Please check the page Karan Singh Grover by yourself[edit]

The red pen of doom and a few other biased fans of other celebrities has something against the page Karan Singh Grover they have removed loads of encyclopaedic information without any consensus, please since you are administrator you should have a look at things rather than assuming and being blind to some editors — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.23.217.93 (talk) 17:31, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

APPSeCONNECT page creation[edit]

Hi Nawlin Wiki,

I have been creating the page for APPSeCONNECT but during editing, I have published the page. Is saving a page publishes it online ? I was trying to modify the page by removing contents and giving citations but it has been deleted now.

Can you please help me on how to proceed ? Abhi2434 (talk) 18:11, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have just noticed that the page Insync is also been deleted. I have created the page without any advertisement and tried to put citation. Can you please remove the deleting tag, and let me know what should I need to edit to make that page active.

Please help me. Abhi2434 (talk) 18:37, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hiromi Tango wikipedia page[edit]

Hi -- I was asked by Hiromi Tango to create a wikipedia page, after someone else had tried and it was deleted. We just spent the last couple of hours creating content that was sourced from Hiromi's website, hiromitango.com, most of which I have edited personally over the years. We got a message that it was deleted due to copyright infringement on materials on the Sullivan Strumpf website, who represent her. Ironically, the Sullivan Strumpf website uses written material that we have generated for Hiromi's personal website. How can we resolve this? 161.184.224.39 (talk) 01:37, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia articles need to be supported by independent sources, see WP:RS, not by the subject's own website or that of her agents. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:19, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

River + Wolf speedy deletion -[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki, Regarding the speedy deletion of the "river + wolf" page, I worked very closely with 2 wiki pages of similar companies in the same field (1st)(2nd), in order to write according to the wiki rules. Can you guide me what were the parts that were not suitable in the page? how can I edit this subject so it will be approved? Thanks! shkd109.65.181.206 (talk) 17:11, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Speedy deletion of page "The Hit House"[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki, I would really appreciate it if you would undo the delete of the page "The Hit House", or, alternately, let me know what I can do to change it so it corrects any problems you feel are occurring. To address your issues with it, first of all, I feel like your assertion of "No credible indication of importance" is unfair, as this musical company has created music for some of the biggest blockbuster movies of our time (as indicated in the article), including Disney's "Frozen", "Minions", and a very successful campaign for the Playstation 3 game "Bloodborne". This is supported in a linked article from Daily Variety, as well as Trailermusicweekly.com, both independent and verifiable sources. It is also just a start, with more information coming soon. As far as "Unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-hit-house", it was a mistake for me to add that link, but, if you look in the history of the page, you'll see that that was added after it was flagged in a misguided attempt to assuage the flag of copyright infringement. While there is similar language in both pages, at the end of the day you'll see that they are both simply basic descriptions of the company, and it was not, in fact, copied from it. I will of course be happy to remove that link. Thank you very much in advance and I appreciate your hopefully understanding. Plug81 (talk) 18:53, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Being a vendor (even a music vendor) for notable companies or films does not confer notability - otherwise, we would have articles for every catering company, electric supply company, etc. that ever worked on a notable film. The Trailermusic cite is just the company's list of trailers. The Variety article is about the specific use of a song in a trailer, and is not primarily about The Hit House. Furthermore, the article was promotional (listing the music collections that Hit House offers for sale). NawlinWiki (talk) 20:10, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Being a vendor in and of itself doesn't, you're right, but creating music that goes on to propel the advertising of those movies in trailers (which many publications, such as "Vulture", "The Atlantic", "The Huffington Post", and many others have recently written about being an art form in and of themselves) and commercials that reach and are enjoyed by hundreds of millions of people absolutely signifies notability. And, I'm sorry, but to argue that music serves a similar purpose in people's lives to catering or electricity supply on a film set is, I feel, a quite faulty assertion. You might remember a great meal from the catering table for a few days or even weeks, and lighting can briefly affect your emotional state, but people remember a good song (even a piece of trailer or advertising music, which has attracted a following throughout the world) forever. Also, The Variety article is about a specific song that made it into a trailer because of the work done on it by The Hit House, and the Trailermusic site is, yes, an independently curated list of major movies containing music created by The Hit House. Furthermore, the collections listed are not in fact for sale to the public, so therefore that cannot constitute being promotional by your reasoning. A simple web search or iTunes search will show you that The Hit House has a few select things for sale, but not anything listen on the site. And, finally, there are several other similar pages on Wikipedia, including this one for Immediate Music https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immediate_Music. It is, of course, slightly more fleshed out, but is the exact same concept and type of information. So, overall, I understand how you would have had those initial concerns, but I believe that they are ultimately unfounded and I would appreciate it if you'd please let the page be. RE: Speedy deletion of page "Identix Incorporated"[edit]

Hello. Could you please identify exactly what it is about the Identix Incorporated page that justifies a speedy deletion? There is no doubt in my mind that Identix Incorporated is absolutely a piece of history and needs to be added to Wikipedia. It is not only a precursor to L-1 Identity Solutions (a page already long established), but it was a leader in the biometric identification industry. It was a publicly traded company for over 17 years. There are plenty of reliable references to support the addition of the Identix Incoporated page to the Wikipedia site. If you have any specific issues that I can address, I would be more than happy to make edits to the context. But by completely deleting the page, you are single-handedly repressing a very important part of history. Identixfan6 (talk) 12:50, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The entire thing was written in a promotional, laudatory tone ("Today, Identix products are used around the world..." etc.). See WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:06, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you. Although it's true (they are used around the world), I will edit appropriately. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Identixfan6 (talkcontribs) 20:13, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Could you please re-open the Identix Incorporated page so I could try posting some more appropriate content? Right now it only redirects to L-1 Identity Solutions page. Thank you. Identixfan6 (talk) 23:58, 13 August 2015 (UTC)Identixfan6 (talk) 16:57, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nawlin. I was trying to create the AFLG Investments Private equity page, but it kept getting deleted because there wasn't a reference to back up it's importance. There was a news article that talked about our company and our success so far. http://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/blog/morning-edition/2015/04/quiet-private-equity-firm-expects-brazilian.html. If I include this would that be suffice to keep the page from being taken down? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthony.russian (talkcontribs) 17:09, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • First, that sort of local business-journal coverage doesn't make a company notable per our standards, see WP:CORP and WP:V. Second, you appear to be writing an article about your own company, which is discouraged, see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:32, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Nawlin. I'm attempting to create a TimeLine Video wikipedia page, but it was speedy deleted due to the fact that the page "did not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant." I have to strongly disagree, and believe that the page met all of the WP:N guidelines. Broadcast/Digital media is recognized as an art form, and I believe TimeLine Video's extensive list of awards from recognized authorities in the industry meets the criteria for notability. Despite being a newer art form, we still recognize and celebrate award winning advertisements from years passed (think the famous Coca-Cola Hilltop ad from 1971) meaning it is likely that TimeLine Video's notability is not temporary. Transatlanick (talk) 19:01, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Transatlanick[reply]

  • There were only two sources listed for the awards, and one of them expressly stated that they were awards for agencies with limited books of business. I don't see that these are notable awards for purposes of WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:52, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • If it makes the page stronger, i'll go through and reference every single award. Many of them are significant achievements. When I recreate the page, if you still believe it doesn't meet the criteria, I'd appreciate it if you'd nominate it for deletion rather than speedy delete, as I believe there should at least be a discussion that takes place over the issue. With much appreciation for your commitment to improve and moderate the Wikipedia project, I hope you consider this. Transatlanick (talk) 21:47, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Transatlanick[reply]

Akuniyo[edit]

Akuniyo seems to have been making some odd edits lately. I notice you've reverted a few. Their behaviour seems to be similar to Stevertigo, who was blocked indefinitely following this ANI discussion. Of particular note are their edits to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents/Stevertigo and Wikipedia:Ratings and rankings system. This looks quite like a sock to me, but I'm unsure whether an ANI post or SPI investigation is most appropriate, and am slightly uncomfortable doing either without hard evidence. Since you've noticed at least some of this person's behaviour, I'm wondering whether you can give me any advice. Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 20:01, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Balancing Act TV Show - Speedy Deletion[edit]

Hi Nawlin. I just (and I mean JUST) posted a page titled, The Balancing Act TV Show. You noted the use of the word "proud" in the description of their award acquisitions, and I was hoping I would be able to repost once it has been removed. Please advise at User talk:B.Star1516. Thank you!

B.Star1516 (talk) 21:11, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's not just the one word. "The entertaining yet informative segments"... "Danielle's vast experience".... and then there's the peppy list of show segments. The whole thing needs to be pared down and written from a neutral point of view. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:13, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bam Barcena Page[edit]

Hi Nawlin,

The page for Bam Barcena that I was editing was deleted for not having enough secondary sources. I was in the process of finding more references for the wiki page and was wondering if there was a way to have the page back up again? If not, is there any way to retrieve the information? Thanks!

Catchword branding page deletion[edit]

hey there!

I was recently editing the Wikipedia page for catchword branding. I noticed that a few days ago you deleted the page, citing the A7 rule, which is meant to prevent organizations that are not notable from having pages about them. Catchword is a very notable naming agency with offices in Oakland and NYC. You can check out their website at catchwordbranding.com. Was the page deleted because of the edits I made? If so, is it possible to revert the article to a previous version? Sorry if I made a mistake. I'm new to Wikipedia and I was just trying to make their page more up to date. Jrendleman (talk) 01:35, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The sources cited in the article were about branding in general, and quoted or mentioned Catchword, but were not *about* Catchword. That's not the sort of sourcing needed to show notability. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:21, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proper warning for AIV[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki. You were the last admin to delete a repeatedly created WP:AUTOBIO called K-AL (and a copy K-AL BEATS), created by Variouskal. I took it to AIV but it was declined for insufficient or improper warnings. I thought all the speedy notices, {{uw-autobiography}} and my own custom warning were enough, but apparently I was wrong. Does one always have to follow the level 1-4 warning progression before AIV admins will take action? I can just see this user not stopping, and recreating this article again. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 22:36, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Drm. While I don't think the 1-4 progression must always be strictly followed, this user has been given no warning that he might be blocked if he continues. Asking him to stop, as you did, is the equivalent of a level 2 warning. If the user reposts, feel free to give a level 3 or 4 warning (subst:uw-create3 or 4), and to let me know that you did. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 23:43, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But I really still don't understand what's wrong with that. How you can consider not relevant a professional like me? I don't wanna be rude but just understand cause I can see ridiculous pages with no sources and missing links like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niccolò_Ferrari but I can't be honest with you writing a information article about my person. G6 page deletions/restoration[edit]

Hey, just curious what is accomplished by page deletions and immediate restorations such as you did at Masta Killa yesterday. The edit summary says ‎"G6: Housekeeping and routine (non-controversial) cleanup", but the G6 page doesn't really give a lot of detail, and doesn't address any situations where the page is then restored immediately. • Only the last two sources you cited are independent of the company (well, other than the one that merely shows where their office is), and they discuss EHS software in general, not StarTex. The Basement Effect (Band)[edit]

Apologies I am a new author here and originally added a shell page about the band The Basement Effect. The band have references in local newspapers such as the Liverpool Echo and have appeared on Radio Merseyside in an interview, so I presume once I add in these citations this would be enough information to make the page "noteworthy"?

I have since started to re-create the article in my sandbox area with some citations (work in progress) before I re-submit the page, so do I just re-submit this again or do I need you to release the original deleted page?

  • It would be great if you would let me know when you think the page is ready, so I can look at it. I will caution you that mentions in local papers and placements in local "battles of the bands" don't generally make a band notable per WP:MUSIC. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:33, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • What about radio interviews and mentions on the BBC website for example the following? https://soundcloud.com/llhanfield/bbcradio (copy of the radio interview) Does that not satisfy the point of "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself."? Invitation to subscribe to the edit filter mailing list[edit]

Hi, as a user in the edit filter manager user group we wanted to let you know about the new wikipedia-en-editfilters mailing list. As part of our recent efforts to improve the use of edit filters on the English Wikipedia it has been established as a venue for internal discussion by edit filter managers regarding private filters (those only viewable by administrators and edit filter managers) and also as a means by which non-admins can ask questions about hidden filters that wouldn't be appropriate to discuss on-wiki. As an edit filter manager we encourage you to subscribe; the more users we have in the mailing list the more useful it will be to the community. If you subscribe we will send a short email to you through Wikipedia to confirm your subscription, but let us know if you'd prefer another method of verification. I'd also like to take the opportunity to invite you to contribute to the proposed guideline for edit filter use at WP:Edit filter/Draft and the associated talk page. Thank you! Sam Walton (talk) and MusikAnimal talk 18:22, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just wondering why this article was protected. Sock puppetry hasn't been an issue, and the article only has a handful of edits in the past five years. (Its most prominent editor is me, hence my concern - was someone complaining about edits I made years ago?) Chubbles (talk) 19:42, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-Protection[edit]

Thanks for semi-protecting my userpage - but I'm a bit curious why? AFAICT the only other editor to edit it was a new one who didn't know how to find my talk page instead. GoldenRing (talk) 03:17, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lot7000[edit]

You blocked Lot7000 (talk · contribs), understandably, as yet another Paul Easter sock; but unless you object strongly, I would like to unblock.

Unlike all the others, he didn't just create another article, but arrived at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/SEFPRODUCTIONS saying that he was not Easter and hoped to negotiate a way forward. I have been conducting a dialogue with him there and on his talk page, first telling him to prepare a draft and then, since the edit filters make that difficult, to start by assembling any references he can find to show notability.

I have no idea whether this is actually someone new, or just Easter or one of his previous stable of meatpuppets, but I would like to AGF in the hope that this might, just possibly, be a way to end the endless procession of socks. I note that there have (so far) been no more today, compared to ten or more over the previous two days.

What I plan is to let him assemble his sources, then (I expect) explain to him why they do not show notability to the standard of WP:CREATIVE, but maybe offer to let another draft be presented and passed through AfD to get a definitive answer.

If he goes back to behaving like all the other socks, obviously we re-block. JohnCD (talk) 16:27, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • He's lying. He is obviously Paul Easter (down to the misspellings and the complaints about someone who once implied that he was mentally ill), and he has done this same shtick before. But to give him the chance you're offering, I'll unblock his talk page. You might ask him if he has any interest in contributing anything to Wikipedia other than articles about Paul Easter and his homemade films. If he doesn't, their nonnotability is well-established and I see no point in allowing him to make an argument that's been repeatedly rejected. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:30, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Since this user has actually stopped to talk to another editor at this point, and might be receptive to ideas about notability and how Wikipedia measures it, perhaps you could leave them to it, instead of stepping in to challenge him about how he's lying and how many friends he has? He's clearly gone on the defensive about your comment and ignored John's, on his talk page. This is only taking a small corner of a user talk page, and we'd all rather it was this than another raft of "okay maybe I'll try spelling my name backwards" sockpuppets where the only discussion is in shortlived edit war edit summaries. --McGeddon (talk) 21:55, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly because Lot7000 was blocked with no block message or guidance on what to do next? (I'm not sure what a blocked user sees when they try to edit, but there was nothing on the user talk page.) I don't see any great harm in letting this slide for a few days while we see whether he's amenable to discussing notability, and what points he has to make. He's only editing talk pages, and nobody reading them is under any illusion about what's happening. It'd be nice if he requested a formal unblock at User:Paul Easter and did this by the book, but a temporary sock sitting down to talk to us is still miles better than the heavy article-creation socking he usually goes in for. It'd be a shame if the by-the-book "now log out of this account and use the previous one if you can remember the password for it" blocking frustrated him back into straight vandalism because it was easier. --McGeddon (talk) 16:13, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Attack usernames[edit]

Hey Nawlin, could I ask a favour? When you come across attack usernames (an all-too-common occurrence in our line of admin work), could you report them to the oversight team? We can remove all trace of them (including from things like SPecial:ListUsers). It's only a big deal for the really nasty ones, but we have some latitude with the less nasty ones because there's no other way of removing them from the automatically generated lists. You blocked one earlier tonight that I've since suppressed. You probably know the one I mean, but if you're confused just drop me an email. Hello there. I created an account with name 83M and the user seems to dislike you. I'm saying this because, this user sent two requests to the interface (no, their IP is not blocked). One for the username 'NawinWikiSucks' (yes, no 'l' in Nawlin) which was declined per UPol and the second for the username 83M, which I had to create not seeing any problems in the log. I just wanted to notify you on the creation. You may want to closely follow their contributions and open an SPI if you can relate them to any previous block of yours. "Persistent sock puppetry"[edit]

I'm puzzled why you're protecting articles against socks for a week when they haven't any visible edits for months. As a guess, there were lots of socked edits that have now been wiped beyond even revdel. Is this a new policy? Seems quite extreme for minor vandalism. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:21, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • These are all edits by socks of User:Migosyrn. If those pages aren't protected, he returns to them again and again. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:23, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So we revert and ignore, per usual. We have worse socks than that (Europefan) and I've never seen this degree of removal. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:55, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
How do you feel about protection when the vandal has returned to the same article repeatedly? NawlinWiki (talk) 17:06, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand the protection, I'm just surprised to see the edits themselves removed (What is this even called?) as more than RevDel. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:22, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Rezwan Mashid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Why has the page Hollinwood fc been delete?[edit]

I clearly stated that it is an information page about a Semi-Professional football team based in Greater Manchester which is in the Manchester Football league. Previously one of your users said that the team has to be on a good level of professionality, yet it is on the same level as Chadderton FC and yet they have a Wikipedia page. I class this as a discrimination against Hollinwood FC and clearly your speedy deleters have been ignorant and clearly haven't read my message before they decided to delete my hard work and effort I put in to create the page. Go and delete other pages such as Chadderton FC's if your going to delete my page. Siddiqueahmed96 Siddiqueahmed96 (talk) 03:03, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just in case, you decide to restore, I'd recommend checking against this pitchero site, which appears to have identical text and (AFAICT) isn't CC-BY-SA compatible. Yunshui  11:58, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yunshui for your information this pitchero site that website is Hollinwood FC's official website and authorisation was given to use that text to enter it into the history section on the Wikipedia page. I can guarantee nothing else was copied and it was original work. Also it was referenced on the Wikipedia page that the website was used so you can't penalise the Wikipedia page on Hollinwood FC for that. the Wikipedia page was created to help people who are interested to know and understand who Hollinwood are. And like I have stated before it is a semi professional football team, and it is on the same level as Chadderton FC, who also have a Wikipedia page. So you should go around and delete other semi professional football teams who are on Wikipedia also otherwise that is very unfair. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siddiqueahmed96 (talkcontribs) 18:56, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HERO (fashion magazine) improperly deleted?[edit]

Hi there. You deleted HERO (fashion magazine) citing A7. The guide for A7 states: "This criterion applies only to articles about web content and to articles about people, organizations, and individual animals themselves, not to articles about their books, albums, software, or other creative works." HERO (fashion magazine) is a creative work. Therefore I believe it has been improperly deleted, can it please be reinstated? Many thanks.

Wiki edit 34957130 (talk) 19:08, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, maybe, but I would say, based on the content of Hero and Heroine, that both were appropriately deleted as advertising as well. I note that all of your edits have related to those two magazines. Do you have a conflict of interest? NawlinWiki (talk) 19:11, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I don't believe so, I am just a fan of the publications. Do you think HERO (fashion magazine) can be re-instated please? I put a lot of work into it :( They feature lots of my favourite actors. Wiki edit 34957130 (talk) 19:20, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) You did not put any work into providing even so much as one single solitary source for the article, outside of the subject's own websites. If nobody has written about the publication, if there are no sources describing it, then by definition it is too obscure to have an article about it in a global encyclopedia. If there are such sources, then start a fresh new draft at Draft:Hero (magazine), providing proper sources, and skip the namedropping and the non-encyclopedic lists of who was on each cover. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:54, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Point noted, and thanks for your advice, but it would be really generous if the page could be re-instated so you can at least give me a chance to work on the points you mention. I know for pro users like you guys, entering the code and references are second nature but it took me a long time to try and format it all properly. I am all for a well referenced, properly formatted article, but surely you can imagine how disheartening it is for a novice user to have their page deleted, citing a reason (A7) that doesn't apply to it, and then say 'tough luck, start again', when I am showing a willigness to try and do this properly. It literally took me days and days. Honestly. Wiki edit 34957130 (talk) 20:08, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Do I now have to move it from here back to where it was, or request this, and what happens to the images I had uploaded? Wiki edit 34957130 (talk) 20:22, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'll undelete the images. Please let me know when you've revised the articles to add reliable independent sources that show that these publications are notable, and I'll take a look. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:24, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About the article Skipp Williamson[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki

Thank you for your quick review of the article. I could not have expected such a quick result. However, I would have appreciated that you explained to me first before taking such a drastic decision. If you look very closely at the references, you will notice that 2 major Australian newspaper have been appropriately used as references about the subject. In addition, I did not think that it was necessary to support the content with a ton of references to make my point. Therefore, I will very much appreciate that you give me (the newbie) a second chance by speedily restoring the article and requiring that I provide additional sources. As Jimmy Wales himself once said: "Do not bite the newbies". Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best regards. Donaldeval (talk) 19:24, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The AFR articles are subscriber-only, so not very verifiable here. But in general, all the article says is that she runs her own consulting company and has been included on a list of 100 successful businesspeople. That doesn't seem to satisfy WP:BIO. Regardless, I'll put the content in your userspace at User:Donaldeval/Skipp Williamson. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:04, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

VJ Books[edit]

Trying to figure out why this page was labelled for "Speedy Deletion"

I am a book collector and they are a group that has some great resources and has published unique titles by Clive Cussler ( a HUGE name in fiction ). Given that Abebooks, Alibris, and Biblio.com, all have pages I don't understand why an online seller and notable publisher wouldn't be listed.

I've worked for 2 weeks finding information and sources for what was posted. I would love some clarity, as this was not meant to be an advertisement any more that the above are.

Neolights0 (talk) 21:22, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The whole tone was promotional: "Hutchinson and Lenneville continued with the bold vision to offer signed first edition books" and the like. Also, even if that is fixed, the article did not cite independent sources (see WP:V) to show that the website is notable per our standards, see WP:WEB. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:25, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd Like to do some editing on the tone, to make it less promotion if that is possible. This is my first real article, i've made minor edits previously.

Also, Alan Jacobson is a US Best Seller who openly states on his website that VJ is the source for his autographed hardcover books, and they are the only source to my knowledge.

I can also work to find additional sources. Neolights0 (talk) 21:36, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • If Mr. Jacobson is doing business with VJ Books, he's not an *independent* source. Please take a look at WP:V and WP:RS. In the meantime, I've moved the deleted article to your userspace at User:Neolights0/VJ Books. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:39, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am not sure that the Stevie Awards (given that you have to pay to be considered for them) or the Deloitte Fastest 500 count as items that would make this company notable per WP:CORP. There is enough there to avoid speedy deletion, but maybe not enough to avoid a deletion discussion at WP:AFD. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:11, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi NawlinWiki,

Thanks for taking the time to answer with details. As I am not familiar with WP jargon, should I interpret your suggestion as that there is some progress compare to previous versions? If this is the case, I would very much appreciate that you consider recreating this page and let see what happened. I am really optimistic about this because I have seen scores of companies in the same niche but with lesser status, live on Wikipedia. Thank you for your understanding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elbuqui06 (talkcontribs) 19:34, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

PickUpCat[edit]

I found the article about PickUpCat because I was searching for information about a fraud criminal case involving that company after having come accross new coverage spanning many years but none giving a complete picture of the case. That proves it has some interest. The article I found was like an advertisement for the company. I decided to edit the article, and started by editing the style so it did should not be an advertisement. While I was doing that, you deleted the article. I resumed my work, and recreated the article, adding facts about the fraud and the criminal case, and references to reliable third-party sources. It seems you deleted it again. I think that with the new info and sources added it should not be hastily deleted like that: it should be discussed. There is more to add to this case in fact. Perhaps should the article be called "The Norwegian PickUpCat Fraud Scandal" instead of just PickUpCat but it should not be deleted.--Nefer1010 (talk) 21:58, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • On reflection, you're right. I've restored the article. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 23:58, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Monday Records[edit]

Hi Nawlin. Please can you undo the delete of the page for Monday records, or advise me what I need to do to get this approved. Pikachunes (featured on wikipedia), is a serious upcoming NZ electronic music artist. Many external sources confirm Pikachunes as a notably significant act (which is why he is on Wikipedia I suppose). Monday records have recently signed Pikachunes, so I think that makes Monday Records notable by association. Regardless of the Pikachines connection, I also think that an independent record label signing exciting new acts such as this is very notable. I believe (as with most music artist enteries) it is entirley appropriate to include a wiki page on this up coming independent record label, as they sign more and more culturally significant acts such as Pikachunes. Wikipedia is a common source of reference for the music industry, and it is very common place for relevant record labels to be featured along with artists. As well as links to the Monday Records site, I also linked to 3rd party music news blogs who announced the new signing, as they also felt it newsworthy and culturally significant. Please can you restore the article, or let me know what more I can do. Thank you for your time. All the best. Stan.charles84 (talk) 00:17, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The notability of Pikachunes doesn't confer notability on his label or other companies he does business with, see WP:NOTINHERITED. You need to find reliable, independent sources that establish Monday's notability per WP:CORP. Note that blogs aren't considered reliable sources, see WP:RS. Also, see WP:UPANDCOMING. 1800BobSaget[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki Can you please undo the edit you just made on the Paper Magazine page by deleting the photo I uploaded. The changed the photo because it is the most iconic cover that Paper Magazine has ever had. The Kim Kardashian "Break the Internet" cover marks a change in Paper Magazine's content when people really started to pay attention to them and they were able to make a name for themselves. It is very well-known and anyone researching Paper Mag would recognise it immediately. The photo that is there right now is kind of irrelevant. I would really appreciate it if you could not change the photo again if I put the photo of Kim Kardashian up. 1800BobSaget (talk) 18:10, 25 September 2015 (UTC)1800BobSaget[reply]

Dear NawlinWiki, can I make the article i made satisfies your conditions, an rewrite it in this wikipedia.

  • You said, "I collected some Ideas from different references. put them in new order, more explanation." This is what we call synthesis, which is part of the original research which we don't post here on Wikipedia. So thanks for your efforts, but please post your work on your own website. Brotherly Love TV Show 2015[edit]

I would like to recreate this show's article. I understand what you posted on the the talk page. But this is a online show, a web-series, so some information and awards won't be found. Also, there is reliable evidence on YouTube (YouTube/moviecubeinc) of the show, as well as IDMb.com. I did not put references, but I have many certifiably sources I will add.

Thank you for the warning and advice for the page, I will correct these problems.

  • Youtube and IMDB are not what we consider reliable independent sources, because they can be created/edited by anyone, including the creator of the web show in question. Please look at WP:RS for guidance on what we consider to be reliable sources. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:36, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

CouponDunia[edit]

The reason for deletion of coupondunia's page seems to be "no credible sources". Theres a link for a linkedin power profile of the founder, and plenty of other mentions of it on the web. Could you maybe give an idea of what else you're expecting? The version you deleted didnt seem to be deserving of a deletion.

Sginnit (talk) 21:31, 28 September 2015 (UTC)sginnit[reply]

I have had a look at WP:RS. Please do have a look at the linkedin link in the deleted wiki. It wasnt a user profile link. It's a list of influencers in the e-commerce space that is curated by the linkedin team. Do you not consider this an independent source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sginnit (talkcontribs) 21:40, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's not an article, it's just a group of pictures of people whom someone at LinkedIn consider "powerful". And it's not a list of companies (like CouponDunia), it's a list of people. I still don't see that you've shown that CD is notable per our standards, WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:48, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A new user with lack of editing experience created the page. An Ip is tagging it for speedy delete. Do something.--Aamir Humshakal (talk) 02:41, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I asked to save that page as per these sources:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3200816/Now-S-wild-wedding-Couple-tie-knot-paradise-island-sharks-stingrays-swimsuit-reception.html

http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/naked-and-afraid/bios/forrest-galante/

The Ip tagged it for speedy deletion and you deleted it?

The sources were provided by the page creator. The page required maintenance and formatting tags not getting deleted--Aamir Humshakal (talk) 02:58, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Of course, NawlinWiki, I requested deletion based on the blatantly promotional content, at least some of which closely paraphrased the subject's website. Spam, not notability, was the concern specific to the speedy request; in ten years I've never received quite this message for applying a valid template [5]. Thanks, 2601:188:0:ABE6:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:03, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
With so much experience, he was accusing me of creating that page. I removed the deletion tag, but that warning "Page you have created" https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Aamir_Humshakal&diff=683248997&oldid=683177429 , when the page was created by someone else. Aamir Humshakal (talk) 03:40, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The IP is correct that the article was deleted as promotional. It was filled with puffy language like "his daring animal exploits and incredible adventure excursions", and referred to him by his first name throughout. Please see WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. Amelia Records[edit]

Hi, why was Amelia Records wiki page deleted. It is not a 'garageband' or a 'startup' nor was the page a page of self interest. It was a factual page that didn't advertise anything. 86.179.26.45 (talk) 19:27, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The page did not indicate how this company was notable per our standards, see WP:MUSIC and WP:CORP, and did not cite any independent sources, see WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:00, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Does this article help verifiability? - http://thethinair.net/2015/09/album-premiere-best-boy-grip-best-boy-grip/

  • That's an article about Best Boy Grip, that merely mentions his label. Even if BBG was notable, which I'm not sure of, notability doesn't transfer, see WP:NOTINHERITED. You need a source that discusses Amelia itself and demonstrates *Amelia's* notability. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:00, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've been watching pages for Young Mayor's - who are an integrated part of local British politics.[edit]

I believe that the pages that were created were of people of notability as they are well known in the BYC, British Youth Council and beyond in their areas and communities. Can you help as this is frustrating! Ty

Kiralewis (talk) 20:35, 30 September 2015 (UTC) (is this what you wanted aha)[reply]

  • This is similar to our policies for youth athletes and leaders of high school and college-level organizations -- they're not viewed as notable here by virtue of holding those offices, or for having local news stories written about their holding those offices. See generally WP:BIO. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:41, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Evlekis?[edit]

Hi NW, I just blocked D3L1VER 4ND 5TAND (talk · contribs · count) and Basil Bazzle (talk · contribs · count) for socking. They are a a technical match for Evlekis. What do you think?--Bbb23 (talk) 22:04, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree, it fits. His latest shtick seems to be copying webpages from small companies, and then arguing when they are tagged for deletion. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:53, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lemi Clothing ltd speedy deletion[edit]

HI NawlinWiki,

I followed the same structure as King Apparel and JD sports when creating my article on Lemi Clothing ltd. Can you please detail what exactly was wrong with my article and what I need to do have my article accepted on Wikipedia?

The Juhu Beach Project[edit]

Hi Nawlin,

I have just noticed that the page The Juhu Beach Project has been deleted. The page was created without any advertisement and was cited with references. Can you please remove the deleting tag, and let me know what should I need to edit to make that page active?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Nawlin,

It is not promotion, it is about creating awareness of public projects that can be undertaken to improve and affect millions of lives. There are projects of similar nature that have been allowed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SkyCycle_(proposed_transport_project)

I am willing to reword the article if you can un delete it.

Thank you Neha S Gupta
