Cyril Pavillard

Hi, I have created an account in order to correct/improve the page for the open source project named Open-Sankoré (more improvement to be done in the future) and meanwhile I thought about adding webdoc which is a startup I founded but I realized it was against your terms of use (sorry about that). Though, given the story, technologies used, ... and seeing other pages from similar startups, how should I proceed ? Thank you for your help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyril Pavillard (talkcontribs) 19:37, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Again, you really shouldn't be writing about your own startup. If someone else were to write about it, they would need to show that it met our requirements for notability (WP:CORP) as shown by reliable, independent sources (see WP:V). NawlinWiki (talk) 19:41, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the precisions, I totally understand. Regarding open-Sankoré, I guess I hope it's not a problem if I bring corrections and improvements as long as it keeps being objective and meaningful regarding the terms of use of wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyril Pavillard (talkcontribs) 19:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rashad Evans

I must say it is appreciated that you protected the Rashad Evans page. I noticed the edits and attempted to undo them. There were also incorrect changes to the UFC fight night 8 page but I've managed to undo those. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.220.140.106 (talk) 02:32, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

North Street Capital

Would like to write a 'North Street Capital, LP' page, how do I get a deletion undone? Kaylogs (talk) 18:07, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I deleted that page because the author had blanked it. The author blanked it after being notified that it is against Wikipedia policy to simply cut and paste from the company's "About Us" page. If you can write an original article, citing reliable independent sources (see WP:V) to show that this company is notable per WP:CORP, feel free to repost. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 21:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

LA Commons

I'm putting together a page that was speedily deleted. I understand the reason it was deleted, but I hadn't really even begun putting it together. It will take me a few days to finish it. Can I post the page and have some time to write it up before it gets deleted?

Thanks in advance,

A big NPT update

Hey! Big update on what the developers have been working on, and what is coming up:

coding

  • Fixes for the "moved pages do not show up in Special:NewPages" and "pages created from redirects do not show up in Special:NewPages" bugs have been completed and signed off on. Unfortunately we won't be able to integrate them into the existing version, but they will be worked into the Page Triage interface.
  • Coding has been completed on three elements; the API for displaying metadata about the article in the "list view", the ability to keep the "patrol" button visible if you edit an article before patrolling it, and the automatic removal of deleted pages from the queue. All three are awaiting testing but otherwise complete.

All other elements are either undergoing research, or about to have development started. I appreciate this sounds like we've not got through much work, and truthfully we're a bit disappointed with it as well; we thought we'd be going at a faster pace :(. Unfortunately there seems to be some 24-72 hour bug sweeping the San Francisco office at the moment, and at one time or another we've had several devs out of it. It's kind of messed with workflow.

Stuff to look at

We've got a pair of new mockups to comment on that deal with the filtering mechanism; this is a slightly updated mockup of the list view, and this is what the filtering tab is going to look like. All thoughts, comments and suggestions welcome on the NPT talkpage :). I'd also like to thank the people who came to our last two office hours sessions; the logs will be shortly available here.

I've also just heard that the first functional prototype for enwiki will be deployed mid-April! Really, really stoked to see this happening :). We're finding out if we can stick something up a bit sooner on prototype.wiki or something.

I appreciate there may be questions or suggestions where I've said "I'll find out and get back to you" and then, uh. not ;p. I sincerely apologise for that: things have been a bit hectic at this end over the last few weeks. But if you've got anything I've missed, drop me a line and I'll deal with it! Further questions or issues to the usual address. Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 17:04, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I was recently trying to find a discussion about POV on Wikipedia from a while back, and remembered that it probably took place on the talk page of Template:Horror Icons. This template was deleted at a TfD in 2007, located here. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to this template to be moved to my userspace, just so I can look back at the discussion for reference? You were not the editor who deleted the Template after the AfD, but you did delete some sort of other template at its name a year later, so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks!--Yaksar (let's chat) 23:53, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Spambot proxy use

Hi thanks for helping out the the spambot stopping in the last few hours. I suggest that we put a {{proxy block}} on the talk page, so if a human use does get to use that IP they will have an idea what is happening. Also I have been checking the global contribs to see if other Wikipedia projects have been damaged. So far I only find that any vandalism has been reverted on the other other languages. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:28, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I realize this is sort of a stale issue, but I would still like to bring this to your attention. I reported this to another admin., but he took no action.

Can you please caution Andy Dingley about making personal comments? My edits have nothing to do with him, beyond an overlap in our areas of interest, yet he insists upon making personal comments about my edits, including repeated accusations of ownership. Frankly, I have tired of it. I removed a category from The City of Lost Children, because there was no support in the article for said category. Along comes Andy with his accusations and personal comments. Since it is my intention to continue editing this article --- I just posted at RSN questioning the reliability of his sources --- it is possible that this editor and I will butt heads again. This needs to stop. Thanks. ---RepublicanJacobiteTheFortyFive 14:55, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

im not sure what i did wrong, do i need to have more discussion on it's significance? they are one of the largest thread providers/suppliers in the united states, and are very popular among the quilting and sewing circles, but i dont know how anyone outside of those circles would know anything about them. Im not sure where i should go to get proof, like sales volume or anything like that, all i really know is that they are an important company in the thread industry. what kind of info do i need to go hunt to to add to the article? or did i make this incorrectly or should i have not written it at all?

thanks for your help/patience, ~~Mikki~~ oh, or can we somehow request other people to edit/add to it so that it is complete. is that even a thing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrs.scrapbook0473 (talkcontribs) 21:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wingnut Dishwasher's Union

Hullo, good sir/madam. Wondering why you deleted the Wingnut Dishwasher's Union page... the band is important to its fans and there is a large and interesting story behind every song (speaking as a music lover and not only as a fan.) and its lead singer.
