The article Ronny Velásquez has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Constructive, I hope

[edit]

OK. The prod blp was because there weren't any references - a dodgy state to be in with a bio. You've now got a link to something about him, which is a very brief summary of him but with the long list of works. What you need to do is to show that he is notable. You need to say a bit more about what he does, where he does it, and what FUNIDEF is - and to give at least minimal referencing for this. Look at WP:BIO. The English language Wikipedia is stricter than most of the other ones I've been to, so far as I can see. For referencing requirements, see WP:RS - basically not blogs, forums, Wikipedia, own sites or any other such unreliable places. You give an impressive looking list of publications - but they can't by themselves show notability. For a start, there are titles only. What sort of publication were they published in? For all we know, they might have been little leaflets run off 20 at a time on a photocopier at the shop on the corner. (I'm not suggesting they are - just pointing out that without any more info given, they could be...) (Look at WP:V about verifiability.) I put the refimprove tag on to tell you (and any passing person with some knowledge of Ronny) that something needed to be done. It's not a case of get it done in five minutes or it'll be speedily deleted, but a call for improvement. Keep in touch and let me know if you have problems. I won't be doing much tonight, but I'll have a look for sources too if the office don't call me in tomorrow. Peridon (talk) 21:32, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - thought you were talking about Ronny V. No, I'm not an expert on any South American cultures. I am interested in many things (but not synchronised swimming, most politics or rap), and have expertise in some, but you won't be able to learn from me on this topic.
