Other wikiprojects add categories to their wikiprojects for example Category:Syria_categories and Category:Category-Class_Texas_articles --Java7837 16:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you moved his importance level to "top." That level is for articles that are both very important to the topic and form a basic component of discussion within the topic. Rav Feinstein might qualify for the first, but not the second. --Eliyak T·C 01:36, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did the same with House of Hillel and House of Shammai. --Eliyak T·C 01:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:B707-PAA-Porto Rico.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:B707-PAA-Porto Rico.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Fontainebleau hs.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Fontainebleau hs.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Zedla (talk) 04:09, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Pesach3.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following Are Animals 5327 this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:42, 8 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 16:42, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kosher Tax

[edit]

O.K. Clearly, Wikipedia does not want to be honest on this subject, or at least, the writer of the "Kosher Tax" article. But the insinuation that one CANNOT EVEN QUESTION the kosher tax is very disturbing. Even to broach the subject means that one is a racist, extremist, etc. Free speech, as long as you express the proper opinion. This is mindless, pavlovian conditioning.

By the way, imagine Wikipedia asking for donations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.17.173.84 (talk) 16:42, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am pretty new to Wikipedia.

I do not understand why you deleted the references in the Yerushalmi entry to "A Guide to the Jerusalem Talmud" and the book review on the commentaries. These are both important sources for information on the Jerusalem Talmud. Also the section on the commentators is very inadequate. I would be glad to add to it but I don't understand the policy on arbitrary deletions. Please explain. Thank you.Mgmidget (talk) 03:04, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you would deleted only the links leading to advertisements or not-important pictures I wouldn't undo you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Kessler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --IShadowed 10:37, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Penguins Are Animals 5327, I’m the director of Morim-madrichim.org, and let me give you a little bit of background information about the project. Our web site , Morim-madrichim.org is part of the JDC educational programs. As a member of the WikiProject Judaism you my know JDC and his work worldwide. The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization. Since 1914, JDC has exemplified that all Jews are responsible for one another and for improving the well-being of vulnerable people around the world. Today, JDC works in more than 70 countries and in Israel to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, create lasting connections to Jewish life, and provide immediate relief and long-term development support for victims of natural and man-made disasters. Morim-mdrichim.org were launched in 2000 as a part of the www.JewishPrograms.org family of web-based educational resource centers. The www.Morim-Madrichim.org site is tailor-made for educators in formal and informal educational environments while www.JCCenters.org’s focus is on non-formal education for adults, families and youth in communities with and without walls. In additional to the linguistic diversity the diversity of the materials offered on the sites is one of the strengths of the project. The materials are developed by experienced Jewish Educators and Professionals from academia and the field from many different countries. They draw on the diverse influences of their writers who have singular communal, educational and cultural backgrounds. What’s more the very same pedagogical materials are then used in disparate locations around the globe from Costa Rica to Morocco even passing through Zimbabwe, educators from around the world have shared how the resources have assisted them in their work in varying educational, social, economic and religious contexts.

Said that, it is extremely curious how you don’t find pertinent to link our articles and programs to the main Jewish Holydays, that are the pillars of our daily work. We sincerely wait for your apologies in this systematic harassment against our links in Wikipedia. If we find that you continue with your incongruent attitude vis-à-vis our external links , our lawyers will take the necessary actions against your unexplained attitude. You will need a more professional statement than “I removed an external link you added to the page Yom Kippur, because to me it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia” to judge the pertinence of our materials. Best,

FYI

[edit]

I suspect it's because you're a decent person and therefore don't hang out around ANI much, but for next time: reporting someone to ANI for a legal threat is 100% guaranteed to get them blocked. I disagree with how we do this, but I'm in a distinct minority, and that's really how it is almost always handled. I don't think you're under any obligation to "report" a legal threat (if I'm wrong and this is on a guideline or policy page somewhere, let me know), so if something like this happens again, feel free to handle things the way you had planned, without the ANI report, if you're comfortable doing that. Now, if you ever see a threat that makes you uncomfortable, or which seems serious or intimidating, ANI is definitely the place to go.

It's sort of refreshing to see someone report something to ANI and object when the result is a block, but... that's pretty much how ANI operates. Cheers. --Floquenbeam (talk) 01:53, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Al-Ram

[edit]

Hey, Bachrach, Your recent edit of Al-Ram was slightly off the mark. Your edit comment (according to the Al-Ram wiki page) notwithstanding, Al-Ram belongs in the J-lem neighborhood template if only that a small part of it is within the J'lem municipality. Furthermore, most of its residents are considered J'lem residents with blue IDs despite the fact that few receive municipal services from J'lem (such as fire rescue, unless accompanied by the IDF). To make matters worse, even the parts outside of J'lem do not get many services from the P.A. Compared with other former Arab villages (now neighborhoods) of E. J'lem (such as Jabel Mukaber which are more integrated into the municipality, Al-Ram seems to be cursed by political limbo. It is both part of J'lem and part of the P.A. but recieves few benefits from either. Respectfully, --@Efrat (talk) 19:00, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
