Hello

[edit]

I understand that you are a native speaker of Bengali. I would be most grateful if you could translate something for me in to English from Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign affairs please. I understand it is about Kosovo. [1] Regards Ijanderson (talk) 18:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(First Paragraph)
Today United States Ambassador to Bangladesh, James F. Moriarty met Dr. Dipu Moni, Minister of Foreign Affairs at Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, they discussed about affect of climate change on Bangladesh, International Conference on Climate Change in Tromso - Norway, Rohingya issue, Export of Manpower, Recognition of Kosovo, Terrorism and Human Rights.
(I skipped next three paragraphs and starting 5th/last one)
...Later US Ambassador informed the press that they talked about Bangladesh, the United States and international issues. He told that he requested Foreign Minister to give recognition to Kosovo. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and United Arab Emirates has already provided their recognition to the independence of Kosovo.

- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 22:36, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, that is all I wanted to know. Regards Ijanderson (talk) 22:46, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hi, I don't think we have interacted before, but could you please look at this article Salah Choudhury, it is egregiously biased and I flagged it for violating Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. The reason I am asking is that although I have been editing for a while, I have usually steered clear of contentious subjects and could use some help if it turns into a POV battle as I don't have much experience in that araea. Jan Sharif Shah Sureswari ‎

[edit]

Hi Niaz, Good afternoon. Earlier decided not to join wiki for some obvious reason and not harmoneous with ongoing mistreatments with some pages. Emailed to our administrator Ragib my points. But notics on Jan Sharif Shah Sureswari compelled me to write. Some reference I attached but If more needed have to wait for other contributors. No harm to delete if doesn't meet the standard. Thanks you. Sincerely Mizan.(Mizan1947 (talk) 22:46, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mizan, I appreciate your effort at different articles and I do have respect on you and your edits. Recently I have tagged two articles for AfD that you created few months back. I nominated those two articles as per WP:N. Please do not take it personally. I always actively take part in AfD debate, sometime as a nominator or sometime as a survivor. Though an old list, but you would probably get a partial view of my AfD activity here: AfD Participation. I consider nomination of those two articles as a part of this activity. Regards, Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 00:04, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(wireless) Ad hoc networking ?

[edit]

The redirect should go to the parent concept P2P and not a sub-concept Wireless ad hoc network. Thanks. Ooskapenaar (talk) 07:39, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Ad hoc Network is a type of P2P network, but the reason why it is redirected to Wireless Ad Hoc Network lies somewhere else. In practice when people address any network as Ad hoc network they indicate two features, 1. a network established on the fly and 2. without having any infrastructure based backbone (optionally it may have one e.g. access point in IEEE 802.11). These features closely go with Wireless Ad hoc Networks. A search in IEEE Explorer with the key word 'Ad hoc Network'[2] also discloses what researchers mean by this term. Cheers. - Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 19:02, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Asperger Syndrome

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Asperger syndrome, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. DaiZengarSmite evil 22:55, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm very curious, Zengar, about why exactly did you put the COI note here. As far as I can see, Niaz has not really edited the article Asperger syndrome (at least, not in the last 2.5 months). Niaz's involvement in recent months seems to be limited to the talk page, and in none of his comments did he indicate he has the syndrome himself or is associated with research on the topic. Then, your tag above seems to be a frivolous one, and you should really be careful in tagging user talk pages with such frivolous COI tags. Unless, of course, you explain where the conflict of interest lies. --Ragib (talk) 23:26, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is nothing but an act of leaving spams on user talk pages. This user was blocked for two weeks for such activity. I have sent a message to Tedder who blocked this user earlier explaining him in detail. Following is my message:
Dear Tedder, recently I got involved in a merger discussion on Asperger syndrome article's talk page to oppose the merger. But I never edited that article. I only participated in the talk page discussion. Surprisingly, today I received a comment on my talk page from Zengar_Zombolt who identified my contribution(!) in that article as COI. I instantly checked his talk page and found that because of his abusive edit, he was blocked for 2 weeks. But soon after he was unblocked, he started doing the same activity again, at least on my talk page. I would appreciate if you have a look in this matter once again. Cheers.
Thanks Bhaia for your involvement in this issue. -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 00:17, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles 05:26, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
