Camper & Nicholsons[edit]

Do you want to take any material from Draft:Camper_&_Nicholsons ?

Camper and Nicholsons moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Camper and Nicholsons, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Camper and Nicholsons are referred to from over 150 Wikipedia articles, which I believe counts as notable. Of the external references, The Royal Museum at Greenwich, for example, should count as reliable and independent. There is already a Wikimedia Commons category for ships built by Camper and Nicholsons. Most of those Wikipedia pages contain their own external references, which could be incorporated, although this might make for a less readable article. The company built boats for over 200 years, and there are histories of the company in several yachting magazines, of which the referenced articles from Superyacht Times are typical, as well as available online. Other Yachting magazines have reviews of individual classes of yacht, but are mostly not online, and tend to be very specific. Yachting articles tend not to cover military vessels or lifeboats, where the linked Wikipedia articles have their own references. Paladyn-john (talk) 20:43, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm about to review the C&N draft, and wondered if you could help me by pointing out the three strongest sources in terms of WP:GNG notability, meaning that they are independent and reliable secondary sources, and provide significant coverage (of the subject directly). This would save me having to sift through 150+ sources. Many thanks in advance! -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:37, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest for an overview the two SuperYacht Times articles [1]https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/the-ghost-of-yards-past-camper-nicholsons and [2]https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/the-ghost-of-yards-past-camper-nicholsons-part-ii and the Classic Yacht Info article at [3]https://classicyachtinfo.com/designer/camper-nicholson/. The Ian Dear book has the best coverage of the subject, but is not available online for verification. Paladyn-john (talk) 15:40, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
