If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Patrice Bouchet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. File copyright problem with File:Patrice Bouchet.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Patrice Bouchet.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Nick—Contact/Contribs 20:20, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Patrice Bouchet.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Patrice Bouchet.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:20, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

{{|help me}}

Please help me with... I downloaded this picture to include it into the Wikipedia Patrice Bouchet page. Obviously, I did something wrong because this photography of mine should never appear that way. Please delete it! Many thanks in advance and please accept my apology for the trouble Pbouchet

Patrice Bouchet 02:40, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

The current image seems acceptable though. You can add another image to replace it if you wish. SwisterTwister talk 05:22, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Patrice Bouchet. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 04:23, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mr. Mcmatter: I truly understand your concern and accept your decision. However, please note that I never intended to create a personal web page. It was a difficult decision, which I took because several of my US colleagues asked me to do it (that is why I didn't post it in the French Wikipedia), for my name appears in the discovery of the Neptune's ring and other Wikipedia pages and they didn't know which "Bouchet" it was (we are a few astrophysicists with the same name in France). Anyway I saw today that the page has been considerably shortened and I am absolutely happy with that. I am 61, my scientific career is behind me, I have no ego, and will not have any pain, nor tears if Wikipedia decides to delete the page. Although I think that a simple reference to my works, elsewhere cited in Wikipedia could deserve a few sentences of who I am. All the best, wishing you a merry christmas.

December 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Patrice Bouchet. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! File permission problem with File:Inner ejecta of SN 1987A seen with ALMA.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Inner ejecta of SN 1987A seen with ALMA.png, which you've attributed to R. Indebetouw. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:00, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the image from the article SN 1987A as the caption was copied verbatim from a copyright journal article. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. If you are the copyright holder and wish to release this material under a compatible license, please see WP:Donating copyrighted materials for an explanation of how to do it. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:09, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Pbouchet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Patrice Bouchet 06:42, 10 April 2018 (UTC) I understand your point, and I agree that the original file written and posted in 2015 was too long and should be deleted. Note that I have been asked by several of my colleagues to write a CV and to post it in Wikipedia. Although I agreed, it was not my idea. Therefore, I have nothing against the deletion of the original page. However, a much shorter file appears presently which I believe is in agreement with the Wikipedia policy. I would like this short page to be preserved. I think that my contribution to Astrophysics deserves it. Thank you very much in advance, Best Regards, Patrice Bouchet
