Welcome!

Hello, Nukleoptra, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} after the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! Shotmenot 19:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User name change[edit]

I saw your post on another user talk and i thought i might be of some help to you. Here is the link to changing your user name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Changing_username Shotmenot 18:45, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to User Name[edit]

I responded on my talk page with this: Congratulations on getting a username! In answer to your question, go to WP:CHU for more information. However, since you are a very new user, you might be told to create a new account since your current account has very few edits.

I know the user above already gave you a link, but I thought I'd at least respond to you. Acalamari 18:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay. I decided to stick with a quirky name, I can't be bothered lol. Though I did make tons of edits as an anomynous to music and celebrity articles. Nukleoptra 19:09, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Userboxes.[edit]

I replied with this: Go to this page: Wikipedia:Userboxes. Acalamari 19:18, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, confused. Nukleoptra 19:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I responded with: How are you confused? Acalamari 19:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Response: Go to the gallery section of the article. There are userbox collections there. Acalamari 20:04, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do I copy down the code?

not to interrupt, just giving a suggestion, a great way to learn about them is to view the code from other peoples pages then copy it into yours along with the changes. This is a good thing to do until you learn how to do it on your own. best of luck. Shotmenot 20:25, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To shotmenot: I was going to suggest that. Nice one. To Nukleoptra: I'm glad you took shotmenot's suggestion. By the way, make sure that every time you leave a message on a talk page that you remember to use the ~~~~ so you can sign your messages. I also suggest that whenever you do an edit that you write an edit summary in the edit summary box. Other users might think you're a vandal if you don't use summaries. I, however, know that you are not a vandal. Acalamari 21:10, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reponse to Virus.[edit]

I would have to say it's a coincidence. I've only found the one virus on Wikipedia. If there were more viruses, I'd know about them. Having an account does not make you more prone to catching viruses. Don't you have any anti-virus software and/or a firewall? Acalamari 17:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the only page you've been visiting is Wikipedia, then it makes sense the viruses would come from here, but if you've been to other sites, they get thrown into the equation. Again, don't you have any anti-virus software? Acalamari 16:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
AVG is a good anti-virus. My family and I use the most updated version. Acalamari 16:33, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nicole Richie[edit]

Hey Nukleoptra. As a fellow editor, I'd like to remind you of Wikipedia's WP:ATT policy. Specifically, statements like "it is also rumored that Richie didn't pen the novel..." that don't even have a source generally should not be in Wikipedia. If some notable group commented on the rumors, it possibly can go in the article, but as it is it shouldn't be there. -SpuriousQ (talk) 18:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, no worries. -SpuriousQ (talk) 18:57, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In case you see Tragic Kingdom or any other articles vandalized like that, I'd recommend using {{blatantvandal}} or something similar. Various articles have been vandalized with the edit summary MichaelMontalbano from different IPs, and I think several have been blocked because of it. ShadowHalo 19:46, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have no clue. Based on this one, I'd guess it's the person's name. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that some of the edit summaries have also been "pie". I'm even more in the dark on that one. ShadowHalo 19:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did a search and found nothing notable. It's probably the person's name.Nukleoptra 19:52, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nukleoptra, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Courtney Love images[edit]

I saw your message about pictures of Courtney Love, and looking at your contributions suggest you're somewhat new to Wikipedia. So let me begin by asking you where you got these pictures from. Did you rip them off a website, did you take them yourself? In order to upload pictures to Wikipedia, you have to have a source, and an applicable "licence" to indicate it's copyright status. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for more information. Contact me if you have any questions. -- Reaper X 02:27, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Barnstars.[edit]

Thank you for the barnstars. :) I've moved them to my barnstars subpage. I'm glad I've been able to help you. Acalamari 17:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. :)Nukleoptra 17:21, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject England[edit]

Hello! You have probably noticed that WikiProject England has been inactive recently and I and other members are working on making it active again and getting more members to join. I am kindly asking for your help tagging articles for class and importance using {{WPE}}, their are literally thousands of articles at Category:England and all of its sub-categories which urgently need tagging ad your help is needed! For more information about theses templates please see the Project Page and I hope you are enjoying being a member!! Tellyaddict 21:23, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Log In/Out.[edit]

Nothing bad happens, from my experience. Sometimes I haven't logged out; I just close my browser. Anyway, nothing bad should happen. It seems that Wikipedia logs out automatically whenever you close your browser down completely. Acalamari 20:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dropping by to check on you.[edit]

Hello Nukleoptra, I thought I'd leave you a message to ask how you've been doing since you signed up. You seems to be doing fine from what I've seen of you. I am very glad you registered. :) Acalamari 19:10, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm doing okay, but I haven't been editing much- my pc's got another nasty virus off MSN and I've been busy. I noticed the rfa thing. Shame it didn't work out. :( Better luck next time. Nukleoptra 20:47, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good, I'm glad you're doing well. I just wanted to leave you a message to see how you were. As for my RfA, I had mistakes from January and February going against me. All of them combined were enough to sink the RfA. A lot of my mistakes came from inexperience, and most are very easy to avoid. Anyway, you're doing well, which I'm pleased to see. :) Acalamari 20:53, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The list of participants of the Pokémon WikiProject is quite sizable, however, there is no way to determine which of whom are active contributors to that project. All participants in the list have been moved to Inactive. If you consider yourself to be an active member of the Pokémon WikiProject, please go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon#Participants and move your username to the Active section. Thank you. Message from the My Chemical Romance task force[edit]

Hello!

You may be interested to know that the WikiProject My Chemical Romance has recently been transformed into a task force of WikiProject Emo. Please visit the task force page to see what's new. This move allies the task force with a larger WikiProject that handles much of the administrative overload, thus allowing task force members to focus on the most important activity: article improvement.

The project's membership list has also been moved to the new task force page. If you see that your username is in the "Inactive/former members" section, please do not take offense; this is because you no longer appear to be active on Wikipedia. We may also take the liberty of removing the member userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:My Chemical Romance task force members. Of course you are free to rejoin the task force and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active again.

For active editors, it is our hope that this change will help spur you to improve articles related to My Chemical Romance. You may have noticed that the old My Chemical Romance project userbox on your user page has automatically changed to the new task force userbox. We may take the liberty of fixing the template link on your userpage, to avoid redirects.

Thank you and we hope you will continue to support the My Chemical Romance task force!

Queen WikiProject[edit]

Hello, I am leaving you this message as part of a personal effort to revive the Queen WikiProject of which you are listed as a participant. If you are not interested in committing yourself to contributing to Queen related articles please go about removing yourself from the participants list on the project page. On the other hand if you are interested in the project and do wish to contribute, I encourage you to head over to the project's talk page to work towards outstanding tasks and share ideas on how Queen-related articles may be improved.

Thanks for reading this, and I look forward to your response. Such a legendary group deserves to be honoured with quality articles on Wikipedia and it is a great shame such a project has gone inactive.

Personal file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
