August 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tamil language has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://ethirneechal.blogspot.com/2010/06/learn-tamil-online.html. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 22:11, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Chandrawati, Neechalkaran!

Wikipedia editor Kudpung just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

PLease include the country in this article otherwise nobody knows what it's about. Wikipedia is read worldwide by people who may not know where Pondicherry is. (I don't).

A tag has been placed on Kerala Cardamom Processing and Marketing Company Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Need help?[edit]

Thanks for giving the go ahead to delete the article since it violates copyright. I went ahead and deleted it. If you want to write something all in your own words, that would be fine. I did a Google search and found some sites that may be good sources for an article, like the India Times. Basically, Every article needs citations from reliable sources (e.g. magazines, news sites, books, newspapers) that talk about the subject. The sources need to be independent of the subject, so for example the company's or person's own website wouldn't work. Every fact in the article needs to be referenced to a reliable source: that's super important because it ensures that articles are verifiable and don't contain false information. Don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or need anything, I'm always glad to help. Peace, delldot ∇. 02:50, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Query[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your good work on en.WP.

Just a query about June 17 in India, and article I happened upon by accident. I do find this, conceptually, a bit strange. What is it about June 17 in each year, in India, that is thematically cohesive—in a way that suggests an article should be based on this?

Irrespective of this, please note that if writing such articles on a large scale with hundreds of separators, they need to be en dashes, not hyphens. You can see the source of the script I've used in the edit summary, so please let me know if you need help loading it onto your personal vector page. It's very easy to use. Tony (talk) 10:40, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tony1, It is a historical event collections on a particular date similar like year page 1947 in India and indian version of June 17. I think June 17 doesnot permit all national/state event occurs in a country, so here the indian verison can play a role. I know the page contents are insufficient but the Project is incomplete and being developed. Please feel free to suggest and correct me if any thing violates the Wiki rules.--Neechalkaran (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by StraussInTheHouse was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Please see WP:BLP1E. A tag has been placed on Template:List of corporations in Tamil Nadu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Ways to improve Gowri Kirubanandan[edit]

Hello, Neechalkaran,

Thank you for creating Gowri Kirubanandan.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

As written, the subject's notability largely rests on her having won a Sahitya Akademi prize. However, I see from reading Sahitya Akademi that these prizes have been criticized as selecting sub-par winners. Thus, the subject's claims to notability should be better supported by additional coverage in reliable sources (although the coverage in The Hindu is a good start).

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

@Rosguill:, Thanks for reviewing. Sahitya Akademi is the highest literature award giving by Indian government. I have added 2 more references. Can you advise if it is okay? -Neechalkaran (talk) 02:16, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I didn't realize it was so storied. Even if it's been hit with controversy, that would still make the award winner notable for our purposes. However, it would still be good if we could find coverage of the subject that isn't in the immediate context of her winning the award. signed, Rosguill talk 03:57, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see. It seems you already received your answer. Winning an award is not relevant; the relevant consideration is the amount and quality of reference material available. If you think you can write an acceptable draft, write one. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:11, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And for godsakes, this time you posted in my archive? Last time on a deleted article's talk page? If you have a message for someone, post on their user talk page. Not in an archive, not on a deleted article's talk page, on their user talk page. There is a reason that the archive has a large notice at the top which says "Do not edit the contents of this page." What that means, though I'm not sure why I'm explaining, is to not edit that page. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:14, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
