A tag has been placed on 1-3+9-27+..., requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Redirect targets

[edit]

Hi, please don't change the target of an existing redirect - especially not to point to a page nominated for speedy deletion. I get that you're trying to be involved, but to be totally honest your actions (creating essays and unsourced pages, changing redirect targets) are coming off as more than a little disruptive. Please accept this as constructive criticism given to a new editor in good faith, and perhaps try starting a little smaller. NekoKatsun (nyaa) 18:50, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. My actions were in good faith. I just wanted to give advice about what to do when sources conflict, because it wouldn't be verifiable. There is a different essay on the same toplic. I didn't see the harm of my actions. You can probably use the other, more reliable, essay. I'm a newcomer here, so I don't know what to do or what can come off as disruptive. Nononsense101 (talk) 19:01, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I can see that you definitely want to improve the encyclopedia, and I appreciate that! I think the essay you're referring to is WP:CONFLICTING. A good rule of thumb, if I may offer a bit of advice, is to check to see if the piece of information you'd like to add already exists somewhere - in this case, we've already got an essay about conflicting sources, so a second one isn't necessary. I'd also suggest that while you're new, you stick mostly to article-space, and not Wikipedia-space, which is usually for once you're more familiar with the ins and outs of how things work here.
As a final piece of advice, if I were you, I'd get rid of User:Nononsense101/RfA_request immediately. I spend a decent amount of time lurking around RfA polls and such, and thinking about adminship as a new user is generally considered a huge red flag. Users tend to want at least a year's tenure, if not longer, and that year needs to be solidly packed with helpful article creation, promotion of articles to GA or FA, usually some AfD work, and the like.
I hope this didn't come off as harsh or rude; I can definitely see that you're editing in good faith and I feel like you could be a really valuable addition to the project! NekoKatsun (nyaa) 19:10, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I forgot the shortcut. Nononsense101 (talk) 19:12, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I check articles and put maintenance tags.
You could help me with the ins and outs of Wikipedia.Nononsense101 (talk) 19:18, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I got rid of the content at User:Nononsense101/RfA_request and tagged it for deletion under CSD U1.

I actually created a template for conflicting sources.

Your recent edit seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Nonsense categories

[edit]

Hello,

Please don't create unnecessary categories like Category:Articles needing additional references from 00:32, 12 January 2021 (UTC). The category structure is a hierarchical navigation system and any new categories have to fit into the existing category structure. This category doesn't make any sense.

If you want more information about categories on Wikipedia, please read Wikipedia:Categorization. For more general questions you might have or advice on how you can help here, I encourage you to visit the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 01:22, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:When sources conflict during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Question for you

[edit]

Why do you want to be an admin? Your account is pretty young and per your own userpage you've got barely over 300 edits, but in two different places on your userpage you note that adminship is something you're interested in.

To perhaps put this in some perspective for you, my own account has been around since 2014, has just over 5,500 edits, and I wouldn't have a chance at RfA.

Just curious about your adminship aspirations! NekoKatsun (nyaa) 17:18, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you don't seem to have set up Twinkle and I wanted to recommend it to you. Twinkle is a gadget that makes a number of editing tasks easier. For example, when you want to tag an article as you did here, you can use Twinkle's dropdown menu to select the tag that you want instead of typing it all manually. It also makes it easy to revert vandalism as well as open the editor's talk page automatically to give them a warning. There's no installation, you just have to activate it in your preferences. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 22:27, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:2.9200...

[edit]

Hello, Nononsense101. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2.9200...".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 21:53, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption proposal

[edit]

I noticed you want to be an admin someday. One good quality of admins is knowing how to revert vandalism, and that's been my strong spot for 1 1/2 months. If I adopt you, I can teach you not only vandalism reversions but also a few other things admins do. interstatefive  (talk) - just another roadgeek 14:52, 8 April 2022 (UTC) @Interstatefive: OK Nononsense101 (talk) 15:29, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
