COPYVIO issue

Hi - I'm still investigating that page, but I think the Facebook post post-dates the edits in question - in other words, that post is copied from the Wikipedia article. You said there were other sites it was taken from though? GirthSummit (blether) 09:16, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

@Girth Summit: Earwig's tool gave hits from multiple sources. For current rev, that includes [1]. Please refer to the Copyvio check at [2].
In any case, if you are using Earwig's tool could you please check all the hit sites for multiple revisions? Multiple people (including COI/shared account users) have been editing and adding new information. Optakeover(U)(T)(C) 09:19, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
Optakeover, yeah, from what I've been able to work out so far, the first paragraph is copied directly from the UN site, but the rest of it looks clean (there's an attributed quote that Earwig picks up, but that's OK). If there's nothing else that you're aware of, I'll reword the first paragraph and revdel the earlier versions. GirthSummit (blether) 09:22, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
@Girth Summit: Praxidicae is also working on it. The offending revs will still need to be hidden. Optakeover(U)(T)(C) 09:24, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
There are no offending revisions. The source from the UN you say is a copyvio was published two years after our article and even if it were the source of a copyvio, it's only a two sentence match. The Facebook url that pops up on Earwig is clearly copied *from* Wikipedia, so no revdel is needed. Praxidicae (talk) 09:29, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I just saw the date on the UN site - that also post-dates our content. If we can't find a source for the text that pre-dates our article, I don't think I'd have grounds to revdel anything. GirthSummit (blether) 09:42, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
Hey - just as an aside, have you looked at User:Enterprisey/cv-revdel.js? It's easier than going onto the revdel IRC to request copyvio revdel - just open the article history, select the revisions that need looking at, and provide links to the relevant websites.
