Hello,

Can you please guide to explanation why the "Strikeball" page has been deleted, with out even having a chance to rewrite the content if it was not matching any particular guidelines. Strikeball is a growing sport that is very popular oversees and finally has made its way to the USA. Many federal and law enforcement agencies are using strikeball for their training purposes, thus providing general wikipedia definition of the sport was needed. Thank you Cccpmd666 (talk) 20:05, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • First, the article is written in promotional language: "Strikeball™ Replica Firearm (SRF) is a look-a-like clone of its real life counterpart. The look, feel, and functionality are matched as closely as possible to the original firearms to provide complete realistic experience to the user." See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. Second, we only have your/the company's word for it that this activity is "very popular". You need to cite reliable, independent sources (see WP:V) that show that this product is notable per our guidelines, WP:N. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:11, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello,

Thank you for clarification. How can one make edits if the page has been deleted so quickly? as I was in the process of editing it? Will citing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft be also a valid option? and what about websites in other languages? youtube search for videos http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=strikeball&sm=3 ( having 9 thousand people at the event is considered to be a popular by definition)Cccpmd666 (talk) 20:19, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • No, Wikipedia and YouTube (as sources that anyone can edit or post on) are not themselves reliable sources. Please do read WP:V before asking more questions. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:20, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • So how can one make edits if the page is deleted?Cccpmd666 (talk) 20:22, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Why did you delete the page for Republican Derrick E. Grayson @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derrick_E._Grayson. How is Mr. Grayson not verifiable? He is running for Senate 2014 in the state of Georgia. He is a vetted Republican and conservative political activist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raabixx (talkcontribs) 04:07, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • See WP:BIO -- "Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article". You would have to cite such sources. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:50, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay. That does make more sense. And thank you for the fast reply. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raabixx (talkcontribs) 20:22, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OTB Group[edit]

Question: Could you give me some examples of what was to ambiguous or commercial for the OTB Group page that has been deleted, please? Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OTB info (talkcontribs) 16:59, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Ever since his beginnings, discovering, fostering and supporting creativity has been paramount to OTB president Renzo Rosso, who, over time, has given incredible career opportunities to young members of his team", for starters. There is a lot of other promotional language, basically saying how wonderful Mr. Rosso and his company are. See WP:NPOV. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:02, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello, I have removed adjectives and whole paragraphs in order to avoid promotional language, I have added references too, but the article has been again removed yesterday. Can you tell me please what part or section do I have to change to get the article published, please? Thanks in advance
  • Can someone answer me, please??? I have the strong feeling you have removed the page without reading it again so you haven't seen the modifications 16:58, 7 February 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.96.226.148 (talk)

Can you please take a look at this hit of filter 16? It looks like a false positive to me. However, I can't be sure, as this filter appears to be aimed at a sockpuppeteer who I'm unfamiliar with. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 04:57, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You deleted this page in February 2007; a carzy is a UK slang term for a toilet. I have recreated the page as a redirect.--Launchballer 22:03, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The deleted "Carzy" article was unrelated, so no problem. Thanks for letting me know. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:39, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am confused as to why you deleted my links to interviews, notably Hisashi Eguchi. This article is one of the most thorough, in-English interviews Eguchi has done. Does the fact that it comes from a commercial magazine warrant deletion?Nickdilelele (talk) 21:26, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem is the multiple links to the same magazine - it makes it appear that you are just trying to promote the magazine through Wikipedia. If you limited it to the one article on Eguchi, that would probably be OK. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:43, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting Template[edit]

Why you delete my template, Nawlin wiki. Did you not watch the this discussion. - Yasir72.multan 119.160.118.249 (talk) 15:47, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yasir, you are not going to be unblocked at this time. There's too much recent sockpuppetry (including today). You should read Wikipedia:Standard offer. That involves waiting for *six months*, without any sockpuppetry, before asking to return. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:52, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • NawlinWiki deleted the template just seconds before I attempted to. I support his deletion and his comments above. Canvassing admins who weren't involved is just going to lead to unintended consequences. --  Gadget850 talk 16:19, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Does really it works?[edit]

Hello Nawlin,I have read the standard order and I want to ask you that is it really works?. If I do not do any sockpuppetry waiting six months, then can I really unblocked?. Please tell me on your own talk page please. 119.160.119.136 (talk) 18:51, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are a lot of qualifications contained in the Standard Offer. You need to read that page carefully. If I have to repeat everything on that page to you, that might be an indication that you shouldn't be working on Wikipedia. But if you can follow the advice on that page, feel free to contact me in July about unblocking you. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:42, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page question[edit]

Hi Nawlin, you deleted my page: Lapa Rios Ecolodge because it was too commercial. I have stayed at this property and it is not just a commercial enterprise but and important milestone in Costa Rica's ecotourism movement. It has been recognized by many large news publications and I can provide citations from Travel & Leisure[1], NBC [2], Huffington Post[3], and National Geographic [4]just to name a few. As this was my first page perhaps I didn't create the page properly?

Thanks for your help

Hi Nawlin. Did you check revision history prior to deletion? The article was (poorly if at all sourced) about a 2002 Brazilian musical act and had been around for some time. The user responsible for Christina Chriss repeatedly tried to hijack Kaleido to turn it into an article about a 2011 Detroit band. Best, Sam Sailor Sing 18:09, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

RONCO Canada[edit]

Hello Nawlin.
I tried creating an article about RONCO Canada, publish it right away and it got deleted. I believe there is some trigger that automatically causes deletion. Can you please revise this? I just wanted to clarify the confusion between Ronco USA (a company who has an article published on Wikipedia) and RONCO Canada, a totally different company that has nothing to do with Ronco USA. I followed all the guidelines, the post is not spam and has interesting information on the company. There might have been previous posts in the past about this company which were not following the Wikipedia guidelines and so it maybe caused the company to get flagged. I now created a page in the sandbox and re-submitted it for review. If you have a way to retrieve this submission sooner than the 3 to 4 weeks I was notified it will take now, it would be appreciated. So please review and consider removing the flag and auto deletion for this name.
Thank you.

Attention[edit]

I notice you have removed an article I am working on, Grits belt, the article was not completed and refered to a seperate thing despite your explanation, Grits are the foodstuff and Grits belt is the area of the US that is known for grits, would later have made reference to the socio-economic consequences of grit belt and how this affected the area, can you please restore the article to its original location. Hella New Thing (talk) 17:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC) == Update, it is ok, I had the text on file. Can you please not remove this again until the article is finished. Hella New Thing (talk) 17:08, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's not enough for you to say "People in the South eat grits, so the South is called the Grits belt." You need to find reliable independent sources (see WP:V) showing that the South is commonly referred to as the Grits Belt. Otherwise, it's original research or a term you made up, neither of which is appropriate for Wikipedia. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:09, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article itself on Grits actually mentions the Grits belt! Your call. Hella New Thing (talk) 17:12, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    • That article cites one source, which uses the term "grits belt" exactly once. That doesn't seem like enough for a separate article. I would be fine with a redirect from Grits belt to Grits. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:15, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • How do you introduce a redirect. And is there room for expanding the Grit article to cover socio-economic impact of the grits belt? Hella New Thing (talk) 17:19, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
        • I'll do the redirect for you. We already have articles about the economics and culture of the American South - again, you would need to find articles that discuss those topics as specifically related to a "Grits Belt", as being different from the South itself. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:23, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You proposed that the new article be deleted as per WP:NEO, but you neglected to check the References. All seven are secondary sources that describe usage of the hashtag. According to Wikipedia guidelines: "To support an article about a particular term or concept we must cite what reliable secondary sources, such as books and papers, say about the term or concept, not books and papers that use the term." Please remove the deletion tag. Thank you.ErykahHuggins (talk) 21:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Changed from prod to afd for further discussion - as stated there, I'm skeptical about articles on specific hashtags (especially when the hashtag creator herself doesn't have an article). NawlinWiki (talk) 21:46, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point. I think the article should stand at least until she has an article, at which point there could be a discussion about merger. She has enough press to warrant an entry at this point. Request to Create/Re-Create deleted page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_and_Tracer[edit]

Greetings!

In 2007, the article pertaining to the artist 'Ten and Tracer' was deleted as apparently upon mentioning the existence of the article, the fans of the artist quickly defaced the page, filling it with erroneous/unverifiable information. However, the artist does exist and continues to release music, compose music for various films, and has created sound effects/music for LEGO videogames as well. I would like the opportunity to re-create the page and populate it with pertinent, verifiable information.

Artist's website: www.tenandtracer.com [1] LEGO Universe Credits (featuring Jonathan Canupp - aka Ten and Tracer): LEGO Universe IMDB Page [2] Trigger Documentary Trailer - featuring music by Ten and Tracer: [3] - alternate source for music (song "Distal-less in Gaza") to verify composition by Ten and Tracer: Cold Finishes the Monk album [4]

Discography of Artist/Alternate Source of Name/Alias relationship - i.e. Jonathan Canupp=Ten and Tracer on Discogs.com[5]

Thank you very much for your time/attention! Regards, CJ

  • Sources showing Wikipedia notability must be reliable and independent, see WP:V. The artist's own website is not independent, and IMDB (which allows user-created entries) is not a reliable source. Please also look at WP:MUSIC. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:04, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstatement of Houghton International[edit]

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have recently joined the company Houghton International.

On investigation, I have discovered that the following page; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houghton_International has been deleted by yourself as "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion." on the 5 August 2009.

I am unaware of a previous listing by the company, and it may be possible that another organisation created the offending page.

Regardless of the history, I would now like to create a Houghton International page that complies with your page policies.

I am happy to work with you to produce a page that meets your approval, for example I could forward a draft copy.

I look forward to hearing from you, I would be grateful if you could respond using my email address as below.

  • I would rather not communicate off-Wiki. What you need to do is (1) register a user account (representing just you, not the company); (2) draft an article in your user space; (3) let me know when you are ready for me to look at it. Any article would need to be non-promotional (see WP:SPAM), written in neutral language (see WP:NPOV) and supported by reliable, independent sources (i.e., not the company's own website, see WP:V). • Well, there's "eventually creating models that satisfied varying levels of users", for starters. The bigger problem is that the article just is a long recitation basically talking about all the good things that the company does for its customers. It also doesn't cite to any independent sources (see WP:V) showing the company to be notable per our standards, see WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:15, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstatement of Houghton International - Draft content for approval[edit]

Dear Nawlin,

As requested I have created a new personal account not representing the company. I have posted a draft in my user space for your review.

I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

  • The draft is no longer promotional (except for the section about the company's products), but the article does not show that the company is notable per our standards at WP:CORP. Kuan Sanchez[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki - Quick question - The page for Kuan Sanchez was deleted citing that because "no season games were played" the player is not notable. The page was edited by a third party that included a section for season games. The original creator did not update the information that was randomly inserted by another member of the community. Kuan Sanchez played as #21 for the Pittsburgh Steelers and has played in professional season games when the primary running back was injured. The profile page that was listed in the references indicated the statistical records of Kuan Sanchez (IE: 1 TD). Please reconsider the action. Thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.142.80.35 (talk) 00:16, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article appears to be a hoax. I can find no reliable independent sources (see WP:V) establishing that this person was ever signed by the Steelers, let alone played in a regular-season game. The web mentions of Mr. Sanchez appear to be self-created and also hoaxes (for example, the only source cited, nflrookieplayers.com, is a domain owned by (surprise) Kuan Sanchez). Article now protected against reposting. NawlinWiki (talk) 02:09, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • (1) How does this company meet the standards of WP:CORP? In particular, the only source cited that is actually about this company is the Journal article from 2008. But "The depth of coverage of the subject by the source must be considered. If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple[1] independent sources should be cited to establish notability. Reinstatement of Houghton International[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki,

Thank you for your feedback. I have amended the draft for your review, specifically removing the references to Michael Mitten that do not directly relate to the company.

Regarding the other 2 references ie AEMT and IPO, both make clear reference to the company. For the AEMT pdf please see pages 10-12 and for the IPO patent, it states 'Applicant/Proprietor' Houghton International.

Given the above, are you now in a position to approve?

  • No. You are still not addressing why this company is notable per WP:CORP. Just having an IPO isn't enough. What items under WP:CORP does this company satisfy? NawlinWiki (talk) 15:44, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Just asking, have you blocked this user? Thanks.E Wing (talk) 23:11, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nawlin. You deleted page about "Simple Nash". Could you reestablish it and I'll add an information in the article why it is very significant software. I can write a little bit about it here: it is very popular in poker community for it's opportunity to calculate Nash equilibrium with taking in count mathematical poker effects that doesn't take in count other poker calculators, e.g. card removal effect, future game simulation effect, different modulations and so on. It has history of it's development on the site (it has been developed for 3 years). And why page about "pokerstove" isn't deleted?

  • You would need to cite reliable independent sources (see WP:V) that discuss this software and show how it is notable per WP:WEB. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:59, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nawlin. You had just deleted my page (John Amico Sr./John Amico Haircare) due to unambiguous advertising and promoting a company. Can you give me a little more feed back as to what made this article a form of advertisement? Lmallo44 (talk) 18:16, 20 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lmallo44 (talkcontribs) 17:48, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Let's see. "He was inspired to create his own shampoo"; "included ground-breaking items still popular today"; "providing great staying power"; "Founder John Amico Sr. sees a bright future ahead." See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV for more detail on our policies. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:32, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstatement of Houghton International[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki,

Thank you for your feedback. I am somewhat confused as to why we do not meet the WP:CORP criteria as we now have 3 quality independent sources linking directly to the organisation; The Journal( national media),AEMT the international trade association and IPO, the UK patent authority. Is there a minimum number of references required as i have seen other organisations on Wikipedia with less than 3?

requesting further explanation for deletion of Code4Cause[edit]

Hello, You had deleted my page Code4Cause citing lack of notability as a reason. Isn't being the first such organization of their kind in India sufficient to meet the notability criterion as is the coverage of their events by reputed newspapers?

Thank you

barry hardy[edit]

My recent addition was deemed not constructive and removed, I understand the absurdity in the statement but this is professional wrestling and as an adviser for mr.hardy we would like to be offered the freedom to promote this story which will bring us exposure for a future match between mgm and Barry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Badboybarry87 (talkcontribs) 22:00, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Page you recently deleted[edit]

Hello there :P I'm here for a page that you recently deleted. The creator of that page thinks that I deleted that page :P So is there anything that you can do to solve this ? :O I just added a deletion tag on the page he created :P as I thought it was insignificant/ not notable. I don't know anything to do so, I think you should have the final say in this :P Manish767 22:09, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

yes41.com[edit]

I've seen a number of apparent spambots adding links to yes41.com, usually nested in Korean text, in the past few days. It's probably a blacklisting candidate, probably globally, since I doubt this is the only project getting hit. The most recent example is Iamhere1413 (talk · contribs). I can't find previous related blocks right now, but I know I've blocked similar accounts in the last week or so. Any suggestions on blacklisting (I have no skills with regex and know better than to try)?

Also I've seen IPs trying to insert links to ojooo.2bj.ru, which are getting picked up by the edit filter. Acroterion (talk) 04:44, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Protection duration[edit]

Is there a reason you reduced the protection duration here? Knowing where the accounts originate, and seeing that the vandalism goes back almost four months, the protection should at least extend to the end of the school year. Cheers —DoRD (talk) 14:15, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • My mistake! I didn't notice the 2015 and thought you had only protected for one day. I changed it back to 1 year. Thanks,NawlinWiki (talk) 15:36, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Videology page deletion[edit]

Hi there. This is regarding the deletion of the Videology article I posted yesterday. The reason given was because there was "no explanation of significance." I was wondering if I could get more clarification.

According to A7 of the Criteria for Speedy Deletion article, an article must demonstrate why the subject is important or significant. It also states, "The criterion does apply if the claim of significance or importance given is not credible." In terms of credibility, it appears clear that the subject of the article has been covered by credible and reliable sources such as the New York Times and revered advertising and technology trade publications such as AdWeek and Tech Crunch.

As an aside, I'd be remiss to note that very similar advertising technologies currently have published Wikipedia articles, such as TubeMogul, YuMe and Adap.tv. Videology seems no less important in the advertising technology industry than these companies, especially when considering coverage in credible media sources as well as the amount of capital invested in Videology.

I'm very interested in discussing this further with you and completely amenable with any suggested ways to improve the article on the subject matter.

Thank you for your help, time and assistance.

  • The article makes no assertion that the company is notable per our standards at WP:CORP. Being one of 5000 companies in the Inc 5000 for one year doesn't do it. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:29, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay. Thanks for your quick response. I have a couple of questions for you, but I'll begin with: 1) How is it justifiable that companies such as TubeMogul, YuMe and Adap.tv meet the notability standards of Wikipedia and Videology does not? I'm a bit confused by this. Thanks. JBVG2014 (talk) 17:02, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tender Buttons Press page deletion[edit]

  • Hi Nawlin. Please check the Tender Buttons Press page again to see if it is now up to standard. Apologies for saving prior to completion; I am new here. Also, if you could please help with the title - Can the second two words in the title be adjusted to be capital letters? Is this possible? Thank you Ironchic (talk) 20:23, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Ironchic(talk)[reply]
    • You've added sources that show notability for the authors that this press has published - but no sources about the press itself, or why it's notable per WP:CORP. I've tagged for proposed deletion (rather than speedy deletion) to allow you to add sources if they exist. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:44, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • I copyedited the article, including moving it to capitalize the title, without realizing it had been deleted once. So if you want to delete it again, it moved to Tender Buttons Press. Art LaPella (talk) 05:27, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Nawlin. I would like to include these links as reference for the wiki page(Echospawn_Studios). I hope I am posting this correctly as I am very new to this wiki creation, and it has been quite hard to understand all the processes. I just want to set up the wiki pages properly.
