Information icon Hello, I'm Hzh. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Asian Sailing Federation, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Asian Sailing Federation, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Hzh (talk) 13:41, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am narangaj Please advise on how to add information about Asian Sailing Federation on the existing page hosted on Wiki. The information currently is NIL and just points to World Sailing page. I am new to Wiki and would like to find a way to update the information so that correct details are displayed. Our website www.asiansailing.org has all the required information and the Wiki page needs to display similar information. Narangaj (talk) 16:19, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

October 2018 redux, or please don't add promotional content about your organization here

[edit]

I don't think you read the above warnings, or perhaps you've just chosen to ignore them in a misguided desire to add promotional content to Wikipedia. So let's add the following:

Information icon Hello, Narangaj. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:16, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional Content

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Apologies if you thought I was adding promotional material !! Never the intention to do so. I am only trying to figure out why the Asian Sailing Federation Wiki page does not show the appropriate information. Narangaj (talk) 07:26, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your interest in working on Wikipedia. I am writing regarding your edit request at Talk:Asian Sailing Federation. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. That is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, and all content must have the appropriate documentation in place before that can happen. Please see Wikipedia:donating copyrighted materials which explains how it works. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:02, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
