You deleted Template:Ghetto rock as "a template that blatently misrepresents policy". I don't see how this template says anything about policy at all. It should probably have been moved to article space, and possibly deleted as not notable, but this wasn't a WP:CSD#T2 situation that i can see. DES (talk) 22:09, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

You're right, I thought I specified A7 and realized that after it was deleted, however there's no real way to change the log. Q T C 22:11, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
There, I restored it, moved it, and deleted it again. Q T C 22:14, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

re: CSD

Hello! Noticed you declined an article I marked as G1 noting it needed translation, all I saw were rows upon rows upon rows of little squares, which was my rationale as marking it as gibberish. I was just curious, I have all the language packs installed so usually if its in a non-Western script it will show properly for me.... 2 says you, says two 22:34, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

It's in Bengali, so you need an appropriate font. Language packs wont do much if you dont have a font that can render the characters. Q T C 22:56, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah, that makes sense... thanks for clarifying 2 says you, says two 23:22, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Talkpage Template

Do you have any ideas on how to redirect the redlinked shortcut to my talkpage?--MaximilianT (talk) 22:38, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Which what now? Q T C 22:41, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
In the first template on my talkpage, you can read "Shortcut:MaximilianT", but the link for the shortcut is in fact a redlink. Do you have any ideas on how to fix that?--MaximilianT (talk) 22:50, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
User talk pages generally don't have shortcuts as there is nothing that should redirect to your page. Removing MaximilianT from {{User talk header}} will fix that. Q T C 22:59, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for helping. --MaximilianT (talk) 23:05, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

User 120.17.58.134

This anonymous user has recently vandalized my talk page after a "only warning" issued by you. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention, as well as AIV. According to the talk page and a tracert, the IP seems to be coming from a mobile phone provider, so I am not 100% sure how this situation differs from when a single user is causing the vandalism.

Thanks for the help. GLaDOS (talk) 01:21, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Can you explain why you reverted Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi to a version that nobody but edit warriors agrees with? I know, it's The Wrong Version, but the people who want the redirect to be at the version you reverted to, are the ones who are making racist and personal attack comments on the people who were mentioned in the other version. 67.51.38.51 (talk) 16:31, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Can you please work to unprotect the tosh.0 page. Tosh.0 is a tv show on Comedy Central, and on the most recent episode, the Host, Daniel Tosh asked the viewers to edit the Tosh.0 wikipedia page. (Source: Tosh.0 website) <-- (Source was miscopied, and is corrected, if it makes a difference)

No. Q T C 04:29, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
No, it doesn't make a difference. Tosh does not own the article about him, so it is not up to him what goes on there. Q T C 04:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

In that case, can he have it deleted and build his own? It seems if it's about him and he can't even edit it, it should be taken away... XXjellycheeksXx (talk) 05:45, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

WP has policies, like conflict of interest and the like. Vandalism is one of those things that is also against the rules. He's more then welcome to start his own wiki and ask people to vandalize it, but as long as he wants to play with Wikipedia he has to follow the rules too. Q T C 05:47, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

but considering that the host of the show is expecting a fully edited page in the morning could you please consider unblocking it i dont see the problem with doing that Rjauregui (talk) 07:23, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Indeed. The will of the people outweigh the will of one man. Q T C 07:30, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

we are the people and tosh is with us if another person besides tosh made a page about him then it should be deleted Rjauregui (talk) 07:33, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

What? It does not matter what Tosh wants. His voice does not carry any more weight then any individual editor. Wikipedia has policies about this. Q T C 07:35, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

ok so he has to make his own page for us edit it Rjauregui (talk) 07:38, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

No. It would likely be deleted as it is not encyclopedic in nature. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for people to come up with the most hilarious vandalism, it is an encyclopedia. Q T C 07:39, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

and i take it ur gana be the guy to delete itRjauregui (talk) 07:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Depends. I dont know how many times I've said this, but Wikipedia has policies and guidelines. Everything must follow these, it is highly unlikely a page created by Tosh, for the sole purpose of people vandalizing it, is acceptable by any policy, so yes I would delete it. Q T C 07:44, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

well its not vandalism if its stated as fact so unless you know every detail of his life you cant delete it correctRjauregui (talk) 07:49, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

No, articles on wikipedia need reliable sources and citations. It may not be vandalism, but it is against other policies. And please stop trying to come up with a rationale for allowing people to vandalize, it wont happen. Q T C 07:51, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Deliberate misinformation is vandalism, and will be dealt with appropriately. As will the editors responsible for the vandalism. —Dark 07:56, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

I think it's crazy to think that if Daniel Tosh started his own page and edited the info himself, that is could be deleted because it's then autobiographical and therefor you have to take his word on it. It's not like the he has documented EVERY experience in his life and even if he wanted to, apparently WP wouldn't be the people to help him start... + every bit of information about him, no matter how small could be at some point beneficial to someone/anyone who needed the info, whether he had sources for his life experience not.XXjellycheeksXx (talk) 16:36, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Again, WE HAVE POLICIES for this. An encyclopedia isn't an autobiography, it's a list of verifiable facts. Also, this is entirely beside the point, he didn't write his article. Q T C 16:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Then who did OverlordQ? what if my information gives people more information about Daniel Tosh's Comedy career, Any you also said "No, articles on wikipedia need reliable sources and citations" So if dont need a Reliable source nor do i need a Citation. So for all you could know Daniel tosh could have eaten Donkey dookie to start his Career. How would you know other wise??XxBubbl3zxXXx (talk) 02:28, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Your information is not valuable in terms of Tosh's career. You do not meet our reliable sources standards. And you obviously do not know what a comma is used for. —Dark 06:09, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

More Thanks.

Thanks for the user page revert.  :) Aruton (talk) 21:56, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Reverting Vandalism

Hey, thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user talk page. SQGibbon (talk) 05:18, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

User_talk:Jeremy67876

Hi

I notice that you did not take any action against this user after you had warned him about vandalism. I am just curious as to your train of thought on that process.

I warned him after several counts of vandalism [1] on Kievan Rus' - You then gave him "final warning" after another on the same article

He then edited Holy Roman Empire twice and you reverted one (his second and last edit)

I was surprised that you did not proceed further (or I can't see that you did) and wondered if there was a reason for this ?

I am only interested as I want to see how the process works and am unsure if it was because I had perhaps over-reacted in the first warning level. I have reverted his first edit on the Holy Roman Empire and wanted to ask you as I was going to warn him again but you have already given him "last warning" and you are more than capable of taking it further but have not.

thanks...Chaosdruid (talk) 21:07, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Because it wasn't technically considered vandalism. OverlordQ (talk) 21:43, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Lol - fair enough thats good enough for me - I'll leave it then and see if anything else transpires lol
Chaosdruid (talk) 22:09, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
It's debatable, might have been vandalism, but just as likely somebody try to add the asked for sources and not knowing any better. OverlordQ (talk) 22:14, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Is it possible?

Can a bot be created which will automatically clear an entry on a user's watchlist when he clicks on "diff"? Watchlists can often have screeds of entries and it would make it easier if entries dropped off when actioned. (I'm not a compu-nerd so don't know if it is possible even). Assistance request with an engineer

Hi. I picked you as a random admin with the userbox {{user engineer}}. I'm looking for someone to help assist a famous engineer (unconfirmed, but likely), with the editing of Wikipedia. All the details can be found by a quick perusal of these contribs and his talkpage (which he blanked once after this diff, on April 18.). I'm hoping you could either help him out, or find someone else appropriate to do so. I'm watchlisting everything, so reply/act wherever (and please let me know if I've done anything terribly wrong, so far :) Much thanks. -- Quiddity (talk) 23:11, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Page protection

Good morning.... can you please protect the article Demographic history of Bačka until the conflict me + Wladthemlat vs Hobartimus + Outesticide is solved?

There is an old conflict that transfers from a page to another: [3] [4]

I will try to sum it all up :

  • The problem is about inserting in the article the sourced data sbout the censuses from 1715 and 1720 which present an overwhelming majority of the Serbs over Hungarians
  • The Hungarian users refuse to add these data to he article, claiming that they are not reliable (personal opinion unsupported by a source) and organized in september 2007 a vote about the reliability of these census data, even if the data are confirmed by academic sources User:Fcsaba (Hungarian editor), User:Hobartimus (Hungarian editor), UseR:PaxEquilibrium (Montenegro editor), User:Rjecina (Croatian editor) (so not even an user from Serbia, the country the area belongs to)
  • In present Me, User:Wladthemlat, User:PANONIAN contest this vote and the argument of the supportees of not inserting data from these censuses is that themselves consider History declared them unreliable (without showing a source, so it is just a personal POV)
  • In conclusion, does an opinion of a certain user from WP override an academic source? (MarekSS (talk) 06:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC))

Per Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Funnyjunk666, I'm hardening that block. That's part of a (will fail) coordinated effort by users on another website to vandalize Wikipedia. We don't need them creating anymore of these accounts if we can help it. Regards, –MuZemike 14:46, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-20_major_economies This image was deleted. I am PISSED! This is not fair.

I understand that I don't own this image. But I did invest a lot of time and do oww the original tears and sweat that went to it. For every delete you make, subjectively and like a dictator, it has a human consequence. How dare you. Seriously. Why not show the courtesy and notify the author and have a respectful conversation? I find this whole going around deleting really offensive and elitest. Thanks a lot guys for making Wikipedia suck and blocking something that really could of contributed to the common good.

Wikipedia is the most frustrating thing ever and I absolute hate some of these things. HATE IT!:

1. I spend approx 5+ hours working on something like this image and then someone just swoops it and deletes it. What gives you the right to do this? This was an honest piece of work. No one made you the delete boss. How would you like it if I went and deleted all your work. Wikipedia is SO elitest. Yuck.

2. I should be notified to any changes and especially DELETES that are made to MY work.

3. I am extremely upset that the "deletion debate" happened and I was not involved. This is the most attrocious thing ever. Like a court case where the defendant and his lawyer are not present. I should of been automatically notified.

4. Tracking the history of the changes and deletions to my work was so hard. I could view all changes to a page, but I want to view all activity on my specific image and the changes made to it.

As to the merits of this "deletion debate": 1. This image was self-made. No I didn't personally photography all these world leaders. Du.

2. FYI The Obama photo is NOT a cropped version of the flickr image. It is from a different image. OverlordQ you are wrong.

3. Thank you 211.181.143.3 the file is useful and can contribute. I think it can and thus there is no harm in including it.

4. The cowboy obama in my opinion, is not amateurish but shows a unique side of obama and an uniquely american yank. Official portrati would be fine with me. The mature wikipedia thing to do would be to contact me and ask me to change or use the original image to change yourself (or ask for the alterantive .pub file).

5. Emperor Akihito and Queen Elizabeth aren't directly relevant BUT they show the leaders and political figures of each countries. THe top 2 both head of state and president. They follow form and serve as a comparison of political figures and queens/emperors as they relate to the geopolitical environment.

6. Obama photo copyright, why delete the whole image, change the image.

Summary: - I apologize for being immature and naive. This is why I want to hate wikipedia and it really really really frustrates, offends me and makes me never want to contribute anything ever again.

- Why did people hate wikipedia? Beacause it is so difficult and the least user friendly thing ever to edit and because of elitest wikipedia editors who thing they are better than others and own this site. YOU DON'T. A person who has made 1 edit is just as important as someone who has made 1000 edits.

- The structural flaws in wikipedia (from not including me in deletion debates, to techinical difficulty such as not making specific file history clear, not notifying me of changes to my work, messiness in user interfactes etc. created this.

- Overall, you're ruthlessness and complete and utter indifference TO THE HUMAN BEING behind the work is what holds wikipedia back.

Hello. You missed part of the text you were trying to remove from visibility here. Bringing this to your attention, so you can remove that too. Akerans (talk) 02:21, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

That would make a good template now, wouldn't it? It's probably common for vandalism to be targeted at one admin for a day, so in case there are future attacks... mechamind90 06:09, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

That's not how you move a page)

That's not how you move a page) so instead of being a sarcastic why dont you move it properly? it should be titled anorexia nervosa (differential diagnoses). There is something called a talk page right? JFC 7mike5000 (talk) 08:23, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

You copypaste move a page, Coren Bot gives you a warning with a handy link on how to do it right, but you chose to ignore this advice and go back to trying to redirect to the new page. So yea, thats not how you do it was fitting. Q T C 08:27, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
