This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Pieter Melvill van Carnbee (1816-1856), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.1911encyclopedia.org/Pieter,_Baron_Melvill_Van_Carnbee.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) VWBot (talk) 11:31, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Pieter Melvill van Carnbee (1816-1856) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The only source is to an open wiki [1] Also suspect copy violation

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mark nutley (talk) 12:30, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider become a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedia Saves Public Art; there's a growing group of people using it. The project could certainly use your expertise! Fair use rationale for File:HansGeering.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:HansGeering.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:04, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Terminology categories[edit]

Hi Neddy,

I reverted one of your category changes (to Tide Mills) because it appeared to lead nowhere, but I see now that you're trying to create a parallel taxonomy for terminology. Can I ask why? It's quite possible to add extra categories to the article if you want but to have a terminology category as a subcategory of a real-life category doesn't make much sense. What are you trying to achieve? Chris55 (talk) 20:43, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My plan was have the 'real-life' category as you put it as one for individual watermills' pages, then the terminology one for terms Neddyseagoon - talk 10:27, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's no reason you couldn't have both, if there's some reason for it, but xx terminology can't be subcategory of xx. The two are different sorts of things. But actually I still can't see the value of the terminology idea. Can you explain? Chris55 (talk) 22:25, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:SecretRapture.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SecretRapture.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:07, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

London Wikimedia Fundraiser[edit]

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:36, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:KhalilBey2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Weakly cited article that doesn't seem to get over the notability issue.

Villa Giulia[edit]

I asked Deb to userfy the "article", which she put in the userspace of one of the protesting admins., to which I've advised on undeleting the original, and now I've put it in your space. I quote "article" because the entire content is ten words. I think it's unquestionable that deletion is worthy in this situation (edit: it's not worthy as an article as is, but still a good article to create), and I expect it to start snowing there soon. However, I did take a look at the Italian Wikipedia version (here is a translation). There is content there that, if we spend some time, might give enough for a full article. I will blockquote the text from that article as Google translates it. I'll ignore the Table of Contents and will merely bold section headers as there are no subsections; the image I'll get to later. I also am NOT endorsing to copy this word for word into the English version, but to use this as a guideline and try to source the content per this Wiki's standards for inclusion.

Villa Giulia is a garden of public Palermo , situated on the border of the district Kalsa , including via Lincoln and the Foro Italico , and adjacent to botanical garden city.

History

Made on the initiative of Pretoria Grua between 1777 and 1778 , was named Giulia d'Avalos wife of the viceroy Marcantonio Colonna, Prince of Stigliano.

The design of the villa was designed by Nicholas Palma drew to a public park with a perimeter perfectly square, divided in turn into four squares divided by their diagonals, the central space, a circular shape is adorned by four esedre designed by Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda in Pompeian style.

The garden
The monumental entrance overlooking the Foro Italico is neoclassical, columns, Doric evidence of good taste already romantic end of the eighteenth century, this entrance is not used for access to the garden and remains constantly closed. The other entrance, located on Lincoln street, is less developed and is regularly used for access to the garden.
At the heart of the villa is the clock which is a dodecahedron dodecahedron marble where each face is a sundial, designed by the mathematician Lorenzo Federici. The sculpture is at the center of a circular fountain and is supported by a statue of a young man crouching. Around the fountain is a righiera decorated with metal sculptures.
Inside the garden there are many marble sculptures, of which the most significant is that of the Genius of Palermo of Ignatius Marabitti built in 1778.

The next section, Images, is omitted from this version. Following that are eight other Italian Wiki pages listed as References (which BTW is not the way to do references, that should really be a "See also" if nothing else). The translated English titles are:

  • Botanical Garden
  • Fontana del Genio at Villa Giulia
  • Genius of Palermo
  • via Lincoln
  • Foro Italico
  • Monuments of Palermo
  • Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda
  • Nicholas Palma

Ignore the section after that, "Other Projects", for now. Finally is an external link, "On the restoration of Villa Giulia". This is also in Italian, but I am providing a link to an English translation. Large piece to get information from.

We can use these and write a good article, maybe we can find other sources too! Please edit in your userspace, and get back to me on my page if you have any questions! CycloneGU (talk) 17:57, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Pembroke House, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

there is only one article with this name so it seems counter-intuitive to have "Pembroke House" as a redirect

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Cut (theatre), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.askbiography.com/bio/Halesworth.html.

Orphaned non-free image File:ReineElizabeth.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ReineElizabeth.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:24, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Theatre project and The Silver Tassie[edit]

Hello. I found you when I cleaned up The Silver Tassie article just now. I noticed that you list the Theatre project as one to which you belong, but you hadn't added your name to the project's list, so I just did - feel free to remove if you don't want to appear there. I missed you out on the recent invite round-robin for the new collaboration drive, so I've put the notice above.

Also, maybe you know this by now, but just in case, if an article is the main subject (as O'Casey's play is), you can move the lesser-known article to a disambiguated title (as you did for The Silver Tassie (opera)) and then create the article on the main subject at that namespace, rather than needing to disambiguate with (play). A hatnote would then point anyone looking for the opera to that article. No need for a disambiguation page - only needed if it's not clear which is the most common use.

Hope that helps. And welcome to the project!  • DP •  {huh?} 17:48, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How to cook a Bach cantata[edit]

Please, first go to the List of Bach cantatas (at the bottom of the template), look for the function, in the case of BWV 63 Christmas, copy the readings, see if another cantata exists, copy much from there, at least the standard lead and External links which supply almost everything a truly interested reader will want to know. - After creating the article, create a redirect for the BWV #, please. The article Mark Dymond has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. A barnstar for you![edit]

For your fine efforts to get missing content onto wikipedia including old paintings. Keep up the great work, this is exactly what wikipedia needs. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:21, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One note though, can you add the reference after the full stop rather than before it? Cheers/♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:21, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Third Star has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no evidence of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:40, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled right[edit]

Hi, I'm a user who patrols Special:NewPages and noticed you've been creating a lot of articles. I've marked most of the pages you created today as patrolled without taking further action. You might want to consider requesting autopatrolled rights for your account in order to lighten the workload on us new page patrollers. This is, of course, entirely voluntary, and granting you the rights is subject to administrator discretion. Cheers! —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:44, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for creating those interesting articles. When you create beyond-stub articles with inline references, like Papal conclave, 1559, please consider nominating your work for front page exposure at T:TDYK. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:44, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Paintings date categories[edit]

Why you are changing the date categories? Those paintings have no precise date, so it's better to leave the decade category. '''Attilios''' (talk) 16:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Inline references[edit]

Hello, I've been patrolling new pages, and I noticed that you have recently created some articles that contain a list of sources, but do not have inline citations (or have very few of them). I've tagged two, but since you seem to clearly know what you're doing, I'm wondering whether there's something I'm missing here—maybe that inline references are not always preferred when articles do not describe multiple aspects of the subject, for example. I would appreciate it if you could tell me your reasons. Thanks. wctaiwan (talk) 09:42, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When you create beyond-the-stub articles with inline cites like German campaign (Napoleonic Wars), why not add them to T:TDYK for a front page exposure? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 16:43, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
