, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Sanjoy Ghose with his team of social workers in Majuli island.jpg

(Talk) has objected to the uploading of the file. I have tried to meet his concerns, by removing the section on licenses, and by adding 'non-free fair use'.. If you can advise me, on how to meet these objections, I would be grateful. Anant (talk) 08:20, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

While I would like to assist, I'm not sure the image follows the non-free content criteria. Specifically I'm not certain "its absence would be detrimental to the article" (cf. WP:NFCC#8). If you think it does, you can add something like the following to the image page (change the text as you think fits):
{{Non-free use rationale 2
|Description = Image of Sanjoy Ghose, with his team of social workers in Majuli island.
|Source = '''Original publication''': in a website about Majuli island<br/>
'''Immediate source''': http://majuli.info/sanjoy_ghose_and_majuli.html
|Author = unknown
|Article = Sanjay Ghose
|Purpose = for visual identification of the group of people in question.
|Replaceability = Sanjoy Ghose is presumably dead for since 1997. His body was never found.
|Minimality = Will be used only to identify the group of people in the wiki article
|Commercial = There does not seem to be much commercial opportunities for the unknown owner.
}}

Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 09:26, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggestions. I have added non-free use rationale - with most of the points suggested.

RegardingWP:NFCC#8),please note
8.Contextual significance. Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding.
The circumstances surrounding his death can be better understood, if we understand the team that was working with him. The image seems to show a bunch of young, idealistic, mainly women volunteers. They chose to confront an armed terrorist organisation,ULFA, that was waging war against the Indian state, which had deployed the army in the region. I think this image "significantly increases the readers's understanding" of the way Sanjoy worked. Its omission can create speculative theories,in the readers' mind: around what he actually did to provoke this sort of brutal retaliation. Considering that he came from a "famous bureaucratic family" from Delhi: the natural suspicion, was that he could have been some sort of undercover agent. (Which was the public reason stated on why ULFA captured and executed him). Since I knew him personally (please see http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/~venu/SANJOY/sarma.article.html)- this was a crazy speculation! There were much more fruitful avenues for his career growth! He believed that Truth and Non Violence had a power more than that of bullets and guns-which violence he believed came from lack of understanding, of what was the "rural development reality". I hope this wikipedia site can help in proving that he was right?

Thanks again for taking this trouble with this site. Anant (talk) 12:51, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

I hope this helps. --Muhandes (talk) 07:45, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Hmm, so how I would I apply it to Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 for example? Erick (talk) 22:08, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean. If you apply the corrected version I made at User:Muhandes/Certification Cite/URL to Template:Certification Cite/URL, it should fix them all. --Muhandes (talk) 23:19, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Aha. I see now. I've applied and it wors now! Thank you very much! Erick (talk) 23:41, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
I'm happy it worked. Take care. --Muhandes (talk) 07:02, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

RIAA Latin certification

Hello Muhandes! The RIAA has lowered the certifications for Latin albums last December and have also created a new format for Latin Digital Singles. The threshold can be found here. It does not seem like they're amending the previously certified Latin albums this time around, so the parameters "certyear" and maybe even "certmonth" might be appropriate for Latin albums certified during or after December 2013. Would you mind helping with the certification template? I'm not really good at these things. Also, the multidisc doesn't work when the Spanish parameter is on. See K.O.B. Live where I had to add the salesamount parameter. Erick (talk) 23:07, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Can't promise anything, but I'll try to have a look sometime this week. --Muhandes (talk) 21:23, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
If you can, could you add the Uruguayan certifications? I tried doing it myself as I didn't want to take too much of your time, but I ended up messing up the certification templates and reverted everything. Erick (talk) 23:24, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
Hi Erick. I addressed the following issues:
  • Handling support for multidisc when the Spanish parameter is on
  • Handling certyear and certmonth to determine correct sales after December 2013. If the certyear parameter is missing, or if certyear=2013 and the certmonth parameter is missing, it is assumed that the old thresholds are used. If this behavior is not what you want, let me know and I'll fix it.
A fixed version of Template:Certification Table Entry/Sales can be found at User:Muhandes/Certification Table Entry/Sales. I tested it for some simple cases:
  • Support multidisc, no certyear:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 0^ |-

  • certyear=2005:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 600,000^ |-

  • certyear=2013, no certmonth:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 0^ |-

  • certyear=2013, certmonth=11:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 600,000^ |-

  • certyear=2013, certmonth=12:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 0^ |-

  • certyear=2014:

! scope="row" | United States (RIAA)[1] | 6× Platinum (Latin) | 360,000^ |-

I am now working on doing the Latin digital singles. I noticed something odd. The single "La Bomba" seems to be certified Latin since 2001, see https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?tab_active=default-award&ar=Azul+Azul&ti=La+Bomba&format=&type=#search_section... I suppose this is an error so I am not going to handle it specifically. --Muhandes (talk) 12:21, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Adding singles was much simpler than I thought. It is in fact already supported... here is an example, for "Darte un Beso":
Region Certification Certified units/sales
Mexico (AMPROFON)[2] Gold 0*
United States (RIAA)[3] 3× Platinum (Latin) 180,000^

^ Shipments figures based on certification alone.

The sales figures will be fixed when you replace Template:Certification Table Entry/Sales with User:Muhandes/Certification Table Entry/Sales. I also made a change so it ignores certyear/certmonth and always uses the 30,000/60,000 thresholds. Once you start using this, note that you will need to create the category pages Category:Singles certified Disco De Oro by the Recording Industry Association of America, Category:Singles certified Disco De Platino by the Recording Industry Association of America etc.
I am starting now to work on the Uruguayan certifications, I hope I can find the information easily. --Muhandes (talk) 12:46, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I have spent nearly an hour on trying to find where I can reference Uruguayan certifications, but I can't find my hands and legs in the website of Cámara Uruguaya del Disco. Please show me where it is and I will do my best to link it. --Muhandes (talk) 13:42, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I managed to find two pages: for 2006 and for 2005, but that's all. --Muhandes (talk) 13:54, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Oh my! Best WikiBirthday present ever! ;) For the Uruguayan certification, here is 1999-2002. 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. It seems the certifications are posted at the end of each year which is why every archive only has certifications from the previous year. Just a quickie, could you change the redirect target on the link to RIAA certification from [[RIAA certification#Spanish]] to [[RIAA certification#Singles]]? It's where I posted the information about the Latin Digital Songs. Quick question, do digital singles count as shipments or sales? Otherwise, yeah I think it's fine. EDIT: Hmm, still having trouble, when I put certyear for Corazón Profundo, it's still giving me the old certification and when I put it for Odio (song), it does not give me the correct shipment values. Erick (talk) 18:09, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I guess I wasn't clear, I did not copy the changes. Anyway, did that now and both pages seems to work correctly. Also changed the target to RIAA certification#Singles. I don't know if singles are considered shipments or sales... I guess they are the same as albums since it's the same company doing them, so left it like that. Will look at Uruguayan certification later. --Muhandes (talk) 19:57, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
oops again, you mean target for singles only.. I'll do that later. --Muhandes (talk) 19:58, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Yep, the certifications for the Latin singles are working, but I'm still seeing the old certification levels for the above article and De Líder a Leyenda. I don't know if it's just me and I need to clear my cache. Erick (talk) 20:22, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Takes the cache some time. --Muhandes (talk) 21:25, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Yep there we go. Erick (talk) 21:54, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

OK, I added the different target for singles and albums. Will try to find time to add Uruguayan certification, but this requires much more time, I need to remember how to do this :) --Muhandes (talk) 22:54, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
I added support for Uruguay. You can see an example here. There is one thing I was not sure of, which you will need to resolve. As I don't know the language, is it correct to say "certified by the Cámara Uruguaya del Disco" or "certified by Cámara Uruguaya del Disco"? If it is the former, you will need to undo the last change I made to Template:Certification Table Entry. I still need to add documentation to Template:Certification Table Entry/doc, I will to that later today. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 13:24, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

I found something interesting when I was researching on why "La Bomba" is under a Latin certification. We both assumed that it was an error from the RIAA's part. Turns out, this might not be the case after all. Since it's only the single to hold this achievement, I'll only apply it to the article about the song. Erick (talk) 07:27, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Clearly, if it is a one-of case, the easiest way is to handle it on itself. Let me know if you need any more help with the template, I'm happy to see that while I am not here anymore, my creations still help people :). --Muhandes (talk) 08:32, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Austria's certification-levels

I've once had a discussion with you regarding Austria's certification levels, it must have been years ago. Anyways, some months ago IFPI Austria e-mailed me their detailed changes in certification-levels. Since now you're semi-active, perhaps you can make the necessary adjustments for the Template:Certification Table Entry to bring up the correct levels. Here it is.--Harout72 (talk) 00:18, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

I will try to find the time to do it in the next week. It is the Passover vacation so I actually have some time. --Muhandes (talk) 07:21, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Done all seems to be in order, let me know if there are any problems. --Muhandes (talk) 14:27, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
I checked various dates both for singles and albums, all seemed to work well. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 15:35, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Expanding cita_web with Spanish parameters

Hi, User:Wikid77 here. I am expanding the Template:Cita_web to handle Spanish parameters, acting as an "exact copy" of es:Plantilla:Cita_web, plus allow any English-language parameters in the mix to run {{cite web}}. I think this design, feasible now using Lua, is following the idea you had suggested in the RfD of July 2010
     • wp:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2010_July_18#Template:Cita_web
The prior redirect had become troublesome as rejecting the unrecognized Spanish parameters, while the newly expanded template can show actual formatted cites and links from Spanish parameters, as typically written by various users. Likewise, other templates provide dual support for German parameter names, such as "Einwohner=" or "population=" with Austrian towns. Hence, I implemented your suggestion, tested as the /sandbox version Template:Cita_web/sandbox, and installed. However, now there is a debate to prevent the expanded template. See discussion:
     • Template_talk:Cita_web#Expanded as a full template
Your opinions would be appreciated in that discussion, when you have time. Thanks. -Wikid77 (talk) 12:44, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Both sides present compelling arguments. At this point my involvement with Wikipedia is at such that I chose not to take a side. --Muhandes (talk) 11:04, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Rajarata University

Hi, Mr. Muhandes, I recently updated some in the "Rajarata University" Page and uploaded some images. However they have been deleted due to violation of copyright. I'm working at the Rajarata University and I'm a web developer at the university as well. The images uploaded were my own works and the texts were composed by our team.

BR — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgsplk (talkcontribs) 17:18, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

Dear BR. Please read carefully the policies I linked at your page. The material you posted is in breach of at least three policies. First, as a person strongly involved with the university you should completely avoid editing the page since you lack a neutral point of view. Second, the materials were not released to the public so they are still under copyright. You can see in that policy how to release it. Finally, the material is very clearly promotional and advertising. My suggestion is that you leave this article alone. If you wish to contribute to Wikipedia, edit other articles. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 06:53, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Streaming?

Hello Muhandes! Thanks again for your help earlier. Something's been on my mind right now and it's certifications for streaming. I believe right now only IFPI Denmark does this, but I can imagine more certifying authorities doing this as the music industry continues to go more digital. So I was thinking about a new symbol just for streaming. Maybe ~ or ° as a symbol with the bottom "figures based on streaming" or something like that. Thoughts? Erick (talk) 19:13, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Erick. In general, the template tries to follow List of music recording certifications, which is a featured list, and therefore I believed is pretty well sourced. If the consensus is that the "Based on" column in that list should include this information, I think so should the template. Otherwise, I think it might be less relevant information, and "sales" should cover streaming as well. This (the latter) would also be my personal opinion. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 07:30, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
Hmm yeah, you make a fair point. I guess I haven't thought of that. Erick (talk) 09:08, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Remember when you mentioned that sales should cover streaming as well? Well do you think you include a parameter that says "streaming=yes" which changes the ^ to a * just like "digital=true" for the RIAA? Denmark and Spain are the countries that I know that has certifications for streaming. Maybe also include have the value of streaming for both countries as well by having the "streaming=yes" as well? The streaming figures for Denmark can be found on IFPI Denmark and Spain's streaming figures can be found here (4 million streams is gold and 8 million streams is platinum). Erick (talk) 17:53, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Erick. I just returned from a trip abroad so I'm not sure how much time I have on my hands. But I will try to have a look soon. --Muhandes (talk) 05:36, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry Erick, I couldn't find time to do this before. I am on Holiday vacation for Sukkot this week, so if you want me to have a look now, please let me know if this is still relevant and what exactly you want me to do. --Muhandes (talk) 06:54, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Template:Infobox India university ranking

Template:Infobox India university ranking has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 05:50, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

I voiced my opinion. I think asking what to do should have come before nominating for deletion, but that's another example of what Wikipedia really is. Can't say I'm sorry for retiring. --Muhandes (talk) 09:50, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
I am very sorry if you are offended by my nomination of the page. In my defence, the page is actually called "Templates for discussion" and it was my intention to start a discussion on how to solve the problem I have identified. The unfortunate fact is that despite the name of the page, to list something there requires the label "considered for deletion" being placed on the template itself. Thank you for your input at the discussion. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:56, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Well, the phrasing is indeed misleading, From my experience WP:TFD is for discussion about deleting and no other subject. If you want to discuss the template development try the workgroup involved, WP:INEI. I hope someone there is still active. --Muhandes (talk) 07:19, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Template:Certification Table Entry

Hello Muhandas, I know you are not as active on Wikipedia as you once were, but I just wanted to ask you a quick question. I believe you originated the above template, and used to respond to most queries for template alterations on the talk page, but have you effectively handed over this responsibility nowadays? I am asking as I think some of the documentation is now out of date, particularly regarding Dutch and Irish certifications which are no longer easy to find and result in dead links using the template citation, and the thorny problem of how to distinguish between pure sales certifications and combined sales/streaming certifications (RIAA for one gives out two different certifications for each "sales" definition – see "Bohemian Rhapsody", for example), something that wasn't an issue when you created the template. If you have no interest in this subject any more, no problem and sorry to bother you, but as the template originator I thought I should notify you before I put the issue to others and the template is altered accordingly if consensus prevails. Richard3120 (talk) 20:32, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Richard. Thanks for letting me know. I am happy people are still using this template, at the time it seemed like a really good idea. But I am afraid that I have decided not to take an active part in Wikipedia anymore. At some point it became obvious to me that I was spending 90% of my time on other people's stupidities and only 10% on editing and other things I enjoyed. So I hope someone else will take it upon themselves to maintain the template, and I wish you and all other editors the best of luck. --Muhandes (talk) 21:16, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you – I'll see what can be done, I only thought it polite to inform you first. I'll see if I can discover how to edit the template myself! I and other people do sincerely appreciate the effort you made to create these certification templates, they are extremely useful. Unfortunately the passage of time has rendered some of the old links obsolete, as the record associations have revamped their websites, and some maintenance is required.
I completely agree with you about having to spend far too much time reverting and correcting unsourced or irrelevant material, or wilful vandalism, as I find myself having to do a lot of that myself – another editor I work with is of the opinion that although Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, you should need a registered account first to do so, which which stop a lot of pointless anonymous IPs causing havoc and wasting people's time. Thank you and best wishes for whatever you decide to do in the future. Richard3120 (talk) 21:33, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
If you have any questions about the template, or something you are not sure how to do, feel free to ask. --Muhandes (talk) 07:28, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you – I'm just discussing it with some other editors on the talk page, I think the first thing to do is get consensus to effectively have "USphysical" and "USdigital" region parameters put in, as this will be the most straightforward part to change (as everything will be "digital" going forward, I think the easiest will be to point the current "United States" region parameter to digital certifications and then introduce a new "physical=yes" parameter for old-style certifications)... I also need to gather opinion on what we're going to do and Dutch and Irish certificates, seeing as these are no longer on the relevant websites and any use of the region parameters for "Dutch100", "Ireland", etc. results in a dead link. Richard3120 (talk) 16:18, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi Scott. I've nominated the page for deletion since I can't see how it passes Wikipedia's guidelines for notability of organizations and companies. Basically, notability requires significant coverage in reliable secondary sources. Other than press releases (which obviously don't count) all I could find was an interview in AutomatedBuilding.com, which I don't believe qualifies as significant coverage. You can submit other sources at the deletion discussion page. --Muhandes (talk) 07:22, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Seems you didn't bother to take part in the discussion and the page was deleted. If you ever want to recreate it, I suggest you first collect some reliable secondary sources and step lightly. I left you a message on your talk page when you joined with some information on how to move forward. --Muhandes (talk) 06:59, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
