Sweet Spot (metaphysics)[edit]

Hi. Yes, please, by all means create a Sweet Spot (metaphysics) article if you think there should be one. Click on the link and start writing!

Just be aware that you will need to demonstrate that it is already an established, recognised term within the field of metaphysics. This means good cites from reliable sources. One cite, from one paper, by one post-graduate student, from a forum (forums are generally self-published, i.e. just about anyone can write anything), is unlikely to suffice. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:16, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dr judy wood requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. • I ended up deleting the page for a number of reasons. The first is that the page was a re-creation of an AfD from 2007. However there was also concern over notability and the page was also a copyright violation from her official website. If you're interested in re-creating your article you'll need to go through deletion review since Coredesat is no longer an active editor on Wikipedia and he was the person who closed the AfD. It was a pretty divided AfD, so I'd not recommend re-creating this before going through deletion review. That said, notability guidelines have grown increasingly more strict since then and in order to recreate the page you'll have to show how she's received coverage in independent and reliable sources. Whether or not her theories are correct isn't really the point here, although I do know that the topic of "correct or not" does sometimes come up with anything that's considered "WP:FRINGE". What you need here are independent and reliable sources like newspaper articles, mentions in academic sources, and the like. I know that it's more difficult for Truthers to gain coverage, but it's still required. Now assuming that this passes DRV, you will still need to create an article that does not use content taken from somewhere else. Copyright is automatically assumed on all material posted elsewhere and Wood's site does have a copyright mark at the bottom of her page, so you can't cut/paste the information. If you know her or know how to contact her then you can try to get her to file a ticket through WP:ORTS that gives permission, but be careful - a lot of official bios are written with the intent to promote the individual. This isn't a bad thing when it's on someone's website and would be recommended there, but on Wikipedia things have to be written with a WP:NPOV. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:44, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
