Littleton/495, Readville, and Porter GANs
[edit]I will review those three GANs once I finish up a batch of GANs I'm reviewing right now. Sportsguy17 (T • C) 17:07, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's awesome to hear. After those I'll probably continue nominating some of the better articles I've worked on; MBTA Boat, Ayer (MBTA station), Wickford Junction (MBTA station), CapeFlyer, New London Union Station, Shore Line East, West Haven (Metro-North station), and Spotsylvania (VRE station) (once it opens) are all probably near ready to go.
- By the way, I may be reverting or further modifying some of your recent copyedits to the Yawkey article. I understand what you're trying to do with the changes - and some I'll certainly agree with - but some of them awkwardly break up the flow of the text and make it harder to read. - Sorry to bother you again Pi, but I haven't received feedback at the FLC in 1+ week. Is there a way to notify the WikiProject that this FLC is happening, because I'd like to be given more feedback (or a simple thumbs up) so that the FLC isn't just archived due to inactivity. advice? Maybe WP:TRAINS... Sportsguy17 (T • C) 02:37, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Notifying WP Trains would be a great idea. There's a stations task force, not sure if it's active though. FLC is very slow; I suspect they'll eventually adopt a quid pro quo system like DYK has. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 14:15, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

TFL notification
[edit]Hi, Pi. I'm just posting to let you know that List of MetroLink (St. Louis) stations – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for November 9. Excessive detail in MBTA station articles
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your revert at Harvard (MBTA station). Shouldn't the same IP's similar edits to five other station articles get the same treatment? Hertz1888 (talk) 20:37, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Green Line (MBTA)
[edit]Hello! I noticed you are a regular editor on Green Line (MBTA) - I recently nominated this article for GA status. I wanted to check in and see if you agree that this article would pass muster upon review, or if there is work that could still be done before it would receive GA status. Your comments/expertise is appreciated! Thanks, Garchy (talk) 17:58, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, I was just writing on your talk page about this actually. Although the article is lengthy, has lots of references, and has plenty of images available, it's not really ready for GA yet. Every single section needs major work (rewriting, lengthening or shortening, citations, copyedits, etc). The history section needs to be properly split off into a separate article, and some of the physical infrastructure may need to as well. I was planning on doing that eventually - I have access to physical copies of some sources that would make it a lot easier for me to do the bulk of the work - but I don't have the time right now. I'd rather take our time with the article, split the history off properly when I have a block of time to dedicate to that, and go for GA and FA after that. Is that okay?
- Some other notes. You can't just add citations with bare urls if you wish to get above start class - you need to use a proper citation template like {{cite web}}. I've converted most sources to templates, but there's still a few broken sources (and a lot of dead links) left. Also, citations should be added at the end of a sentence rather than in the middle; this is consistent with academic style and makes reading a lot easier.
- On other articles, please be careful about the images you add. That Westborough picture was not a free-use image eligible for Wikipedia; it is copyrighted by the photographer. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:05, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm fine waiting on GA status, if you'd like to add "hold" or remove the nomination I'm ok with that. For the image, yes, it is on Flickr - it is also my own image, which I am allowing Wikipedia to use under a CC license. Thanks, Garchy (talk) 18:45, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, I was half wondering but I made the wrong assumption. My apologies! In that case could you change the license to CC-BY-SA or CC-BY on flickr? For images that are published outside Commons, either the previous publication needs to have the free license indicated, or you need to provide some other proof that you are in fact the author. I believe you, but that's Commons policy, for better or worse. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:04, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Sure, that makes complete sense - I'll make the change on the Flickr page, once I figure out how I set that in the first place! Thanks for your comments on the GA status, I'll fill in the bare url's that I added! Garchy (talk) 19:07, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Sounds great! By the way, once you're able to change the license, would you be willing to change some others from your former stations set as well? You've managed to get some photos that I'm unable to replicate either by virtue of inaccessibility or lack of a good camera; I'd love to have them on Commons. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:15, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Sure! Some of them were taken, err, from areas that are supposed to be inaccessible to the public, I may not release those immediately (to avoid any unwanted attention, I had a similar problem when I released a set of photos from Westborough State Hospital), but I'm happy to help where I can. Garchy (talk) 19:23, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- I don't see too many that look particularly problematic in that sense except for the ones of the old Woodland station, and I think the biggest danger about stepping a few feet onto a golf course passed when you didn't get hit by any stray drives. I'll admit to straying a few times myself to get photos for Commons... Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:31, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

@Garchy: have you gotten around to changing the flickr license for the Westborough image? When you're logged in and viewing the photo, you should have the option to change it just below the lower right corner of the image. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:32, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hello! Thanks for following up on this, and sorry for the wait. The Flickr page is managed by myself and two other photographers, together we've added our own images. I've heard from one of them, but not from the other and would like a consensus prior to making the change on the image. While the image is mine we've traditionally made these decisions together. If the change does not happen I have others of the same station that are not currently online, and I would be happy to upload one of those with the correct CC license attributed. If I don't hear from the last photographer by the end of the week I'll remove the image (unless you'd like to do so sooner, which I understand). Thanks for the patience! - @Garchy: sorry to bother you, but any updates? Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:25, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry for the wait! I have not received any word from my colleague pertaining to the image - I think to be safe we can remove it, I have other images of the same station on my SD card, so I will upload those separately - those images aren't shared with other authors. Sorry for the confusion with this, I didn't think it would be that much of a hassle on my end. Garchy (talk) 14:49, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- No problem. I've nominated it for deletion. Let me know when you upload the new picture(s)! Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:21, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Review needed
[edit]Can you review the article Andheri railway station, which i had worked on and assessed for GA? Thanks. SuperHero ● 👊 ● ★ 09:06, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- I have not done any GA reviews yet, so I may be a little rusty, but I'll do my best. I do see some significant issues that will need fixed - there is no history between 1934 and 2011, no discussion of the station's use for long-distance trains, and one of the images is a copyright violation and also not at Andheri at all. The history is also very disorganized; much of the station layout section should be incorporated under the history section instead. You may wish to fix these issues before I begin a formal GA review. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:13, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
- Mate Pi.1415926535, the history has much to say as it was a part of Salsette Trombay era and i had written my best to nominate it as GA. Secondly, the article was not even in good shape with scheduling as Wikipedia is not a directory or a kiosk. Added much of map and station details to the core with the reliable sources. And as per image, it was originally clicked in 1928 but in site it says 1972 for copyright reasons. Will see to it too. SuperHero ● 👊 ● ★ 05:44, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
