Welcome![edit]

Hello, Pearlharborandmidway, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Japanese aircraft carrier Kaga have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.  Laser brain (talk) 01:48, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Battle of Midway. Your edits constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 02:09, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Battle of Midway. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Denniss (talk) 18:16, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on German battleship Bismarck. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 23:03, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warning[edit]

Hi there , I’ve noticed that you’ve added some information to List Of Tugs books on (04:39, 25 July 2018)[ There was going to be a fifth book called Sunk, but it was never published. ] One of the key policies of Wikipedia is that all article content has to be verifiable. This means that a reliable source must be able to support the material. All quotations, any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged and contentious material, whether negative, positive, or neutral, about living persons, must include an inline citation to a source that directly supports the material. This also means that Wikipedia is not the place for original work, archival findings that have not been published, or evidence from any source that has not been published. If you are adding new content, it is your responsibility to add source information along with it. Material provided without a source is more likely to be removed from an article. Sometimes such material will be tagged first with a [citation needed] template to give editors time to find and add sources before it is removed, but sometimes editors will simply remove it because they question its veracity. Disambiguation link notification for April 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cured Duck, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Graham (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:20, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Revert at The Holocaust[edit]

Hi. You may have missed it but where you added "The NSDAP" at The Holocaust the article states "seven organizations" and lists seven – without the party. I don't have access to the source given but chances are it backs up what is written in the article and does not mention the party separately. Had you checked the source before making the change? Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:04, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On the official judgement it says: The Leadership Corps of the Nazi Party, the Gestapo and SD (they shared an indictment, the SS, the SA, the Reich Cabinet, and the General Staff and High Command of the Armed Forces. Pearlharborandmidway (talk) 23:53, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. If you want the article to reflect that, you need to make sure whatever (reliable!) source is used backs that up. Robby.is.on (talk) 07:02, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

Stop!
Stop!

This is gonna be your final warning. Per WP:UNSOURCED: "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution.". If you continue to ignore warnings and keep adding or changing stuff in the articles adding inline citations (or WP:RS), you will be blocked from editing. Be aware of that. Thank you. Final warning[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. This is gonna be the large warning you will recieve on this matter. Per WP:CHALLENGE, "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution. [...] Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source.". You have been warned multiples times, yet refused to acknowledge this or changed your behaviour. This will stop, one way or the other. Sorry it has come to that, but if you don't intend to follow the rules, WP:BLOCKING may aply. Coltsfan (talk) 22:31, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Pearlharborandmidway. Beyond the standard template, I wanted to say that when you add or change content on Wikipedia, we need you to provide reliable sources that can verify the content being added. In edits like these, you're changing facts and figures in contravention of the source that's cited at the end of the paragraph. You seem like a generally conscientious editor; I believe you can incorporate sources into your editing. :-)
Finally, I have to caution that continuing to add information without citations will result in blocks of greater duration. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 04:35, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Wham!, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. (CC) Tbhotch 18:54, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
