Nigerian LGBT-related films[edit]

Hi Nihiltres! It's neptunekh! I found a movie called Rag_Tag_(film) and it should go under the category Nigerian LGBT-related films. Nigerian LGBT-related films is not an existing category. Can you make it so that it is? Thanks!Neptunekh2 (talk)

Disused sandbox[edit]

Hi Nihiltres. May I suggest {{db-g7}} on Template:Pp-vandalism/sandbox? --Bsherr (talk) 03:09, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I deleted it. Not really necessary, but I might as well… {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 05:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The documentation page put it in a category in which it didn't belong. I suggested deletion in lieu of alternatives for removing it from the category. Cheers. --Bsherr (talk) 05:20, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RationalPlan article request[edit]

Hi Nihiltres! I would like to create an article about RationalPlan and saw your discussion regarding the deletion. Can I write about it and if yes how should I proceed? Should I just edit it? Thank you! Dragmas (talk) 18:26, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind too much either way, but for the article to survive, you will need to reach an acceptable level of sourcing (I suggest at least 5 unique reliable sources as a solid base) and address any other concerns raised in the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RationalPlan. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 20:53, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:42, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template Help[edit]

Hello! I was looking through users who understand how to make templates, and I was wondering if you could create a template that combines navigational templates on short track speed skaters Olympic/World Champions when there is more than one on a page. An example of what I have in mind would be what's on the Dutch Wikipedia on nl:Bonnie Blair (bottom). You see how she has won multiple disciplines and the races are combined... If you look at Apolo Ohno you see how there are three templates... when they could be included into one template that looks nicer. If you know how to do that, I would greatly appreciate it! Lists of the templates being used are Category:Short track speed skating Olympic champions templates, Template:NavigationWorldChampionsShortTrackMen, Template:NavigationWorldChampionsShortTrackWomen. oncamera(t) 02:07, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit busy (but not too busy :) ), but I took a quick look at what the Dutch Wikipedia was using and it shouldn't be too hard to do a similar system. The thing is, to implement this sort of system right, you'd probably want to change the system for all Olympic athletes for standardization purposes, so this is something that should probably pass by the WikiProject Olympics talk page for input before I start playing around with table code. It's not strictly necessary, but for a change that will affect many templates, it's probably prudent. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 04:11, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adopt-a-user reminder[edit]

Hello, I have completed a general cleanup of the adopter information page for the adopt-a-user project, located here. During my cleanup, I have removed several inactive and retired users. In order to provide interested adoptees with an easy location to find adopters, it is essential that the page be up-to-date with the latest information possible. Thus:

  • If you are no longer interested in being an adopter, please remove yourself from the list.
  • If you are still interested, please check the list to see if any information needs to be updated or added - especially your availability. Thank you.
  • You are receiving this message because you are listed as an adopter here.

Overlap of topicons without images[edit]

Hi, I'm not entirely sure where/who to ask this, but I think it might involve Template:Pp-meta, and hence thought I'd ask you.

When images are disabled (in a browser), the protection and 'GA' stuff seems to overlap; example. I reported this on VPT some time ago, in more detail - so please see Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 78#Images disabled, the semi-prot notice overlaps the GA note.

Can you help?  Chzz  ►  23:04, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Small request for help[edit]

This may be a silly question, but I was wondering if you knew how to force a Content Box (assuming that's the right term) back into the top of a WikiProject page when a Tab Header template is used and makes the Content Box disappear. Case in point: WSPA Style Guide. Of course every page in WSPA does it, because we use the same Tab Header template on each page, but I specifically would like a Content Box added back into our Style Guide, since it's so extensive. Is this possible? Is it something I should do to the Tab Header template? Thanks ahead of time for your help! HstryQT (talk) 20:22, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I have an idea of what might be causing the problem, but I'm not quite sure just what you mean by a "content box". Can you give me a little bit more detail? Is it the grey outline around all the page content? A box with a message of some sort? Something else? I want to make sure I properly diagnose the problem before I try to solve it. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 03:03, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yep the Contents collapsible box that automatically shows up under the lead section, which displays all of the links to the headings. I'm sorry if there's a real name for it. I tried to find it, but couldn't. HstryQT (talk) 11:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, you mean the table of contents! That was very easy to fix: the tab header included the magic word __NOTOC__, which disables the table of contents, so it was simple to remove that magic word from the template to re-enable the table of contents on WSPA pages. If the table of contents causes problems elsewhere, just add the word back on the page where you have problems, and the table of contents will disappear on that page. You can also use __TOC__ to force the table of contents to appear at a particular place on the page, if desired. The problem should be fixed now. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 15:04, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, imagine a table of contents actually being called a table of contents! Figures. :) Thanks so much for your help! I came upon it today and was excited to finally have it back. Appreciate it; and appreciate your explanation of how to fix it in the future! HstryQT (talk) 17:30, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nihiltres. I went looking for an article on this candidate and found that you had deleted. I wonder if you would reconsider your decision as anyone following this congressional race might like to know more about the republican nominee (who an article I just read said is ahead by 17 points). Thanks for your consideration. WrenandStimpy (talk) 18:23, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmmm... I see now he is a North Carolina Senate candidate and not a candidate for Congress. Not sure on how notable that position or race is. WrenandStimpy (talk) 18:28, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An update from adopt a user[edit]

Hi there Nihiltres! You may be wondering, what have I done to sound the alarm this time? Nothing. I'm messaging you in regards to the adopt-a-user program, which currently has a backlog of users wishing to be adopted. This doesn't make much sense, as we have a considerable list of users offer adoption, so there shouldn't be any backlog. I've begun to eliminate this backlog myself through a matching program, but I need your help to make it work. Of course, adoptees and adopters don't have to go through there, but I believe it helps eliminate the backlog because someone is actively matching pairs.

On the list of adopters, I have modified the middle column to say "Interests." It's easier working with other users that have similar interests, so if it's not too much to ask, could you add your interests in the middle column? For example, if I was interested in hurricanes, computers, business, and ... reptiles? I would place those in the middle column. Counter-vandalism and the like can also be included (maintenance should be used as the general term). The more interests, the better, since adoptees can learn more about you and choose the one they feel most comfortable working with. The information about when you're most active and other stuff can go into the "Notes" section to the right.

Finally, I've gone around and asked adoptees (and will in the future) to fill in a short survey so adopters can take the initiative and contact users they feel comfortable working with. We all know that most adoptees just place the adopt me template on their user page and leave it - so it's up to us to approach them and offer adoption. So, please take a look at the survey, adopt those that fit your interests, and maybe watchlist it so you can see the interests of adoptees and adopt one that fits your interests in the future.

Once again, thank you for participating in the adopt-a-user program! If you wish to respond to this post, please message me on my talk page.

Seeking Adoption[edit]

I was wondering if you could adopt me, ask me any questions aswell. Thanks. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 21:23, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My basic policy on adoption is that if you point me in the direction you want to go, I'll help you get there. I'm not much into hovering over people's contribs, but if you come to me with a problem, I'm sure I can help resolve it. So sure, where do we start? :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 16:16, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fairly new to the concept of adoption, what is involved? Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 18:57, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's a fairly straightforward mentoring program. I can point you in the right direction if you're not sure what to do or how to do it. I can provide all sorts of advice, since I've been here over 5 years now, and you have a consistent contact for help. If you know what you want to do, I can explain how. If you're not sure what to do, I can provide suggestions. :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 03:07, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Seems fair enough, every now and again I would like you to look over my edit's though. But thats all, and I can come to you for help. Thanks Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 18:57, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Insatanity Wikipedia Page deletion[edit]

This page should have not been deleted, It was not a repost, it had new information that was asked to be added to sustain it being a page. This page should be allowed to be. It was deleted for improper reasons and encompasses abuse of power by administrators. Ruinsofman (talk) 04:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A deletion discussion decided that it wasn't notable. The rules are fairly clear, and they appear to have been obeyed as far as I've yet seen in this case, so throwing around spurious accusations like "abuse of power by administrators" won't help you. I don't mind either way whether the page exists or not, so long as I'm satisfied that it meets Wikipedia's criteria. I suggest that you try the usual channel, deletion review, because I've been very busy outside of Wikipedia lately. If you can show that the article can meet the criteria, and that you'll fix it as soon as the article is undeleted (a fairly good argument to use at deletion review), I might even be persuaded to undelete it out of process. What I'd like to see is some sort of verifiability for the article. Provide me with some reliable sources, and I'll do my best to help you out. If those sources don't exist, it's likely that the subject doesn't belong on Wikipedia. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 21:22, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Infoboxes[edit]

Hey I heard you were good at making infoboxes. I have a wikia site and I need some infobox templates for them and I have no idea how to make them. I've been searching for 2 hours already and all the places I've checked really confuse me. Please contact me on my userpage :D! EDIT: One infobox I need is Infobox_Monster. It needs name, level, damage, defense, speed, health, and energy. Could you make this infobox for me as an example and maybe I can use that to make the others?

Sorry, but I don't volunteer my time for Wikia sites unless I have a personal interest in the topic at hand. I suggest that you get an admin on the wiki to import Wikipedia's Template:Infobox, which is a meta-template that can be used to generate infobox templates. Look at the documentation there: you should be able to create a simple infobox with that easily. If you run into trouble, the most likely culprits will be either CSS issues or that you've added variables improperly. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 04:11, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fix the artwork infobox?[edit]

I'm not sure how to describe this the right way, but Template for artifacts should be merged with the one for artworks. It would be very helpful to have just one template that has all of the right info. Each has some of the right info, but they need to be put together. Here's a link to where I talk about it on the artwork page. --RichardMcCoy (talk) 03:59, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some help please[edit]

Hi there, Hope that the end of the year is winding down unstressfully for you! Here in between semesters we're tackling the name change from WSPA to WikiProject Public Art. Today I made up a new side info panel for our main page (still needs some tweaks, but it's coming along). However, I'm totally stumped as to why the Table of Contents has been pushed to the bottom and won't collapse. See here. I'm guessing it's some parameter in the code of the panel itself but I can't figure it out. Would you mind checking it for me? (I've tried what you showed me before with the TOC magic words and they won't take). I don't mind if the TOC just disappear or if they move to their normally correct spot. No preference; just want them not awkwardly at the bottom. The panel template is here. Thanks ahead of time! HstryQT (talk) 03:19, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I managed to find the error (a table wasn't closed) and fix it. :) {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|}} 03:58, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's total magic. I have no idea how you moved that ... but thanks.--RichardMcCoy (talk) 04:38, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
