Proposed deletion of Max Bollinger

[edit]

The article Max Bollinger has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable actor.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. POKERdance talk/contribs 17:25, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Max Bollinger, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Max Bollinger. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. POKERdance talk/contribs 17:36, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} what is the point of adding anything if it is all being deleted before the article can ever be finished.  ?

Help request

[edit]

(moved over from Talk:Max Bollinger)

There are numerous references to this name in various productions on Wikipedia, yet no profile exists for Max Bollinger.

{{helpme}} articles are being deleted before they can be ever finished. someone is deleting submissions before they are complete

what is the point of this? if one can never finish an article and it is being deleted all the time for reasons that make no sense.

I am actually doing this work for free and am happy to just drop it. seems like a total waste of time

First, the article will not be deleted immediately; there will be a discussion, for about a week. So, if things are fixed up during that time, it won't be a problem.
Second, please remember that Wikipedia is live, 24/7. Thus, when you make an article, it is immediately available to the world - thus it must meet the required standards that we've all agreed on - especially with regard to references, etc.
There is a simple answer to this, though - just create a user subpace, and work on articles there, before making them live. For example, you could make user:Pdsabooks/my test page. For more on that, see WP:USERSUBPAGE. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  17:52, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} OK, I give up. Delete everything and be happy. There are other more reliable sources for referencing. This now explains why wikipedia is barred by many providers from being used as source of info.

OK, sorry; I don't know what more I can say; I've started to fix up the article, I've been hunting for references (not easy to find) - and I've flagged it for the rescue team. I'm sorry that you seem to feel we're 'out to get you' - that is absolutely not true, we're all trying to make good articles.
Good luck with whatever you decide. I'll go back to writing stuff.  Chzz  ►  18:11, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We have a few days as the Max Bollinger article is being talked about at the deletion discussion... and I have already gone into the article to give it some tweaks per Wikipedia's preferred article format. I am thinking that those suggesting he does not meet WP:AUTHOR based that opinion upon the 2 audio books in the original version of the article (now improved), and not upon a cursory look at Google Books. It seems Bollinger used his language skills to make the crossover from writing to acting and voicework, and has returned to books of late... now in audio format. Care to help me dig to see if his earlier books have received favorable reviews? MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 00:29, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... and in the future... you may find it helpful to first create an article in your workspace at User:Pdsabooks/sandbox (the redlink turns blue once something is in the workspace) and get input and advice from other editors as you work... before moving a more complete article to main pages (we can show you how that's done). This gives you the time to get input and make it all pretty without it being under fire. MichaelQSchmidt (talk) 00:29, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pavel Kostin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 00:31, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
